  1. We only have a small number of dealers carrying the open pistols. They tend to lean more towards the mainstream DS9 Hybrids. They are on our website or if you message me, I can see if we have some shooters or customers in your area that would be happy to show you the product. phil@masterpiecearms.com is my email.
  2. Hi Guys, this is Phil from MPA. Its good to see the DS9 open is getting some attention. This is a product line that we have a high level of dedication and will continue to evolve and improve. Some of the pics shown in this post are older pics. Attached are pics of a demo pistol we took to the USPSA nationals for current reference. This one has about 10K rounds down it. The poorly fitted comp image was an early prototype and the one showing the uneven surface on the Beavertail was of a pistol when those were being built down at the old Freedom facility in Camilla. We have since moved the building of these to our main location in Comer. On the grip, LSI was involved with us early on in the production of our aluminum and stainless grips. That's why you see the similarity. But these are made by us in our manufacturing facility. On this DS9 Open, the immediate focus was on functionality, accuracy and dot tracking. David L (our product line manager) spent a lot of time working on the comp and barrel poppels to get the tracking exactly the way we want, in unison with our barrel performance. As time goes by, we will continue to evolve and refine the product line. The guns perform exceptionally well and we are proud of the products that are shipping from our facility. I know this is a tough crowd to please, but your constructive criticism/advise only helps us get better. If you have any direct questions or concerns, dont hesitate to reach out.
  3. Guys, Phil from MPA here. On the feeding issues identified in this post, we have identified the culprit. Recently we decided to make a change in our mag supplier to MBX. This has corrected the feeding inconsistency. On the mag fit, the MBX mag body dimensions are larger than the ones from our previous supplier. Although we were using MBX mags to confirm fitment, the ones we had in house (before we made the change) would allow proper fitment into our grips. Once we received in a larger group of mags from MBX and measured the front to back dimensions, many were larger than the ones we had for original testing. All of this has been corrected. For any customer that had this issue, we are replacing both the magazines and the grips, at no charge to the customer and are also covering the overnight shipping expense. Moving forward, all grips are fully MBX compatible and all pistols are shipping with 2 MBX mags (126 & 140mm). If anyone needs any help with this, reach out to me directly. phil@masterpiecearms.com or message me through this forum.
  4. Glock17, getting ready to release our Commander (4.25) and 40 Cal DS40 Travis Tomasie Limited models. Open guns are next!.
  5. Bakerjd, I can understand your concern. Warranty coverage from other companies in this product realm seems to be less than adequate. Our warranty is pretty basic. Lifetime warranty to the original user. If the failure is due to workmanship or component failure, we fix it at no cost. If the customer causes the failure, we dont. I will say that customer service for our company always leans toward the customer. If the issue is a "grey area" problem, we will take care of the correction. Our ultimate goal is the make the customer happy. We dont hide behind the small print to avoid warranty claims. The final build on the pistol occurs at our Camilla, GA facility (Previous location of Freedom Gunworks/CK Arms). Our main location produces a majority of the components used in the builds and we transport them to the Camilla location for the build completion.
  6. Hey guys, this is Phil from MPA. Just joined the forum today. A couple of things regarding this post: We are coming out with a 40 cal version. Should be available in the next 4-6 weeks. This will obviously serve the Limited shooters. That was one of the additions we needed for our product line for Travis Tomasie. There will be a TT Comp version also coming shortly. Built exactly the way Travis wanted it configured. We will be offering a pure race gun. This will be coming in the 4th quarter of this year. On the mags, working with MBX right now to start offering their mags with our pistols. Adrian has been great to deal with. Input from shooters is well received by my company. Listening to our customer base only helps us provide a better product, meeting the needs, based on the application.
