  1. About the Revolver optics buzz... Why not just leave the iron sight/optic sight issue die, BECAUSE if the optic sight IS superior?.. We will all buy one anyhow. There aren't that many revolver shooters anyway... IF you "beat" me using iron sights and I'm shooting optics?. Your just a better shooter. LEAVE Revolver, revolver WITH any choice of sight system.
  2. MAY the ALMIGHTY bestow millions and millions of Federal 100 primers @ $.02 cents on the Revolver world!!
  3. Jay, my eyesight is the only reason I would and do prefer the optic sights.... (All my other competition guns have "red dots). In my case, I can't clearly see rear sight while the front sight is more visible ( the HI VIS rear insert has helped a lot). You and I know that the Ruger GP 100's are rare. In the Ruger revolver world, even having one is uncommon. At least, in ICORE there is a class for the optic, not so in USPSA unless you go to open class where there is a huge disadvantage . In the "Super Super Senior Class world " (Are you listening USPSA?). I'd probably have 2 each Ruger 8 shots, one for each configuration if any more ever appear as rummer's go?...
  4. HERE comes the re-birth of 10 shot revolver.?... I must need one??.. Just getting my new Ruger Super GP 9mm up & running... Oh well... Mike
  5. ME too, I at least check every 9 mm barrel. Not all need anything but now and then one will, usually near the case mouth. #2. Seems the profile on the painted bullets does make a difference .... OAL is normally a bit shorter. Shockbottle all.
  6. !!! MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!.... May 2023 bring an abundance of Federal 100 primers for all....
  7. HA, seems I'm guilty of stepping on my on moon clips, more often than not.... ICORE shooter's are more careful than USPSA shooter's it seems. Mike
  8. watching, I must need one
  9. Yes, I know that. I'd wondered if the Lee "U" die could be at fault as it's shrinking all cases about .003 then the Lyman "M" die cant open the brass as much as when using a regular 9mm de-cap die...?. Then why is the Federal nickel plated brass that much better all things the same? More testing to come. Thanks, Mike
  10. I'm having some difficulty trying to do this. The cases seem to distort near the middle of the brass and won't gauge after being reloaded. The bullet is .356. Lyman "M" die used in this tool head..... I have several 9mm set ups w/ their own set of dies w/ different powders etc. all do the same.... I'm guessing it's the brass since it is range brass and who knows how many times it's been fired?. BUT , Federal F C nickel plated brass works better, no bulge and it will gauge most of the time ( rated +P). Looks like the case is stronger as it's +P?.. The only problem is, very hard to find. OAL is 1.12. To confirm my suspicions, Blue Bullets in 125,145 grn. are way better in range brass and most will Shockbottle. I do use a Lee "U" die in all tool heads, most brass is Case Proed. The only good thing, this is a revolver only load so I get back the brass
  11. Looks like SAR USA needs to offer the parts or make a double action model or USPSA won't approve it for Carry Ops? I can't see why there is such a fuss, the average shooter isn't going to gain from "single" action v "double" action???....$650.00 gun superior or equal to a $1500.00 gun?
  12. WELL, being that I'm 81 years old.. "Super, Super Senior" class is all I want to see!!. I could shoot any of the existing classes if I wished...
  13. Well ,here we go.... the stage designers layout their stage's and they have the shooting areas clearly marked (foot faults) that they expect you (the shooter) to engage said targets from within these marked shooting areas.... SO, we run outside the markers to gain a bit of advantage and run back into the actual shooting area and engage the other targets from a shortened distance... Obviously, an advantage BUT not what was intended?, or what? Are we supposed to "out think " the designer to save a step or two and possible lose the match by not doing this ? ("monkey see, monkey do"). .... IF, that's the case, Just let me shoot from where ever I see an advantage and stop putting up those "boundaries.. Yes, I realize we are supposed to "solve" the the stages, but are we?..
  14. Yup, Expected 01/2023 @ Midway guns.. Put in Ruger # 5065 which is the 357 version... I wrote them ...why not 9mm?, you would sell more 9mm than .357's... Never heard back from them.. Jay identified mine as a new 2020 made..... I'd guess they had a few "Just in case" sitting around. Took 6 mos' plus to get it. Mike
  15. Jay, keep up the videos. Work progresses on #00195. ON the other hand?.. What if you could shoot a match every day/night of the week?... Is too much shooting possible?.... (IT can be done indoors or outdoors in the Phoenix,AZ. area). Primers would soon become the issue.

    X5 is back

Carry Optics is good for many shooters who have eye sight issues with iron sights.... Open it a bit AND let hammer fired single action in... Keep "rules" as they are.

I don't see that a double action "start" has either advantages or disadvantages over single action starts?.... Single action would certainly bring more pistols into the CO "game" and maybe some very competitive, lower priced models (under $1000.00 MRSP?).... Heaven forbid, a $600.00 hammer gun capable of winning matches?.. What's next?... A man on the moon??.

    Single action from the start

Humm... Sar K12 & CZ's single actions in CO.... Count me in!
  20. Ruger and Hogue are co match sponsors of this years match 10-14-2022. Anyone know Ruger's involvement?.. I conntacted a Ruger Rep.... He didn't seem to be in the know on this...
  21. It looks like CZ Custom has a combination of parts that might work? but I doubt they will say so.. Henning is supposed to own a K12 maybe he may know?
