  1. Yes, most likely there are CZ/Tan. parts available for the conversion to double action, My question is why didn't Sar make their own version of these parts? or offer a "kit", since they just most likely copied their version of the single action gun? . I've read that some Sar triggers are all ready compatible for "double action" and the correct CZ/Tan. decocker levers, spring will work in the K12 & the K12 Sport??? Why was a double action version not made?.. As nice as the Sar's are, Doesn't look like they can be used in most USPSA events, other than open/limited ? because they are single action. As for "Limited" class , most would argue that "major" (40 S&W) will top "minor" (9mm) 99% of the time for scoring, who knows? Henning reportedly has a Sar K12, maybe he will know the true scoop? As far as an "open" gun, CZ Custom may have the correct combo for open?. Price a CZ Checkmate and the cost of making a K12 into an open gun... You might be surprised?...
  2. Continuation of my query, SAR K12 & the K12 Sport??? Why was a double action version not made?.. As nice as they are, Doesn't look like they can be used in most USPSA events, other than open? Even then, I can't find a barrel/compensator combo that would drop in? I don't know why a Manufacturer (Sar) would not offer this conversion and then get these models listed for USPSA competition... It would seem to be relatively simple as they mimic CZ & Tanfoglio in many ways ?. They are mistakenly listed in some Sar literature. as "Double Action?.. I have contacted "Felix" @ Sarusa, nothing yet...

  4. You will be happy & safe with the DAA set up. You could sky dive and not loose the revolver. A plus, many different gun inserts are available, so it can be used for other guns. Buy the TK moon clips ... NOT some cheepo's and be done with it... You can make a moon clip demooner from a old $3 golf club. A pair of inexpensive HF pliers can be a moon clip loader OR you can spend $$$ on the fancy stuff. Plenty of video's on trigger improvement you will want to do.... Have fun!!!
  5. I was always told.."Ya got to see dirt" on the reload
  6. Sar k12, k12 sport, any new mods?.. I have both. One has the Galloway springs in it... Haven't done the second... Macabo as good?... Not at 2 # trigger yet.. Hummm.
  7. OPPS, I didn't Know moon clips were prohibited...
  8. Reports on the GP100's are good... I'm ignorant if a moon clip version is avalibile?... That would influence me rather than barrel length but longer is my preference...
  9. Seat/crimp.. Buy from Lee or DAA
  10. Same issue but 9mm & 124/145 blue bullets .I seat & crimp (Lee die) together.I use the Lyman "m" die, you can vary the "bell"& it's depth... I'll pull a bullet and check "paint" crimp mark..... I could never get the "bell" correct with either the Dillon "F" powder drop or one of the cure-all after market dropper/bell funnels........IF, your using range brass?... Remember it can vary just a bit in OAL so there can be very slight changes + how many times it's been fire......SO, it' can be difficult to be consistant...
  11. Pretty close, had movement and faster was still better... I don't think there was much weak hand shooting. No 2011's, 9x21 & 38 Super for major. LOTS of P9's and that family later ...38 Super & the 9/10 shot mag began to evolve into 9 x 21 and higher capacity guns. Geco nickel brass was a favorite. Mags were generally about 17 rounds and not as reliable as today's (springs).. Pretty easy to knock the sticks off in the Cooper's tunnel (gun butt hitting). Rob Leatham and Brian Enos were the top shooters. It was pretty easy to fly with a gun and lf you put your ammo in Factory boxes, no questions... Mike
  12. I tell them..... "You don't know how much work it is to get old"
  13. Wow, thanks for all the input... I'm 80+ and my shooting buddy is 87+...
  14. Seems like USPSA can have all these "Rules", "Classifications", etc.... Sooooo,, why not a class called "Super Super Seniors" (Over 75 age)???.. Whats another classification?.. We have supported you LONGER than many others... I don't expect to be 1st. but won't be LAST ( MY goal)... True.. You won't have a ton of shooter's in that class BUT you might have one or two.... ( New gun on order) Mike 80+
  15. AT least once.....May cause Cancer in California?.... No,No..
  16. Perhaps' there is a glimmer of hope for more?... MAYBE, I could also do a review?.. I'd even shoot it upside down ala Jerry Miculek...
  17. Interesting, thanks for the reply... Using a Ruger revolver seems to be like swimming against the current?. I had a very early S&W 929, never was a favorite. Soooo, here I am, lost in Ruger land.... I have someone at Ruger trying to open the gate and set one free...
  18. Anyone besides Jay and David?... Pretty sad when none for sale on even "GunBroker".??...
  19. That barrel length might be a bit slow/long on the draw?... A S&W 625 x .45 maybe a better choice in the long run... BUT If your happy GO for it!
  20. Don't go to big....Must be bright in the sunlight (The cheep ones usually aren't). That's one good thing about C-More's railway or direct mount with interchangeable modules from 3 to 16 @ $50 a pop.... Mini dots usually are not changeable. Then again, it depends on what gun your using.. I use a 3 or a 6 on most every firearm. DON'T go to high. Look at a buddie's..
  21. Toolguy, Thanks for the info!....
  22. Pics added... BIG difference in carbide mill quality... I have the shims, spare dogs, 1 ea. extra hammer (Supposed to be the correct ones)... I was supposed to have the Factory 9mm by now BUT< BUT, "she" is a no show as of 6/27/22. I'm told that the 357's were more popular, I may have to take what I can find (At this point, NADA). JAY, Looks like you have the game pretty well figured out, keep it going! Mike
  23. You can lighten the hammer somewhat... BUT you need true carbide end mills AND cutting oil AND extremely low cutting speed.. I have a HF mini mill ( I call the "Destroyer")... It's still a work in progress. That SS is some tuff stuff!! EDM would remove more metal versus what can be removed by milling holes but most machinist's aren't going to mess with so small a project?... I bought 2 hammers and am not satisfied with the 1st. one... Yes, I will put up pics when I get better.... Now to find a REVOLVER!!!
  24. Well that didn't last long??...
