  1. Werewolf- I think were on the same boat here. What I did on the range today was I brought 20 brass and started shooting and reloading the same brass while inspecting on pressure signs. It would bulge at the bottom like a wedding ring but once resized it came back to form. I ended my session with 12 reloads with the same brass. So far so good but I'm just not comfortable or maybe not used to this bulging on the brass but made 12 reloads til it was late in the afternoon. I'll probably load the same brass 3-4 more times and I'll retire them. Anybody experience this please chime in.
  2. New open gun built by a gunsmith AET barrel super 38 Load: 124 grains with 7.8 VV 3n37. Factor 165 My once fired case are all bulging at the bottom of the case. Checked the chamber and as we all know its got fluting and the bottom/outer part of the chamber is kinda beveled. The case itself is good except for the bottom or outer part of the chamber where the bevel is, that where the bulging in the case occurs. Is this normal with the aet in super 38 because in aet 40cal standard I dont see this kind of problem. Couldnt go lower in my load since my factor is 165 already. So what to do? Need you help here. I'll be getting my camera soon I'll post pics of the brass asap.
  3. Im building my first open race gun. currently i have a Bedell 7 port comp. Im getting a shuemann 1x32 aet barrel but i,m stuck between a hybrid port or no port. Please help my decide which barrel to get. If its a hybrid how many holes?
  4. Flex & Kruger Thanks! Really appreciate it. Keep it up.
  5. On an El Prez set up, do you ride the sight picture or do you snap your eyes to the next target? Do you do the same on a plate rack?
  6. Is it normal for the hammer strut to rub my sear spring? If not, what should I do. STI Edge C & S Trigger group and sear spring STI Titanium strut
  7. Pierruiggi, Wow! Thanks for posting the rules, now its a whole lot clearer to me. Can I use a Hiene rear sight with a Dawson fiber optic front since its a drop in?
  8. What modifications can I do that will improve my G 17 but still make it legal for IPSC Production? Grip Tape? Frt and rear sight? 3.5 connector?
  9. What's the minimum trigger pull for a production firearm in IPSC ruling? I'm planning on getting a Ralph Sotelo 3.5 kit for my G17. Since the G17 has an adjustable sight can I change it with an aftermarket adjustable sight and still make it leagl for production competition?
  10. I'll bolt the platform to the flooring which I think is the cause of my problems. Also like JFD mentioned a smoother stroke from the operator is one more thing that I should work on. Thanks again to all of you. I'll bolt the platform to the flooring which I think is the cause of my problems. 11. I havent used the spring (not the fail safe spring) for the powder bar since the reloader didnt have one when I bought it. But Ive seen a couple of buddys reloaders with powder bar spring. Since Im using the new powder bar/measure, do I still need it?
  12. Just loaded with my bnew 650 XL and was able to chrono the various loads I made. I noticed huge spreads on my reloads, something like 90 fps from the lowest to the highest. Borrowed 6 rounds from my buddy which he loads himself and got only 13 fps spread. Just FYI, I'm a noob at reloading. My platform is not bolted to the flooring, it moves a little on the down and up stroke. Another problem that may cause my spread is that I only use the fail safe rod, I have not installed a spring that attaches to the powder bar. Hope you guys can help me troubleshoot the problem. Thanks in advance
  13. Flex: I went to Jeff Masss to check on the SP2 load data, 8.0 grns on a 180 Ranier TC TCJ, 1.125, 1055, 189.9 on a glock 35. This is hot, what do you recommend as my starting point with a 180 grain head used in an Edge with bull barrel. Just want to make the minimum PF. Thanks
  14. Thanks for the tips. I would love to take up your offers but my location is somewhere in Asia. Flex: So this can be used for 40 then. Not that I'll be using these as my primary loading powder, just like to finish up whats left in my stock and use the VV320 afterwards. Thanks guys!
  15. I have in hand just 3 lbs of the SP2 and would like to know if I can use this for my .40 S & W in an STI Edge platform.
  16. I shoot limited and would very soon also try my hands in production. To be honest I dont know much about DA type pistols. I'll narrow down my options so it would be more easier for you guys to help me decide which pistol is better for production. 1. Glock 17 2. Tanfoglio 3. Springfield XD
