Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Doublehelix if you still have that *thumb rest [generic]* for the x5 I'd be interested in it.
  2. I too went down that road but not quite to the extent you are. I swiched my Para 40 to an open using a CMore red dot and it works great. After two years I bought a STI 38 Super and have been shooting that. I can see the targets great with the dot. I even just got a 22 conversion for my STI and am using that on Steel Matches. Wouldn't go back to iron sights for anything now.
  3. Great match. I agree with all the good things said about it. I realize that the top shooters should be the first to go to the prize table but it sure was nice to have the chance to go to the table before the end of the line, for us old ducks. We pay the same and drive just as far as the top shooters but never have a chance for an early prize selection except for a drawing. Just food for thought. I will be there next year still trying.
  4. In a recent match a competitor was shooting a stage (Virginia Count)where he had to engage three targets on the left side with two rounds each and then do a mandatory reload and engage three targets on the right side with two rounds each. He shot the three on the left and then one on the right with two each and then remembered he didn't make the reload. He made the reload and shot the three on the right including the one he should not have engaged from the left with two each thinking he needed to engage each set of three from the proper side. How many procedurals or penalties?
  5. The_Vigilante explained it correctly. My thoughts were: 1 procedure for shooting an extra target before the reload and 1 penalty for each of the two shots fired before the reload. No penalties for engaging the same target in the second part of the string. He already has been penalized in time, not for following the stage description and the penality for each shot fired before the reload. In my mind he was just trying to satisfy that the required targets were engaged on the right side. This happened to me and I need to know how to call it the next time is comes up.

  7. Thank to all who replied. This is truly the most valuable information site.
  8. I am loading for several guns. The one I have the most trouble finding loading data for is the 40 cal. I am looking for loading data for 145 grain cast bullets to be shot from a race gun. I have Power Pistol for the powder. Any suggestions for a manual or any other information would be greatly appreciated.
  9. I think you need to keep the upper right hand corner over a little more than midway approximately
  10. I load and load and load and eventually I can't find them anymore. Maybe someone else picked them up and started the whole process over again.
  11. I have a Para P16 40 that i have been loading for and it has been having failer to feed problems. I loaded at 1.125" COL to 1.135" COL and maybe one out of every mag has problems. I have loaded bot RN FP and TC. The bullet that jam appears to have a crease just above the end of the brass. Do I need to load shorter or longer?
  12. Does anyone have any loading data on Power Pistol. 180 grn lead flat point. Minimum to Maximum loads?
