  1. Please, can anybody explain me why the Professional results aren't jet online ? On the official website are avaiable only the Amateur results (since sunday ... ;-(( On the other side, on Fabebook each winner is celebrating ... ;-))
  2. Thanks guys, it's a little triky, but for what I can see the aren't any other solutions .... ;-((
  3. Hi all, I would like to replace the original rear sight on my STI LAWMAN (it's a TAS, tactical adjustable rear) with something like a classic BOMAR adjustable: please, can anybody suggest a brand/model that fits with the slide's dovetail ? Best thing it would be a complete set (front + adjustable rear) with a fiber optic front. Thanks
  4. I am going to get a Ruger 22.45 for Steel Challenge matches and I wonder what's the best optic I can add on it. The "classic" C-more seems to me too much "big" for a gun like the 22.45 and also too much high on the barrel ... At the moment the Leupold Delta Point looks to me one of the best, but every input / suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Stefano
  5. Hi Guys, please, I would like to have a clarification about SCSA provisional Rulebook. (I've already asked to the SCSA headquarter, but no answer arrived at the moment ...). My question is about Iron Sight Revolver Division: - SCSA provisional Rulebook says: " ...7 & 8 shot revolvers are permitted and may load to full capacity ..." - USPSA Handgun Rulebook says: " ... there isn't a max.capacity limit, BUT it's possible to fire a max.of 6 rounds before reload ..." So, my understanding is that - during a Steel Challenge Match - competitors are allowed to load at full capacity their 7/8 shot REVO, but they are anyway obliged to make a reload after the 6th round fired; correct ? Thanks for your help. Stefano
  6. Hi to all, please, can anybody tell me where I can purchase a good USPSA dimentional box ? Thanks
  7. Guys, at last my interest about the "PD-bug" in SC Rulebook caused something ... I've asked about this issue to Kimberley Williams (SCSA Operation Manager), and here's her kind response: Hi Stefano, Production is an allowed division in the SCSA. We are currently working on a final copy of the rulebook and it will be available soon. It will outline all the details regarding Production division. (in the meantime) you can pretty much just use the USPSA Production list as a guide as it will be the same for SCSA. Hope that helps! : ) Thanks! Thank you so much to you Kim (and to SCSA) for caring so quickly and effectively to a question sent from overseas ...
  8. Yes, "provisional" is the first thing I've noticed ... (Provisional Rules, Rev. Feb. 17, 2009). Thanks for your confirmation: me too I've thinked something similar when - days ago - I've asked the same thing with an e-mail to SCSA (with no reply at the moment ...). My interest rises to the fact that here, in Italy, we would like to start running a SC championship (under the official SCSA rules) but we have to consider the "pruduction-guns" issue, due to the fact that we have a bunch of shooters with PD guns. In my mind, te only answer to this "bug" in the SCSA rulebook is that - probably - in the USA the typical SC shooter is NOT running the match with a production gun (apart from Glock Jockers ...). Guys, any more input on this argument will be welcomed: as sayied, we would like to start playing this interesting game ...
  9. MAIN EVENT: Open to any pistol firing 9mm/.38 Special or larger ammunition (see “ammunition” above). This event has multiple categories as follows. "OPEN REVOLVER” “IRON SIGHT REVOLVER” "WOMEN’S CATEGORY" "USPSA LIMITED" Any USPSA-legal Limited Division pistol. For Steel Challenge, this division also includes any iron-sighted pistol without compensator, ports, or optical sight. Failure to meet Limited rules and criteria shall result in disqualification from Limited award consideration. "IDPA CUSTOM DEFENSIVE PISTOL” “Handguns permitted for CUSTOM DEFENSIVE PISTOL must be .45 ACP caliber...” "IDPA STOCK SERVICE PISTOL” Handguns permitted for STOCK SERVICE PISTOL must conform to the requirements of IDPA Stock Service Pistol (SSP). “Handguns permitted for STOCK SERVICE PISTOL must be Double Action, Double Action ONLY or Safe Action and be of 9mm or larger caliber...” "IDPA ENHANCED SERVICE PISTOL” Handguns permitted for ENHANCED SERVICE PISTOL must conform to the requirements of IDPA Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP). “Handguns permitted for ENHANCED SERVICE PISTOL must be Single Action or selective SA/DA and be of 9mm, .38 super, or 40 S&W...” IMPORTANT! The IDPA categories shall be governed by IDPA rules for basic firearm and holster description and rule interpretation. Failure to meet IDPA rules and criteria shall result in disqualification from IDPA award consideration. The competitor would still be eligible to compete in the overall event. "COWBOY SINGLE ACTION” Well, in what category must to compete a stock Production double-action gun (like CZ Shadow and/or many others) ??
