    SP01 Shadow and RMR

Is an RMR mountable on an SP01 Shadow slide if you don’t need the option for other optics? That is, dedicate the slide to the RMR?
  3. I got in one of Bob's double-thickness holsters and have been shooting with it for a few months. It's super rigid and doesn't bind. Highly recommended. It worked out of the box without any fiddling.
  4. Skills & Drills (28/29 March) is full. Already got one dude on the wait list.
  5. I'm particularly interested in seeing if the magazine well has been enlarged.
  6. Two spots left on Fundamentals (26/27 March), two left on Skills & Drills (28/29 March).
  7. I like the CZ Custom sight pusher because it easily slips in my range bag. It gives fine control of movement for centering fixed sights.
  8. Slim safety. You won’t activate it accidentally. Tactical rear. Obscures less of the target. Thin Dawson front. Fast up close, won’t cover plates and mini poppers at distance. VZ Diamondback grips. Grippy as hell.
  9. Four spots left on Fundamentals (26/27 March), two left on Skills & Drills (28/29 March).
  10. Yeah, stock safety on the current Shadow is a nightmare—super easy to activate accidentally when establishing a high grip, particularly when shooting one handed. I fit thin safeties on mine after this happened a few times. Downside to them is less control when shooting one handed. The Tanfo safety seems much better in this regard.
  11. Skills & Drills is $550 but four students. Email me for details.
  12. I think that the CZ magazines are made from softer metal than the Mec-Gar ones. I've relegated my CZ magazines to dry-fire practice and do all my live fire with Mec-Gar 17-round AFC ones.
  13. Also have a Skills & Drills class on 28/29 March. Email me (andreas@yank.to) for details and availability.
  14. You're running an extended firing pin, right? Also, firing pin needs to be replaced periodically, as it shortens over time. around 20k rounds is a safe place if you're doing lots of dry firing.
  15. I'm running an 11.5# hammer springs in my SP01 Shadows and just started digging into my stash of S&B primers. Zero problems so far. Are you seating your primers below the level of the case head? I have my 1050 set to smash them into the pocket.
  16. SP01 Accu Shadow from the good folks at CZ Custom after 43,945 rounds.
  17. Trigger-return springs from CZC and CGW are both far more durable than the factory one. I've never broken an aftermarket one but replace them every 10k live rounds, which includes some ridiculous number of dry-fire pulls.
  18. Reverse that, lighter bullets will impact lower. For the same POI / POA you might need a shorter front sight with 115 grain. Dammit, yes. Might need a taller front sight with 147s.
  19. Got one of these installed on my Accu Shadow. It makes a real nice combo with a .215" tall, .090" wide Dawson front sight. The sight is a few clicks off bottomed out with a 15-yard zero shooting 125 gr. bullets @ 130 PF. You may want a slightly taller front sight shooting 115 gr. ones.
  20. Trigger-return springs for sure. Their floating trigger pin makes it a zillion time easier to replace this part. I personally run CGW 13# recoil and 11.5# main springs in my SP-01 Shadows. I actually prefer the standard-weight TRS from CZC as I feel the extra return power reduces short-stroking the trigger when hammering close-range targets.
  21. I've passed 40k round in my Accu Shadow and 10k in my backup Shadow. Worn extractor: make sure it's not gunk building up under the extractor and interfering with its operation. I go in with a dental pick and clean it out every 5k rounds or so. You can't just blast it out with brake cleaner, you have to pull the part and get in there. CZ Custom and CGW both sell TRSs that will last 10k rounds with copious dry fire. I prefer the heavier CZC model. Less chance of trigger freeze when shredding close targets IMO. I've never broken a slide stop but change mine every 10k rounds along with the main and recoil springs. I'm running a 11.5# main and 13# recoil (124gr. bullet, CCI primers). The firing pin does shorten over time. I replace mine at 20k rounds along with the spring. This is also with dry firing most every day.
  22. All my CZs sport VZ Diamondbacks. Very aggressive checkering. Probably 3/4 of the CZs that I see around Atlanta have them. I like Liquid Grip for extra help with Georgia summers.
