  1. I have always calculated 10lbs per 1000 on 38spl.
  2. I have a 38spl mid-range. It's a lot of fun to shoot and a great conversation piece at the range.
  3. What kind of grease/oil are you guys using on the bearing? I have parts on the way.
  4. My 750 gets hot also. I keep an eye on it but I doubt if it's anything to worry about.
  5. I am a fan of W231 and Bullseye.
  6. I may have an old style SDB primer catch that is complete. I will check when I get home and let you know. If I do in fact have one you can have it at no charge.
  7. I may be mistaken but I think that $80.00 is for the new DC motor. It is the same motor as on the large tumbler. I have the CV750 and I really like it. Much better motor than the one you burned out.
  8. I use WSR without a problem in my AR's. I have seen Federal small pistol primers slam fire in an AR. (No it wasn't me)
  9. I agree with Mark K, but you can also use a counter sink to debur the offending brass.
  10. I have looked everywhere I know to look with no luck.
  11. The Winchester primers will give you a little more velocity that a Federal or a Remington. As long as your load is not a miximum load developed with another brand primer you are good to go. I did some chrono testing about a year ago using different primers. If I can find it I will post it here.
  12. I should probably be emabrrased to ask this but how do you measure the depth of your primers?
  13. Dillon signed for for my SDB on November 28th. They shipped it back on December 15th. It arrived today. This puppy is brand new in every way I am amazed at the things they don't charge for. It was my intention to sell it when I got it back because I already have 3 other Dillon presses with a new 550 on the way but now I am not sure. Thanks Dillon
  14. My press was delivered this morning for a rebuild. I will post when I get it back for an accurate time line.
  15. Well I shipped the tumbler back to Dillon on the 8th of Sept. (NC to AZ) I received it back on the 23rd. Very fast service!! It is as good as new and running as we speak. Thanks again Dillon.
  16. Well Dillon does it again. I called and talked to a customer service rep and was told that there wasn't anything he could do. I asked for board member "Dillon", explained the problem to him and he didn't hesitate to give me an RMA. I will continue to drink the blue koolaid. Again I am a happy camper.
  17. To make a long story short, I purchased a CV-500. Within the warranty period the motor died and in typical Dillon fashion they gave me an RMA and replaced the motor under warranty. I didn't use it for about 3 months after they returned it to me. (I clean and load in large qtys). When I opened it up and tried to use it for the first time it didn't seem to aggitate the media as aggressively as it once did. I called Dillon and the customer service rep was quite polite and told me that the tumbler was working properly and I just needed to tumble my brass longer to get it clean. I tried to make the point that I was pretty confident that it wasn't working properly. The customer service rep told me there was nothing else he could do. Fast forward to yesterday, I put 250 rounds of 45ACP brass into the tumbler let it run for 12 hours and it was difficult to tell the clean brass from the dirty. So my question is should I just junk this thing and buy another brand or try Dillon customer service again. I don't want to be a jerk about it but I honestly believe this new motor is defective. You can actually hear the motor surge and then get very quiet. I am a blue koolaid drinker 2 sdb's 1 650 and an SL-900 plus all the accessories to go with them. I hate the thought of non Dillon equipment on my bench but I need a tumbler. Any advice will be appreciated.
  18. Can anyone tell me about a Dillon RL-1000. There are 2 for sale and I am really curious about them.
  19. I reload wolf 223 cases. I only shoot them in places where I can't pick up my cases or where most of the cases will be lost.
  20. Well I just called Dillon and they are sending me the old metal bracket and a primer catch cup. Hopefully they will match the parts described in this thread and I can make the modification. I will keep everyone up to date.
  21. 45junkie, The cup that catches the spent primers should be blue plastic. The metal bracket that holds the spent primer cup should be black and it should be screwed to the underside of the platform as shown in figure #3 of my original post. What holds your blue cup in place? Unless Dillon has made some major changes in design that I haven't seen yet it should be the black metal bracket with 2 screws. It is a blue plastic bracket that looks nothing like yours. I believe they have changed the cup also. I will try and post some pics for you. Maybe Gary can chime in here and add some clairity.
  22. NEed some help. Either I am missing something big or the newer 650's have a different bracket and cup. Mine is blue plastic and not shaped like the black metal part. Anyone else run into this and find a fix?
  23. Montana Gold is also shipping their's now.
  24. those wood clubs are the cat's meow too! lynn That's very funny I wish I would have said that, But you're not alone I like my balance beam scale too.
