  1. Did, and will do again. Used 47D's, CM's, and Metalform.

Funny thing is when I release the slide while grasping it and letting it go foward slowly they feed just as nice as can be

BTW, I'm running a 14# spring, and this load should be right at a PF of 170. I'm thiking I may try different poundage springs. just to see if it'll make any difference.

    Thanks

  2. So far I have tried Precision 147's, and now Berry's 124 gr RN DS.

With the 147's I just chalked it up as my barrel just not liking the heavier bullet. Yesterday tried the Berry's 124's over 4.2grs. of 231. Offhand at 12yds I would sometimes get one out 2.5" at 3:00, and then maybe one 3" low at 6:00 slow fire. To nullify your first thought, I can group 2.5/3" at 25 offhand with my other guns.

When I loaded the Berry's I had absolutly no gouging or stripping of the plating, and do not overcrimp.

I have not tried factory ammo yet.

Would you suggest I try some factory 1st before I come to the conclusion that I may have barrel issues?

    Thanks

  3. Not feeding. When they don't feed, the case mouth is getting torn on the barrel hood, and then I get bullet set back. I loaded these to 1.175/1.180". Much longer and they won't chamber properly.

These bullets are swaged, and when they do feed there is a slight ding on the corner of the bullet's nose.

This gun feeds everything else. 230 RN, HG68's, even 185gr jacketed SWC's

    Any suggestions?

Does my gun just not like this bullet design?

    Thanks

  4. I don't use a case gauge. Just my barrel. I too use dummy rounds to gauge the oal per bullet type, and barrel. Then back off about .010 or so, and go from there.

Right now I'm trying some Speer 200 gr SWC. for them to chamber properly in my Springfield I have to seat them to 1.175/1.180".

This bullet's nose is shorter then the standard HG68 design.

If your rounds chamber properly in your barrel (w/o being seated dangerously low), and seem to feed reliably you should be good to go.

BTW, on those MB's...make sure none of the poly-m is being gouged, or scraped as you seat/crimp them. This could lead to having issues

    Good luck

  5. Don't remember if you asked me but, I can barely get 20 in mine. 19 reloadable. With 20 I can't even rack the slide.

As far as my f/o front. I have used Dawson's w/o any issues for over a year now.

    Good luck to Mrs. D

    Oh BTW....................

  6. Not only is it a time hog, but look at the points down folks are getting on it!

This just in ... Here's the stage description. Starting with your pistol unloaded and buried in 3 feed of mud, mags are on top of a 7 yard ladder (IDPA limits the amount of movement?). On the buzzer retrieve the mags and guns, dive into the saltwater aquarium, clean your pistol and load it. Then, shoot the moving target 18 times in the head while yelling "I don't wanna be a zombie meal" and retreating .... alternating between strong and weak hands ...

J/K. I too am curious. Can't wait to get the scoop on this and everything else.

ETA: Lot of Revolvers so far, way to "represent"!

Thought that Taran's score would be in that first batch?

    Truely mis-informed about IDPA.

Nah. kdnoore has been shooting IDPA for years, as well as being one off the best SO's in our area. He's just making light of the situation.

You mean y'all don't ever have stages like that? ;)

  7. BTW, this was an IDPA match where they elected to not use a cover garment

Looks more like a USPSA match with IDPA Targets/Scoring.

Ya know....your right. I think that's why I like Black Creek's IDPA matches so much.

On warm days they won't bat an eye at throwing out cover garments.

We are getting more, and more USPSA/IDPA shooters crossing over between Black Creek and Fredericksburg (USPSA)

As far as I know the COF is still IDPA legal.

Anybody close to Richmond (Eastern Hanover Co.) on the 2nd Saturday of the month should find us and shoot. Usually 12 stages with 120 or so rounds.

  8. Tell Seth to throw rocks at Gunnar to get him out of the way so we can see you running down the range. That looked like a heck of a way to get the shooters to cut the grass at Blackcreek.

Did you go back to useing Titegroup again those shots looked almost as smokey as the ones at the Westpoint match last year?

Very smart way on KC's part to mow his lawn :goof:

231 under Precision's. I have not noticed the smoke yet while shooting. Maybe I'll go down to the beach and fire some at the sunrise

  9. Sorry wrong thread. :o

"There are a lot of people here more qualified to give you advice, so I will only give you one tip. If you can't get your hits on swingers when they are moving wait for the point they stop to go the other way. Don't chase them with the sight."

No, I think you are correct. I chased T3 both times. Good pickup, and advice

    Thanks

  10. So try and be nice.

First off my mags were not dropping. I think you'll see me lowering/shaking the gun during mag changes, and looking to see if I need to strip it <_<

With that being said I think I do need to work on keeping the gun up in front of me during mag changes.

This was one of the worst matches I've had in a few months

So other then the obvious (being slow), what else sticks out as me needing to work on.

BTW, this was an IDPA match where they elected to not use a cover garment

  11. First off.....Henning, I love your site. I go there often to view the videos

Secondly, is there anything I need to be leary of with the Witness (Match)? I have a M&P9 that I'm less then thrilled with, and may trade.

I'm guessing the primary use for this one will be IDPA ESP.

    My other questions would be....

What type accuracy, and reliablity can I expect with this?

How durable are the parts, and are they readily available?

Is there a magwell for it that fits in the IDPA box?

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  12. 50/50 mixture of peroxide, and white vinagar.

Isn't that "corrosive"? There's a reason I don't use that method, but I can't remember why. Won't it also remove blueing? (As I recall, I wanted this method to work so badly, because I've got a blued compensator that needed cleaning, but I can't remember now why I avoided it.)

I don't know if it's corrosive or not. I was told about it by a fellow shooter whom I trust.

    I works for me though.

Anyone with info please chime in

  13. Julie,

All those S&W shooters and you weren't there? What gives?

I am very proud to say that they are some of my new teammates! I stopped shooting in July because in March I will be a mom. Exciting times! I'll be back shooting as soon as I can though. I miss it way too much already!

    All the best,

    Julie

    Congratulations Julie!!!!

    +1!

I wonder how many pair's of Jr. ear muffs you'll recieve at your baby shower

    All the best!

  14. Ok going to stupid mode.. i have the same problem.. can you explain how you are scrubbing the inside of the barrel with the copper chore boy.?? My XD's are getting filled up with lead/molly from these and i have used every chemical known to main to get it but no luck.

I've had good luck with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide, and white vinagar. Plug the end of your barrel, and let it soak for about 10-15 min.

  15. I have excellent results with Berry's 124gr RN DS in all my 9mm's.

I run 3.95 gr of TiteGroup which makes about 132 power factor in my G34.

    My OAL is approximately 1.155.

    -Cuz.

    +2 for the RN

Thanks Cuz. That's the knda info I'm looking for. Guess I'm leaning towards the RN DS.

  16. Not having any luck with 147 gr "Black Bullets" . I'm going with Berry's 124 grainers next.

Do you have a preference to either there FP, HP, or RN (DS) as far as feeding, accuracy?

Also, if you have load info using either 231 or Titergroup that'll be great too.

    Thanks

  17. String 1.....After the 1st 4 shots I stood there with my thumb up my *&%#@!

    Wasted a good 3 seconds! :angry2:

    Finished with 88pts.

    20.58 sec. <_< and a Mike on T2.....Go fiqure

This was my 5th classifier shot to date. Should have been much better.

    Oh well.........
