  1. contact Peter Dawson, he is a disttributor and a member of this forum. I got a mag catch for my Bul. do a search for him. good luck Also go the Bul website and look for dealers, he is listed there also.
  2. make no mistake about it, S_I frame are whole different ball game. Kimber polymer do not campare to the S_I frames!!!! Here in Calif, a Kimber polymer gun will cost you what just a S_I frame would if you can get one!
  3. Does anyone use a Kimber polymer for IDPA? I just got one with 4 mags for a good price and started using it in IDPA. Some say its a junkie gun and they're. But others say its a good low budet wide body. I thinks its not bad. They need some work. I did get a mag catch from Pete Dawson from overseas, had a match bushing installed along with a STI hammer and sear. Shooting 230 FMJ with 4.1 Clays, 15 lb recoil spring/18lb MSpring. This one is the Bul M5 model, so it has the square trigger guard and trigger not the standard 1911 part. I added some JB weld to the trigger to get the slop out of it and installed a trigger stop at the back of the trigger, only because I didnt want to spend on the GunCraft Para triggers that will fit! Maybe later I will. Para mags do fit, I cut the mag slot one to match the Kimber mags and it took about 5 minutes with a demel tool and file. The fit my Kydex 1911 holster easily. If I do my part, will group at 25 yards, two inch groups with the stock barrel. Because it is a light gun, it is very fincky in regards with trigger pressure when shooting groups. For fast shooting, I really dont notice any difference with the splits compared to my other 1911s. Easily, do 7 yards Bill Drills under the 2 sec. mark. Why use one, I dont really know, only that I ve seen some posts on this gun and thought of it as a low 10 rd or hi-cap gun. Its all good, I guess!
  4. Jasmap, nice gun! What barrel did you use?
  5. reminder me of summer is coming!
  6. I had a Sig 9mm ST once, but the accuracy was near what my Canyon Creek XD 9mm was putting out. i sold it! And I really dont regret it.
  7. does the Safariland 773 mag pouch, meet the IDPA rules? I need some for a Para. thanks
  8. Can the M1A magazines be modified to work in AR-10 receivers? IF so, what needs to be done? Is it worth doing? thanks
  9. where did you get the triggers? thanks
  10. who built the gun? is that a steel comp? bull or bushing barrel? thanks nice gun!
  11. I spoke to Ross, last night and he doesnt want to fool around with them anymore. just a thought of using optices for a steel gun. I saw one on Ebay. thanks for all the replies.
  12. does anyone use them anymore for a Open or Steel gun? I doubt it but was wondering of getting one cheap. thanks
  13. Dirtypool, would like to see more of your gun! Who built it? Some closeups, looks cool! thanks

  15. where can you get Young MFG carriers? thanks
  16. Can we see more photos of this 6" gun built by Kevin Toothman? Am in agreement with "ihatepickles" about being the first 6" gun to own. Most of them dont really catch my interest but this one is different. thanks what barrel? Bull or straight?
  17. I have handled afew BS guns and I feel they would need some reworking to the slide/barrel area and of course, trigger work. Once you did some work, am sure it would be a great shooting gun. As far as for SC, I did shoot it once with my SV 40 with a long DC and by the end of the match I felt tried and thought a lighter gun is needed. just my .02 cents.
  18. Amen, very well said and all true!!!!!!! I don't want to reload to 21 round mags especially, but I start with 21+1 and reload to 20 round mags. If 42 rounds won't get the job done, then there's a bigger problem out there. sometimes there too much attention being put into how many rounds can you get out of mag. Like what you said.
  19. I'm hearing that the sleeve solution won't work with an Aftec, because of the way the Aftec needs to pivot and work with the firing pin stop. I'm sure there's 50 ways to sleeve the extractor channel though, so perhaps my information is just anecdotal. Even with that consideration I'm sure a lot of PXT owners would be happy with a traditional extractor that functioned 20,000 rounds between replacement. forget the Aftec, just use a standard tool steel extractor.
  20. spoke to the guys at Accuracy Speaks in Mesa, they can fit a sleeve to the slide for a standard extractor! So, if you really want to cure the problem it can be done.
  21. What would you pay for a TRI frame (before STI) with a Springfield Armory top end in 45acp? Its has a Barsto bushing barrel with Bomars, no magwell and no magazines. When you rack the slide it is kinda of feels rough, not smooth. One last thing I live California. I was thinking of selling the top end and built a 40sw Limited gun. Price 1,000 dollars. thanks
  22. was there a dropped shot on a swinger from the super squad but not scored from the RO and not admitted by the shooter? not sure what stage. wondering whether to mentioned it or not but...
  23. Is there a cure for the new Para X-tractor? When it breaks are there replacements or other options other than sending it back to Para? thanks
  24. I like the idea of the swinger in the garage.
  25. what would experienced IDPA shooters suggest for practic? I do the reloads and draws from concealment but what else??? thanks
