I agree! You can still do a pseudo live feed by adding various feeds to my RSS reader. This is an added bonus for me because I can't get to the site from work, but can get the feeds.

+1 I keep getting requests for it, but haven't really checked it out.

Is the Saiga 12 the new choice for 3 gun open division?
LdyGunner replied to PistolPete's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Um.. you can use the Saiga in Open already -
I almost posted this same hate thread last weekend. Got stuck in the Phoenix airport last Saturday and they were unable to get me home until Monday night. I had three flights canceled that they re booked me on . I missed 3-Gun again - this is the second month in a row I have missed 3-Gun because I've been stuck in the airport.

I was able to do all my mods myself. It's not that hard at all.

You're always supposed to have more than one! I know what you mean about waiting though... can't wait for my new open gun to get here. Will have to make due with what I've got on hand until it gets here, and have a new shotgun coming this weekend which should take care of the new gun itch just enough to be able to tide me over while the new open blaster gets hard chromed.

I don't see what the problem you all have with your wives is. I'm the one who has to figure out how to sneak new guns into the house around here... I am also far too often afflicted with the new gun itch (at least according to my other half).

I sooo agree with this rant. I get frustrated when dealing with the "tacticool" types. I find them even more annoying when I run into them in person in gun stores than on forums.

C'mon post the pictures... we know you have them!

Best medicine is sleep my friend.... especially at this hour! Hope you feel better soon.

Is the Saiga 12 the new choice for 3 gun open division?
LdyGunner replied to PistolPete's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Can't speak for everyone, but it is going to be for me. Pulling everything together now so my new pistol and my shotgun will all be ready for next season. I've been wanting one of these for over a year and my other half insisted that they would never catch on and it would be a waste. He said I couldn't until someone else at our club actually got one. Well guess what's started showing up at more and more matches lately. I love my Benelli, and no doubt if I shoot limited I'll use it, and it will get plenty of use during skeet and hunting season, but for Open I want the Saiga. I think there are some folks who are probably faster with their tube guns because they're used to them, but I am just much more comfortable with a mag fed shotgun that's more rifle-like. To each their own. Can't wait to get mine set up. -
I agree - this is just awesome looking! I love the slide racker too. I wasn't so much scared of cutting into the firing pin as how the extra weight on the slide might effect on cycling since regular .22 doesn't pack that much power. How does it shoot?

Fortune 30 IT background, but whatever; I wasn't trying to get into a conflict over computer stuff, and I was just trying to provide her a non-commercial option since that's what she asked for, and she's a fellow shooter. I come here because I like the reloading forum, and enjoy shooting USPSA. Since you're the expert, please help her out. Just wondering - what background in computer security do you have in computer security that qualifies you to make that statement? And by patches, it obviously means OS Commerce, the operating system and all other components.

Hi ShooterGrrl, I've done some work with OSCommerce and you can set it up to use whichever payment gateway you'd like. There are mods for just about all of them. It's pretty easy to work with and it's open source so at least the cart part is free. Drop me a PM if you want. I'm sure I can probably walk you through getting the basics set up, and you do web-design so you'd likely be fine from there.

We'll definitely miss you if you decide to go, but I totally get wanting to get out of this state. The only reason I'm still here is I haven't talked Smokey into moving.

Setting Up A Private Forum
LdyGunner replied to Blockhead's topic in Computers, Cameras, and Electronic Devices of Any Kind
I'd actually set up more than just a forum for project management. I'd do a whole CMS with shared documents with comments and version control, tracking, announcements, job aids etc. I designed, implemented and run one of these for my current project out of sheer necessity. I've got 300 or so users on the project across three continents, and we use the portal for everything from tracking deliverables, invoicing and reporting in addition to discussion forums and collaboration via IM. It's a really effective. There are also open source options out there that you can use to set them up. Joomla, Drupal, PHPNuke, PostNuke etc. SharePoint WSS 3.0, that can be used to develop something similar without having to worry about licensing costs or custom builds. That way a forum becomes part of a larger project management collaboration system. -
Congrats!

Are you man enough?...or the myth of a pink gun
LdyGunner replied to GentlemanJim's topic in The Gallery
Well if we're showing off our pink guns I guess I should throw mine in the mix. I don't even like the color pink - I just find it terribly ammusing that the guys don't even want to set their rifles next to mine on the rack because it might be catching or something.... -
Hi Jim, Shawn's going to be shooting wheelie too (You saw the 25-2), and it looking like Johnny U may too. Heck if I can convince Shawn that a 610 is a good idea for me until I decide what to do with what is left of my open gun after the WIIT, I might too. There are also 2-3 other wheelgunners out there who more often than not get squadded with us. You're more than welcome to join our Squad! Someone's got to keep Shawn in line!
