Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. To be honest, I am SO glad someone else is having the issue. I thought maybe I had a manufacture defect or I was losing my f'n mind. Any other rounds you had problems with? Any rounds you know work just fine? I've attached a spreadsheet here with the brands and types of shells I've tried so far. VR80 Shotgun Shell Chart.xlsx
  2. I've had issues with RIO and Fiochi 2.75" 00 Buck getting jammed into the bolt if I had about 5 rounds or more in the magazine. After taking a closer look, it looks like it's the way RIO/Fiochi crimps the end and it's a bit thicker so the bolt gets stuck on the next round as it's feeding the current one. That next round then ends up having a bit of a divot in it too. https://imgur.com/a/UUUrHAU If it was a spring issue, I believe I would have a problem with other brands but I don't. It's only certain brands. You ever see anything like this?
  3. I have the Tooth and Nail Armory handguard for the VR80. 14.25": https://www.toothandnailarmory.com/product/VR80_14.html 16.25": https://www.toothandnailarmory.com/product/VR80_16.html
  4. Looking to get an aftermarket sight to replace the stock. Keep in mind this is a Stoeger M300 Freedom Defense so the sight is a bit different that the regular M3000. The stock sight looks like this: And screws into the housing (can't think of the proper term): I was wondering if anyone has found and successfully installed any other aftermarket sight on theirs. I tried the HiViz competition and HiViz Spark 3 and neither have screws big enough that fit the stock hole/threads.
  5. Quick check: You have the regular Stoeger M3000 or the M3000 Freedom Defense? Check out MOA Precision: https://moaprecisionllc.com/product-category/shotgun-parts-upgrades/stoeger/ Parts are top-notch but customer service has been very poor for at least the last year
  6. I have experience with MOA Precision. I've got numerous parts of theirs all over my M3000 Freedom Defense. Their parts are top-notch quality. Customer service - not so much. I was able to get hold of someone late last fall by phone but that's the last time they've responded via phone and email. I've been trying to find out when they are going to get in their Lightning Load system so I can have it installed. Won't respond. I've called them at least 15 times over the last 6 months as well as submitted their Contact Us form the same amount and nothing. Not a peep. AFAIK, you can submit an order and you'll get it but that's about it. It's a shame, because I WANT to give them my money but they are absolutely NOT responding in any way, shape or form for at least 6 months now, if not more. I thought I heard the owner (Tom, I think) may have had some health issues but then who's packaging and sending the orders?
  7. Very cool with the float. Do you still use the barrel shroud that came with the rifle? I noticed that the shroud is not flush with the end of the barrel anymore on the T&N handguard like it was on the stock one. The shroud sits about 1/8" higher or so. Is that the case with you too? Just want to be sure if that is supposed to be the case or not.
  8. Probably. However, I don't know of any handguards for the VR82. If it's the same profile as the VR80, maybe the ones at Tooth and Nail will work? You can call the to find out. They're very responsive. A3gMunitions might have some too. Looking at the pictures of the VR82 it looks awfully similar to the VR80 handguard. It just might work.
  9. I am! Do have the 14.25" or the 16.5" version(s)? So far, I am happy as well. I have a remote switch to an Olight Odin, a Magpul MLOK Angle grip and a MLOK QD Clip for my sling. TBH, I haven't even shot the dang thing yet. I was replacing the magazine release button with an extended version and ended up stripping the Magazine release screw and tearing the head off. Been waiting on Advanced Tactical to get a screw in stock but it's been 4 weeks now and still nothing. So I have a brand new VR80 I can't shoot because the magazine won't stay in.
  10. Thanks for confirming for me that I made the right choice! The Hayes Brothers? Is that the Tooth and Nail Armory?
  11. Why did you pick the VR80 over the Typhoon? What didn't you like about it?
  12. have you looked at the RIA VR80? I think that gets better reviews and has wider 3rd party support.
  13. I went with the Tooth and Nail Armory VR80 14.25" Handguard: 14.25" http://www.toothandnailarmory.com/product/VR80_14.html 16.5" http://www.toothandnailarmory.com/product/VR80_16.html While the stock handguard looks awesome, three things caused me two switch: The heat. The piston is just to damn close to the handguard and I'm not a big fan of having to either wear a glove or put some s#!tty shield/covering over the handguard. The handguard should be on full display and not hidden. Why have an awesome looking handguard only to have to cover 1/2 of it up because of the heat? M LOK support. Although the sides of the handguard have M LOK slots, you can't use all of them. attaching anything to the middle M LOK slots will impede the gas piston so they're essentially useless No bottom M LOK slots if you want to put in a fore end, foregrip or hand stop. Not a real deal breaker for me, but I'm considering getting one and the stock handguard prevents that from happening. The T&N Handguard has a much wider diameter, with more room between your hand and the piston and it has M LOK support around the entire guard. And it doesn't impede the piston. Anyone else have the Tooth and Nail handguard?
