  1. I placed an order for one back on January 3rd, last week sent an email asking for an ETA and received no reply.
  2. That sounds like an awesome build! My bike is an early build from IF and also built by Lloyd and the gang. I've got a Yeti CX rig as well that I used to race due to weight. My road bike ironically is a Moots Compact built in the early 2010s. My hardtail is a Seven Sola that needs to be sold and replaced with a full suspension rig, I just hate selling it which is why it's still in the stable.
  3. I have an IF cyclocross bike that I raced for years and wouldn't sell or trade it. The bike is heavy as hell but I love riding a steel framed rig.
  4. It was nice to meet you as well @Reds_Dot, I appreciate all that you did for me during the match. Thank you for also adding your thoughts on my first match as well, very insightful and things for me to continue to improve. Looking forward to squadding/shooting with you as well.

Thanks to you it shoots as good as it looks.
  6. Unless you were goin' all the way... Kurtz got off the boat. Much appreciated, it's going to be one hell of a journey. Thank you and I appreciate the advice, good things to keep in mind when goal setting. "You can either surf, or you can fight!"
  7. "Everyone gets everything he wants. I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one. Brought it up to me like room service. It was a real choice mission, and when it was over, I never wanted another." Not sure why that quote came to mind as I am starting this journey, but it simply resonates. The genesis of this idea to shoot competitively began many years ago and something I didn't act on for a variety of reasons. Life as a series of "missions" sometimes allows us to make excuses for not doing/trying things, taking that step into the unknown. Well, it was time to step into the void and this past December I made the decision that this is a mission I'd accept. It had candidly been years since I had taken a gun to the range and saying I needed to knock off some rust would be putting it nicely. To compound this new mission, I was coming off of a pretty serious injury from the week of Thanksgiving (2022). I had two significant fractures in my right wrist and had just come out of a cast at the end of December. My right knee was also banged up which added to the fun. As a part of the journey I discovered this place and begin devouring many of the journals, of course I was also consuming hours of matches delivered via YouTube. This combo drove me throughout December as I was moving my way to rehabbing the wrist and knee in January. With rehab underway I was making plans to attend my first match back in January. I hit the range two weeks after getting the cast off and my wrist let me know that it was not happy. Thanks to the lack of cooperation I had to withdraw from my first several matches. The mission's brakes had been pressed and I had to endure rehab for another month. Rolling into February I felt that is was time to give it a go and I signed up for a local match held on 02/19/2022. As I prepared for this match I was hitting the range to acquaint myself with my newly acquired Glock 34.5. Let's just say everything was a work in progress. Match day arrived and I rolled into the gun range with a great deal of anticipation. My goals were simply: be safe, take it slow, and have fun. This was also guidance given to me from @CClassForLife and @Reds_Dot, which was very much appreciated. I accomplished the match goals I'd laid out which is a small victory as I set out on this mission. Attached are my results. Starting from the bottom means there is only room for improvement. Match Lessons Learned Dry fire practice is critical Proper grip matters Don't introduce unnecessary variables on match day 1st Year Goals Place top 10 in local matches by end of season Achieve B class rating

I have a Vortex Venom RDS on my 34.5.
  9. Awesome man, very much appreciated. Are you by chance shooting the Temple Match tomorrow? I'm signed up and in squad 4. Hit me up if you'll be there.
  10. Much appreciated. I actually connected with @CClassForLife a little over a month ago. Weather has been a bit bonkers in Austin, so we've not been able to connect at the range since we first met.
  11. I decided to save some money to get a Volquartsen as it made the most sense for my budget. I'd prefer to get one used if I can find one in decent shape.
  12. I appreciate you posting the videos, something I need to continue working on heading into my first season of USPSA.
  13. I actually was able to get a G35.5 off this forum completely setup for CO for $1,000. Very happy with the setup and believe it will serve me well for years to come. There are deals out there, you just need to decide what you want.
  14. I just finished building a P320 with a Icarus Pro Competition frame and looking forward to getting it out on the range. Right now the weather is not cooperating.
  15. Words to live by...totally appreciate your thoughts and agree.
  16. Stretch, get a massage, stretch again .. and run a warm up lap just to be sure!
  17. There is a thread on Reddit that showed them side by side: https://www.reddit.com/r/SigSauer/comments/s4yfpe/wilson_combat_side_by_side_with_the_oem/

  19. I've been thinking the same and need to get a training schedule together, seeing this is a good reminder.
  20. Did a quick search and came up with nothing. I'd be curious to see what this new sight is all about.
  21. I'm the same and have been thinking about drills to improve this as well. In @CClassForLife training thread he talks about improving eye capabilities. It's impressive stuff.
  22. That's a pretty quick turn around all things considered.
  23. Left a message for Chet this afternoon and will follow up with an email tomorrow.
  24. After reading the article I posted above, I'm leaning towards the Scorpion if I go the Volquartsen route. I'm now also kicking around the idea of just building on the Ruger 22/45 platform and creating a Frankenrimfire.
  25. Volquartsen article: Black Mamba vs Scorpion - good read.
