  1. Check out www.shootactionpistol.com I’m trying to get matches added to the calendar - but I have them all linked to the clubs hosting matches that I know about.
  2. Just curious what’s most common at The Cup. Everyone I know shooting open is using 115gr with Titegroup. I started messing with other powders…Sport Pistol, Competition, No. 2, Win 231/244… Maybe 124’s? Just curious what others are shooting before I see if it’s worth it to run down the rabbit hole.
  3. Correct…KKM doesn’t offer a .355 bushing Clark/Para barrel with anything other than 1/2x28, so that’s what I went with. So am I stuck? Or is there anything else?
  4. I’ve been trying to find a new compensator for my Bianchi open gun. It’s got a KKM barrel, 1/2x28 threads and I’m having a heck of a time finding many options. Other than what I have now (ZR Tactical) all I’m seeing is a Tandemkross, and some 2011 comps. Any suggestions?
  5. Are the Dillon mats listed on their website the same used at the cup? The ones on the website look much darker than I recall. Just want to make sure before I order one. I’ve experimented with a lot of different mats, but I guess I should use what we use at the cup. Thanks!
  6. Hey Warren! Does the match start at 8:30? Or registration at 8:30? I’m in Columbia, so just planning my morning. Thank you!
  7. Is Hogue the only company making a case large enough to fit an open gun? I’ve struck out several times trying to get a case for my open gun that isn’t sitting it in my range bag.
  8. Just how much cash to bring and if there’s any kind of sign up. I assume once I get to the gates I’ll know where to go. Thank you!!!
  9. Anyone shoot at Pioneer? Planning to go to their monthly match on Sunday but can’t find any info other than time.
  10. At Crawfish I saw Bruce had mag carriers that held two mags side by side. Any idea the brand? I can’t find them, or anything similar online. Thanks!
  11. I went ahead and opted to shoot 9mm…I tried a buddy of mines’s Colt, and even with 10 rounds, reloading and stage planning was a pain. So, I ordered a Girsan 1911 to goof around with. I’m not very serious about USPSA. My game is NRA Action Pistol but I like to support all the sports, and my clubs activities. It’s a mental trip for me..I just can’t square it away in my mind to shoot anything other than alpha’s…so caliber doesn’t have much effect on my score until I can figure out the mental part of accepting shooting fast enough to throw a few Charlie’s. Thanks guys!
  12. Rock Island sells ramped .45 barrels in their online store, so I’m assuming at least one of their models must be ramped.
  13. Thinking about switching to shooting single stack…just curious if most are shooting major and taking the hit on capacity or minor and taking advantage of the extra rounds.
  14. Anyone know which RIA .45’s are ramped?
  15. Hi All, Before writing NROI I thought I’d ask here if anyone knew if clones were covered under production. I have a Rock Island STK100, a Glock 17 clone (aluminum frame, 1911 grip angle) and I’d love to shoot it in CO but Rock Island doesn’t seem to be interested in submitting the NROI paperwork. I'm also thinking along the lines of something like the Girsan Regard, could it be covered under the Beretta flag. thanks!
  16. I think it’s the angle of the pad for me. I might need to shave the angle. But it’s on Hobbie’s metallic long slide right now. Hobbie’s still got my open gun, so we’ll see for Crawfish and then I’ll try and get it adjusted how I light for Bianchi. It could all change. hmmm…adjustable base plate? Double stack prone pad still in the works?
  17. Shooting my first Crawfish and Bianchi Cup this year. I have a Protocall Prone Pad with a flat plate installed on the bottom. I often find myself needing to build of the ground a bit under my mat to get sights on target. I’ve read somewhere on here that there are some restrictions on how you’re allowed to manipulate the ground under the mat. Any thoughts? Can I scoop a little extra gravel under my mat?
  18. The word from Troy… Question: Would it be legal in Production or CO to modify the grip angle of a Glock by cutting/sanding the backstrap? …there is a jig that allows one to cut the hump from the backstrap of a Glock and mold/reform the cut piece to then be stippled or glued back into place. I cannot find a ruling on a modification of this degree. Answer: Yes. See D4, 21.4. You can’t make a mag well or beaver tail.
  19. I went ahead and emailed NROI to see if I can get an official ruling of some kind. I’ll let you know!
  20. I recently saw OT Defense has a jig to modify a Glock to have a similar presentation to a 1911. Looking at CO Rules, it would seem this would be allowed, but curious if anyone has any specific experience with this, or knowledge of a ruling I can’t find? I shoot NRA Action Pistol, and recently started shooting USPSA with a double stack 1911. I’ll eventually play in Open because, why not, it’s a game. I have a Glock 34 that’s built for racing, but if I can’t correct the grip angle without issue, I’ll grab a P320 Max or X5 Legion and be done with it. thanks!
  21. I’ve had all kind of issues! I can’t figure out what the issue is but a lot of the rounds just don’t want to fully chamber. Such a waste:
  22. I’m pretty miffed with the purchase. Starline and my buddy’s Bianchi gun runs like a sewing machine. Armscor brass and it constantly doesn’t want to go all the way into battery. So it looks like I will be making a purchase here soon.
  23. Yea, I’m just going to order Starline. I’ve been advised by several Bianchi shooters to go with Starline and avoid headaches.
  24. I bought some 38 Super Nickel unprimed nickel cases from Armscor and I went to seat some Ginex SP primers today and they just will not seat all the way. (Lee Breeck Lock Pro) and I’m curious if I’m missing something. I just built a 38 Super Bianchi gun and this is my first go-round loading 38 Super. Also my first time loading new brass vs. once-fired. Until now just once-fired 9mm and .40S&W thanks!
  25. What kind of non-pistol gear are folks using for NRA AP…specifically, mats, mag pouches, etc. I shot my first NRA AP match last weekend, scored a 1567, Metallic (stock RIA 1911). My foot is broken so I shot everything standing. I’m able to practice everything at my home range except Barricade and Mover, so that was a real education. My shooting mentor is a Top 15 Bianchi Cup finisher, so this month the pistol is getting a stick shift, KKM barrel, comp, and matchdot II…he’s got a lot of gear he’s used for years but isn’t up on the newest Amazon finds!
