  1. Same as Darth; Thousands of Montana Gold 180 JHP and no problems.
  2. That is truly a beauty!!!! Best of luck with it
  3. I've got the shirt! But need to pass on the Tattoo. Although free beer sounds very tempting Thomas...AWESOME!!! Please visit Kansas again when you come back to see your Brother in Colorado!
  4. Bases should keep it down to one reload max per stage. I have two of my mags that hold 21, so with a top off, I can run a 22 round stage without a reload (if I don't have to make up a shot ). I think the bases make it easier on grabbing the mags and safer for your hands on the "slamming it home" portion. Welcome to the fun
  5. Yeah, the rear sights are a pain because they like to move by themselves in transport. Not sure what I am going to do, if anything at this point. I would be interested to see the fixed rear with a blade high enough that it could be filed/machined if necessary to get the right height. Good luck at A3 this weekend!! Wish I was going. I'll drink a beer in tribute
  6. Now they both wear Hennings front sights and the black one has the new magwell. I guess some additional pictures will have to get done
  7. Congratulations on the Texas Limited win!! (Heard this from Leo last night. I hope to hell I have it right I cannot find it online yet and I have to get to work)
  8. There is a fairly large thread regarding wolf primer problems. Hopefully this link gets you to it. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89858&st=0&p=1031707&fromsearch=1entry1031707
  9. Nice looking pistol! How does it shoot?
  10. YES, they are still in business! Have you tried calling? He was out of town shooting the SS Nats and now has to get caught up. I think Emma is minding the store. Try giving them a call.
  11. Very matte black similar to what you will get with burning plastic. When I was a kid I would sometimes burn the plastic tree the model parts came on to add blackening to a military model. It does not hold up to touching. The problem with using a heat source to blacken the front sight is if it gets too close the fiber optic will not do to well. Sight black is NOT made to stick like paint so whatever you get on your fiber optic should wipe off easily. The same goes for the front sight; it will rub off. I don't know anything that is matte black that lasts.
  12. Dan, try some spray on sight black. Henning did sell it, but I am not sure if he still does. I think it is made by Birchwood Casey.
  13. I certainly agree it is an extraction issue and that is the place to look. It is a new gun and I would let the factory know that you are having a problem. That said, before I would return it to the factory I would compare the extractor on the new gun with the extractor on the older gun. If you see a major difference, I would get a new extractor (buy two) and change it when you change the extractor spring. What bothers me is that you said the "stuck" case comes out easily which to me means that the extractor never even got a decent grip on it to begin with. Since it works 95% of the time it is hard to believe the extractor itself is bad, but it is possible. I would also make sure that your slide speed is slowing down and not coming fully into battery. I personally do not grease the slide or frame "rails". Since they are full length and you have lots of contact space, I only use synthetic oil on the rails. Make sure they are staying wet and that the hammer contact area has lubrication. It is difficult to run down a problem that only happens 5% of the time and apparently not consistently. However, you are going to have the most pressure from the magazine rounds on the slide during the first few feeds, so again, make sure that that center rail on the bottom of the slide has lube on it. I know that both of my limited guns will fire out of battery (slide is closed but the barrel is still not locked up). Good luck
  14. Pictures of the jam itself are always helpful. It does not sound like a classic double feed based upon what you stated. Is the round being extracted stuck against the slide and barrel (i.e. stovepipe)? Does it do it with all of the mags or just one or two? Does it happen during the first few rounds of the mag or the last few?
  15. Thanks for updating the post. It is good to know that they took good care of you. Now, please update us if there is any problem at the range after the fix and if you are running the EGW stop pin.
  16. Thanks for the link and the kind wishes. I will certainly take you up on the $10.
  17. Please let us know how the experience with EAA goes. Hopefully like this and not like this Good luck!
  18. Thanks again for the help. I have tried to contact the previous owner with no luck. I know the round count is low by me and the Comp looks to be in very good shape so I would have to base my estimate off of that. I am posting it in the classified section today,
  19. I need to sell (yeah, another unemployed shooter) a rifle that I purchased here 3 years ago and have not put more than 100 rounds through since then. I will list it in the classifieds, but I was hoping that the people that shoot rifles and know rifles can help me set some sort of price for this. I honestly do not know what to start it at. Here is the description and a picture. Thanks in advance for the help. AR-15 Mostly JP- Bushmaster upper and lower receivers, JP 18 medium contour barrel, wylde chamber, with JP Stainless Tactical Compensator, JP Handguard, JP fire control system w/speed hammer , JP Low Mass Stainless carrier, MagPul CTR Stock, ACE LTD Tube, Hogue handgrip. Low round count. Very accurate. Scope and mount are NOT included. I thought I attached a picture, but apparently it did not go. I will try again.
  20. Glad you mentioned that. I was wondering if they were investigating solving the problem. I hope they get it done soon.
  21. DOUBLE CHECKED AT 25 YARDS. THAT IS THE CORRECT MEASUREMENT.
