I bought a Champion Wheelybird and added a remote control for another 100 bucks. I can get up to 100 yrds from the thrower and still activate it. Offers lots of different practice options. Other than an occasional broken clay, its been really dependable after a couple years and has seen a lot of use. I've been very pleased. ccL

I believe I'm getting addicted as well! Really enjoying the convenience of not setting up targets, taping targets, picking up brass, ect,ect and several clubs within a hours drive. Got a wheelybird for xmas for my own private practice sessions. Good times! ccL

The Manners chassis/DBM system is made by Badger and is highly regarded. I have the CDI and the APA bottom metal and both work fine. Stick with the AICS mags, you won't have any regrets. The only other mag that is even on the same level are the AW mags but will require a cut on the feed ramp of your action by a gunsmith. Some gunsmiths don't recommend the cut for safety reasons. There are custom actions that are machined that way already...Stiller Tac AW, Defiance, ect. The AW mags allow for longer overall length of the rounds when loaded. Also shorter in height vs the 10 rd AI mags. They are true double stack. Hope this helped ccL

Top Shot Season 4: Episode 9 (10 Apr 2012)
CCL replied to Jeanjacket's topic in Books, Movies, TV & Music
I saw that. I also gathered that eye protection was optional when shooting a sniper rifle? its their eyes I guess. Just started shooting tactical rifle matches last season and this was the 1st thing I noticed, very few rifle shooters wear any kind of eye protection. Being a USPSA shooter, I thought it was a given...guess not! ccL -
Go Nightforce over Leupold on re-sale value alone. I would also look at the Vortex Razor for about the same money. Good glass, zero stop, illuminated ret, great reticle options, FFP in either mil or moa and great CS. Just another option that you won't regret if made! ccL

How hard is it to hold under 1 MOA at 500 = yards
CCL replied to AlamoShooter's topic in Precision Rifle
Understatement. Every time I think I'm doing well it slaps me down especially the 1/2" dots. http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2626362 http://www.snipershide.com/2010/10/basic-lesson-23-snipers-hide-dot-drill/ +1 I thought I was a fairly good shot till I started shoooting these! Shooting qroups is one thing, but hitting where you want is a whole different ballgame. ccL -
General rule of thumb is to bend arm and measure from inside of elbow to 1st knuckle of index finger. Most people its around 13 1/2" and thats most gun manufacturers standard it seems. Hope that helped ccL

Nice stick, nice shooting and even nice penmanship! I can't shoot or write that well...kudo's to you. ccL

Finally a detailed reveiw of the DP! Queston: During recoil do you lose the dot on the smaller lens of the DP? Looks like I may have to try one. Thanks Neomet and nice job. ccL
-
Neomet, what's your opinion on the DP vs a C-more now that you've been shooting it awhile now? I've been thinkning about trying one next season. Thanks ccL

I to add one crack in the hinge area after about 10K on 9mm open gun. I believe its the vibration that causes it as my mount is showing some small cracks also. I sent mine back to c-more and as far as I can tell, they sent me a brand new one back...no charge! Put it on my AR and a polymer body back on open gun!! ccL

Jim, I've got a trubor barrel an comp also with about 23k on it and it seems to get slower as it ages. I run 8.3 of Sil with 121 grn MG at 1415 in 70 degree temps. So I'm not surprised. By the way, slide cracked again....fatal this time! Chris

I've got both, plastic with rheostat and alluminum with click. I had to send the plastic c-more back because it wouldn't hold zero any longer. No problems ever with the alluminum, sight or gun related! I know c-more says that they are same except for the body, but I think the alluminum is a little more rugged when it comes to holding zero. It is a coulpe oz's heavier though and you can feel the extra weight when mounted on the gun. I also prefer the click vs rheostat because of being able to bump the rheoostat accidently! ccL

Dillon 650 arm sticking on upstroke
CCL replied to sifu128's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
It probably not the belling of the case mouth if you are using once fired brass as the carbine in the burnt powder acts as a lube when pulling out of the case on the up stroke. Just to make sure, spray some One Shot lube or the like on a Q-tip or fingers and rub on the sides of powder drop tube at the bottom and see if that helps any. Thats what I do on NEW brass to help with the friction of the new case sticking to the powder drop tube. Thats sure what it sounds like to me! ccL -

Listen to this man, he know's his stuff. I know he ain't crazy about major 9's, but he will build you one that flat out runs......at a good price to boot! ccL

I believe she will need a shotgun with slugs, handgun or a rifle in pistol caliber here in Indiana. A shame, but there's no deer hunting allowed with the rifles mentioned! ccL

I recieved my two free 9mm mags last week, just a little over a month wait on mine! ccL

C-More sight, model ARW-4, this is the new all aluminum body,
CCL replied to timamal's topic in Open Pistols
+1 The sight just seems more rugged to me.....has never lost zero for me in at least 5+rds, can't say that about my polymer version that just came back from c-more for that very problem! Down side is that its a couple ounces heavier and had to put a glare shield on it to eliminate the halo effect around the 4 moa dot in the bright sun. I never noticed it in my 6 moa polymer sight! -
Another good shoe with pretty much the same spike pattern in the Mizuno 9 spike blast. Its also a little cheaper. I bought a pair last year and they are very comfortable and have shown little wear on the spikes. ccL
