  1. I was reading this last night and literally laughing loud out loud. My wife asked what was so funny and I told her it was something Ramsey had posted about work. I just read the post to her and she laughed hard like I had for about 3 minutes. She just said...."OMG,that poor lady" while laughing and shaking her head.
  2. Merlin is explaining the merits of doing a search on a common topic. Many times a search will yield the answers you are seeking rather starting a repetitive topic. Just FYI for future topics. Its considered good practice.
  3. None of the Browning barrels will work. They are specific to Browning. But the SX2 and SX3 barrels are the same. The chokes on the SX2 and SX3 are Invector Plus. The standard SLP barrels use regular Invector chokes. FN also sells a 24, 26 and 28" vent rib barrel for the SLP's that use Invector Plus chokes. I also hear they will have a 22" vent rib soon or may already have.
  4. I haven't shot my limited gun but 4 or 500 rounds since putting the slim aluminum grip on it. I love the improvement in feel and feedback from the gun. This news kinda sucks.
  5. Yes....they appear to be the same.
  6. Upon comparison of the old and new striker assembly....I removed both springs and compared them. Both appear to be the same. The foot of the striker assembly seems as if it may preload just .050" more That may be enough preload to increase striker force and give the impression of a stronger spring. Wire diameter is .029" on both They are both 23 coils Both measure 2.15"
  7. I think the actual spring on the striker is now stronger.
  8. While I don't have a weight for the JP VTAC tube...I do for the VTAC TRX by Troy. Its 12.7 ounces with the barrel nut. My PRI carbon fiber 12" tube weighs 12.3 with the barrel nut. The TRX is very slim and sturdy as well. One huge benefit of the TRX series of rails is the slim profile of them. I've been at matches where they cut slots for you to shoot through and my PRI carbon fiber handguard would not fit through to allow a good braced position. The TRX series would have fit through those slots with no issue. Its a nice rail with a super slim profile and a great feel. I have 13" rails on both of my Noveske competition guns as well as Rob and Jansen on their guns. Looking forward to the new custom rails that Troy is making for the team this year. They will be slick. The 13" rail covers half of my gas block on the rifle gas upper
  9. This is the first one I've come across that was in a Pro that I just finished a trigger job on.
  10. That is where you sharply drive the butt of the gun into the ground while keeping the muzzle in a safe direction. The inertia will clear all jambs except the one where you get two shells out of the magazine tube and onto the lifter at the same time.
  11. Lube both sides of the bolt slide rails generously. Also lube the bolt where it attaches to the carrier. there is a small hole in the bottom inside edge of the ejection port. Thats the lube hole for the outside rail. Lube it and cycle it 10 times and then repeat again. Mine is pretty wet. And don't use something too thick. Mobil One,Gun Butter, Slip2000 EWL, Militec will all work fine. No greases.
  12. Check the piston very good. I've seen a few lately that are seized up and had a broken spring. Disassemble and check real well. Do not touch the gas ports. The gas ports are already oversized. The piston regulates the gas. The best solution at this point may be to send the piston to SureCycle and let them replace the spring with a spacer. As of late....the guns I've come across that do not cycle have been piston related. Take the forearm and piston and everything off the gun and check the magazine tube for straightness as well. I've seen one that was installed crooked and impeded piston movement.
  13. HOLY CRAP!!! Glad you're alright Mike. That could have turned ugly fast. Were yo able to finish the match with all that stuff in yer drawers? All kidding aside.....glad you are alright. I know its a lesson learned for all.
  14. Great match......glad we made the trip over to shoot it. Glad You and Roger stepping up to revive Moss Branch. Keep the matches comin'
  15. Ahhhh....I'm late to the party. But none the less....THANKS a ton Brian for providing this place for us. Your hard work, time, money and compassion are most appreciated.
  16. It already comes with a factory 8 round tube but Nordic makes a +1 and a +2 extension for it.
  17. Thanks Scott......you've helped me end my worrying. Basically they are the same weight. My Pro with Dawson Adjustable sights is 13.7 ounces weighed the same way you did yours.....without barrel or recoil spring assembly but striker in place.
  18. When I had my Benelli I would slide my support hand backwards on the foregrip and knife edge the bolt handle with my pinky and ring finger to cycle the action and I could quickly replace my support hand back on the foregrip and be back in the game. With my Winchester SX3.....same technique in movement but I use my index finger to hook the bolt handle. The recoil spring of a gas gun is much harder to overcome and the hook gives me more strength and leverage to cycle that type action. That has been the most efficient and effective way to clear a simple feed or extraction issue for me. I'm not a fan of removing my firing grip from the weapon unless absolutely necessary.
  19. That's where Magpul's next invention comes in, the AFG-BW (advanced fore grip - body worn). This larger version of the AFG is two feet long and stands 18" high. It is designed to be mounted on a chest rig picitiny rail. When using the AFG-BW, if the shooter goes prone, the wedge shape tilts his upper body upwards and stabalizes it in a raised position allowing proper monopoding off of straight bodied magazines up to 95 round capacity. It may sound kind of novel, but the physiological approach to the supination of the spine should lead to a more natural comfortable shooting position. As a bonus, if used for long periods of time, such as in a sniper overwatch role, the shooters legs go completely numb making for a more comfortable watch period. And remember....this isn't tennis.......they bring the unfair advantage to the battlefield
  20. LA1 will get you 10% off an order of $150 or more Thats the code being given out this year Be sure and link through Brian's site to place your order
  21. Since this thread does not follow the intent of the forum and is borderline political....I'm gonna go ahead and lock it down.
  22. Go to Nordic's dealer forum. They have a FAQ on tube selection. But yes....I'm pretty sure the +6 is flush with the 24" barrel. CPWSA usually has a good selection of Nordic tubes.
  23. trying to get my next reshoot

  24. Yep.....I took that page from Whiskey's recipe book too.
  25. They are expected to start delivering them around March......but that should mean more like June.