  10. Sorry, this probably will sound to many of you as a stupid question but I am just curious to know an answer ... I've done a translation of the SCSA Rulebook, but I haven't found nothing in it referring to Production guns: (under the "main event" I notice only these categories: OPEN REVOLVER, IRON SIGHT REVOLVER, USPSA LIMITED, plus 3 IDPA categories, but nothing about PD guns). Please, can anybody explain to me - if recognized - what are the SCSA prescriptions for this category ? Thanks in advance Stefano
  11. Rick, your idea is great ! In my opinion it would be useful for you to contact Mike Seeklander at USSA: Mike uses a tool called "skilltest" to gauge the ability and skill-level of a shooter, comparing the results (points & times) of a particular shooter with a database he has implemented with the infos coming from shooter of different classee and divisions, from the rookie d-class shooter, to the Top-GM experienced shooter. The skilltest is based on a list of very simple and "easy-to-do" exercises (not standards): this is just to work on a objective-basis in collecting data ...
  12. For sure, sharing (and evaluating) different ideas among team-mates is a good opportunity. But I was referring to the possible strategy-games among different Teams (from different Countries) during an international match.
  13. It's easy to understand how IPSC shooting is an individual Sport, but sometimes (expecially at level IV & V matches) we have to deal with the concept of "team-strategy": the Top Guys (and Galls) from every Region are grouped in Teams, and they have to compete against each-other not only for the individual title, but also as aTeam. My personal opinion about "Team-strategy" is quite simple: each member of the team shoot the match at his (or her) best, like always happens in an INDIVIDUAL competition; only later, in the second-half of the match, it's possible to approach ALSO a sort of "Team-strategy", even if it's quite simple to imagine: - if your team has an advange agains the others, it's wise to preserve it and shoot the rest of the match safely; - if your team is a little bit behind the first-one, you can TRY to push a little-bit, just to catch the Guys that are in front of you; - if your team it's far behind .... miracles sometimes happens, but most likely in a situation like this there's nothing to do .... Apart from this, I dont' think that REALLY exist a different way of playing the game: sometimes I've heard about some much-more complicated scenarios, where the particular strategy of 1 or 2 Teams is able to help (or just the opposite) another one, but I don't believe it's really so simple (and possible) to do this "on demand" ... What do you think guys ?
  14. Please, I would like to ask this just to have a better knowledge of what's the habit in the USA ... Do you pay the ROs for their job in officiating local/club matches ? And what's about the USPSA Area matches ?? Thanks
  15. Does anyone have any video and/or photo of the classic steel challenge stages, taken from behind the shooting box or with a hat-cam ? I've never been at a steel challenge match, and I'm just curious to see how the steel targets are looking (... but from the shooter's point of view). In the web there are a lot of photos about the shooters (in action) and the guns, but I've found nothing about the steel targets ... Sice now, the best resource I've found is this (from the great K.C Eusebio): http://www.myoutdoortv.com/pdk/web/shootin...u85cQQt0fFcjTQ_ But it refers only about Speed Option and Smoke & Hope: what about the other stages ?? Thanks
  16. Well I know. it looks a strange request. But I was serching for a good idea to practice swingers ... even if you don't have one on your shooting range ! I was thinking that ... basically, it's only a target-transitions + timing issue: you have to shot the activator steel, then one (or more) stationary papers, and then the swinger (at one side of a hard-cover): the whole thing remaining into a certain fixed-time. I was thinking that I could do in this manner: A - set-up the targets in a realistic way (activator steel, stationary target, paper simulating swinger on one side of a hardcover) B - dividing the drill into several time-steps: draw + 1st shot time on activator, transition-time to stationaty target, double-tap-time on the stationary, transition-time to the (fake) swinger, double-tap-time on the (fake) swinger. C - get the total fixed-time of the drill adding each of the above mentioned par-times. E - shot the drill focusing on shooting clean, with good points, and remaining in the fixed-time you have decided to shot it. What do you think about, Guys ? I know, it would be MUCH MORE BETTER with a real swinger but ... I cannot always have it on my practice range !!
  17. Guy, thanks for the tip: I'll consider also this two more aspects !
  18. Hi all, recently I've experienced (according to Murphy's law, most frequently in match than in training ... ) some problems with the mag-retention of my new Shadow. Attempting the reload, sometimes the mag not falls freely. The gun and the mags-set is still quite new, I've used both only few times, and this issue happened a very-few times (so I haven't had jet the chance to understand if this problem is related only to ONE of my 4 mags, or it could happen with all of that ...) but of course I want anyway to solve the problem .... Does anyone have experienced the same issue ? I've thinked about several reasons: 1 - mag-lips (too opened) 2 - OFM mag spring (too light) 3 - mag-relise hole/catch (needs deburring) Any tip will be appreciated ...
  19. OK, after a little bit trouble (due to USPSA's anti-spam system) I've reached John by e-mail ... Thanks !!
  20. Ehmmm ..... sorry guys, I've tried to send an e-mail to John at both the e-mail address above mentioned but they failed ... - These recipients of your message have been processed by the mail server: jamidon1@tvcny.rr.com; Failed; 5.4.3 (routing server failure) - These recipients of your message have been processed by the mail server: vp@uspsa.org; Failed; 5.4.3 (routing server failure)
