Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. No there is no extra slide travle on the 34 vrs 17,what I ment was the travle of the longer slide. And yes tank we promote it on the 17/22 size pistols,I am a big promoter of portted barrels on the 34/35 size pistols,we have built a lot of them that way.
  2. We have built several 34 open guns with comps,I dont promote building that setup, they are a pain in the ass to get working trouble free. I dont think its a slide weight issue,we have lightened the slides and that dosent help to much,I think it has more to do with the total travle that the slide makes.
  3. We have built a lot of Glock open 9 guns and have used several manufactures barrels, my choice are KKM and briley. We have used some storm lake barrels but not for major 9 setup, there specs vary from barrel to barrel. As far as using factory glock slides for open, there are no problems.
  4. I am not waiting any more on extra capacity 9/38 mags for the caspian hi-cap frames, We are starting to make our own extended base pads. Caspian is missing the boat on a few things.
  5. Flex,we tried the the taylor 140mm on the new style mag tubes and with our new follower mods we got 20rds but it was a little tight but usable, With the stock #6 follower it would only go 19rds. We also came up with a 40 170mm setup that held 24rds.
  6. Like I metioned in a nother post we have been doing R&D on mags & followers and we came up with a set up that will make you open shooters VERY HAPPY. A workable (we tested over 600rds with no malfunctions) a 30rd 170mm stick (30+1 starting mag)Its a little tight but works,we are still doing some testing.
  7. We have been doing some more R&D on the new Glock mags & followers,we have modified the old style +1 followers to work in the new style mag tubes and have had very good results so far.
  8. You can use the chip shooting star 10rd 38 super mags,I have used them for several years, some will work right out of the bag others need a little tuning to work.
  9. We have built several steel guns with our Alum comps and they have held up very well, Everyone is on the Ti kick (Ti Comps hold up better on Major PF Ammo) but if your going to be shooting just light steel loads a Alum comp will holdup. We use Air craft billet Alum and Hardcoat Anodizing. As far as frame mounted optics if the ejection port is lowered and the pistol set up is correct you should have no problems. We have use the low carver mounts with great results.

    Slide Racker

We dont have them listed on the website yet (was waiting to get the new on line store up & running)but we and Bobby Carver have them, they are alum and come in black & silver. They fit the factory rear sight dovetail and have a set screw.Price is 30.00
  12. We have built 3 Different R&D XD Open guns, A 4in 9mm with a frame mounted optic (modified caver mount) and our R&D Comp, A 4in 9mm with a docter & Comp, and a 5in 40 with docter & 7 port EDM ported barrel. We have got the mags up to 20+1 in 9mm and 15 +1 in 40 capactity.
  13. Yes they do,I have a S/V with one and my son has a Caspian.
  14. We have converted several 2 pin frames to 3 pin frame set up,saves a few bucks over buying a new frame.
  15. We have started installing a solid pin to replace the weak roll pin on our trigger jobs and this has worked out very well.
