  1. Hey there, I am shooting an XD 9 Tactical 147 grn over 3.6grn bullseye, (from the Lee Loading Book) Performs very well in my gun recoil is not bad, and punches 2" hole at 25yds This load is good for me, but I am new to this load. The past load I was using was over Accurate powder #5, but my dealers can not get thtis for me now. I have my first match this weekend with this new load, but again all my practice has been promising.
  2. I don't know too much about the 24/7 line, but I own a pt99afs. When the gun works it is fine. But I broke the rear sight over the summer and have been waiting for them to come in from back order. This is the second time this has happened to me. So just a word of advice if it breaks or needs to be sent to Taurus, it will be a LONG time before you see it again. The first time it broke, it took them 6 months to replace the rear sight. So I hope you have better luck than I
  3. Hi Wide45. When I can get to our next match I am going to try to talk with the other fellows there. Due to my work and school schedule It is going to be about a month before I can get to another match. I am also waiting to get my pistol back in service, broke my rear sight. Some of the guys I have talked to have told me to concentrate on the "a's" and the speed will come in time. I have just recently had the perverbial light come on as to seeing the front sight. I think this is why my shots are more often in the a zone and a slower time has come. As they say if you want to get to Carnegie Hall, practice practice practice. So for now thaat is what I am trying to do. The forum has help quite abit and folks like yourself make it a great place for the new guys like me. Dave
  4. I started shooting USPSA this year and have received a "d" classification in production. I started shooting at a local club 2 years ago that was just raw time (no affiliation with anyone) and was doing ok. This year I got hooked up with USPSA and have been doing very well for my first year, but I am seeing something that is bothering me. When I started this year, I was placeing in the 1/2 position of the matches for production with times and scores close to the winners(in class). But what I am finding now as I practice and shoot more, I am getting more "A" hits but my times are going down. This in turn causes my placement in the match to go down as well. I am wondering if I am focasing on "A's" to much, and if I should try to pick up the pace or keep working on shoot placement and let the time be what it is. Any advice on this topic would help. I have a lofty goal of being the best production class shooter in the state. I feel like I have hit a plateu and can't get over it Dave S
