Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Is there a formal rating system for multi-gun matches (GM, M, A, etc.) or does one use their USPSA rating? I'm new to multi-gun and have been indicating "U" as my rating. Should I be using my USPSA rating?
  2. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I ended up going with the Lee undersized sizing die, which has done the trick.
  3. I've loaded close to 100,000 rounds of 40 cal major in my Dillon XL 650 and I can't remember the last time I had a round fail to chamber. I drop test them in a Dillon case gauge before matches and they always fall in fully and drop out easily. However, I recently switched over to 45 cal and I'm experiencing a inordinate number of rounds that fail to drop. They get stuck in the case gauge at a rate of 10% or more. I figured this was an issue related to the Crimp Die in Station 5, so I've been adjusting it up and down but I'm still experiencing the problem. Any suggestions?
  4. Follow up on this thread to say that I finally decided on the Kahles k18i with the IPSC reticle. I was able to find a demo model at $500 off retail, though it certainly looks brand new to me. LOVE it!
  5. That does look interesting. Much lighter. The new model is mentioned here for anyone that isn't familiar with PA (I wasn't): Taking a closer look at Primary Arms
  6. Anybody care to share their thoughts on the latest 'best 3 gun scope'?
  7. Oh, and the C-More C3 now has a retail of $2k but is on sale at $999.
  8. It looks as though the price for the Vortex 1-10 Razor has risen quite a bit in the last two years. The only 1-10 on the Vortex website is the Razor HD Gen III at $3600. Yikes. The Razor Gen II-E is a 1-6 scope at $2,000. Meanwhile, I'm seeing the Kahles K18i 1-8 going for $2550. Has Kahles prices come down in the last two years? I'm leaning towards the Kahles. Any thoughts or alternatives would be appreciated.
  9. I plan to have a competition-oriented shotgun built out for me. Right now, I'm trying to decide between Dissident Arms, Hayes Custom Guns, or Hawkeye Ordnance. I wanted to first ensure there isn't anyone local that can do it, but no luck there so far, so I'll probably go with one of those three known entities. Until then, I'm using an old Remington pump. Not exactly competitive, but it'll be fun nonetheless. I'm surprised the make of the gun would make a difference. I figured everyone using over the counter shot shells would be gravitating towards the same charge and shot size.
  10. I load my own pistol rounds as a long time USPSA shooter, but I'm just trying multi gun for the first time. To start off, I'll use factory shot shells. What do guys generally use as far as shot size and charge?
  11. Checking out there website now. Appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks so much.
  12. I'm ready to take my 3 gun AR to the next level with high quality (and cost, I'm sure) parts for flat, fast shooting. I'm looking for a low mass bolt carrier group, compensator, tunable gas block and buffer system. All kinds of choices out there, but I'd really love to find a competition-oriented retailer that can provide these items with the advice and knowledge of what works well together for my gun. Does such a retailer exist or am I going to have to piece this together from various sources and hope it all works well? Appreciate any advice.
