Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for your input. I've purchased a 26" barrel and I'll go from there.
  2. Thanks to all for the info. There's a gun show this weekend and I'll be looking for a 26" barrel.
  3. I'm new to 3-gun having shot only 5 matches. I'm shooting Limited with a G35 and a V3 Weaver scope on an AR15. The shotgun issue has been trying. I'm now using the 11-87 with the 18" barrel and need to have the barrel threaded for Remchoke and a new sight for the front end; but prior to more investment, I was hoping for a little advice from this group. I used the 11-87 Saturday and it shot everything: slugs and #6 Remington Shurshot heavy dove loads. The gun cycled fine, although my score for six slug rounds at 85 yards was a dismal 1 of 6. Most of the group uses anywhere from 26" to 22" barrels. In your experience is the 18" barrel just a more difficult gun to shoot? and is there any opinion on rifled barrels such as the Hastings 24" fully rifled? Thanks for your assistance.
  4. Thanks for all the helpful advice from all. I finally got the gun to cycle with the addition of a "Barrel Seal Activator" part from the 11-87 Super Magnum parts line. Prior to installing the activator, I replaced the barrel seal; made sure that the gun was clean and lubed; and bored out the barrel gas ports with a 7/64's drill to .109". The gun cycled with 2-3/4" #2s. Not happy that I have to use the activator, but it works now. Bill T.
  5. If some of you who have had problems with the 11-87 could please give me the benefit of what you have learned, I'd appreciate it. I have a new gun with a 23" barrel and added a quick release. I've drilled the gas ports out with a 7/64" drill (.109) but I still can't get the gun to run. It will cycle with the 3" magnum loads but will not function with a 2-3/4" Heavy Field Load 1-1/8oz of #6s. Can the gas ports be opened even farther? I have a Seal Activator coming but what happens when you shoot slugs? Does anyone have the name and part number for the elongated quick release button used on the 1100 CM? Thanks for your help. Bill T.
  6. I did get an email on Nov 1 from Mark B. indicating that he was still delivering goods.
  7. Does anyone know if this company is still in business? Dillon advertised the gear but everything is backordered. There is no response via email or phone messages? Thanks
  8. I'm new to 3-gun and have an 11-87. I'd like to have a 22" -24" barrel; however, it does not appear to be available for the gun? I'm assuming then that most use a 21" barrel. Is this correct? thanks
