If your going to play THAT game go with 155's, 10# spring, and a big smile. Don't count on heavy steel going down. Gave them a try and came to the conclusion that its great for burning a hole in cardboard but heavy steel and spinners your better off with 180's. The 155's are good for steel challenge or maybe a pro-am steel game with light steel. Its like shooting a 9mm.

A 6.5 Grendel is built on the AR-15 platform and it uses special mags The 17 is questionable in a gas gun while some suggest dangerous. Your best bet is a 22lr or the 22mag when it is developed..

Does that mean that its 1moa + 1?

Sponsors include: JP Rifles, Leupold, Timney Triggers, Ramshot/Western Powders, TACCOM, Nordic Components, Grams Engineering, and Barsto Precision. Yes I make chamber safety flags (aka plug'rs) for most semi auto shotguns and rifles. No ammunition sponsor although I hear that the allowance is not that much for those who do get it...LOL And RNT/Accurate Iron for Benelli machine work. -

Last time I looked JP Rifles were making their aluminum carrier. Might want to update the list! http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.7_bc.php -
OK...so I'm slow and need to re-read things several times. I thought the M - comp had two port holes in it and were facing downward. After looking for it I found that it's some aftermarket comp claiming to be a M - style comp but improved. Damn....oh yeah you gotta do what ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ he said. Here what I thought we were talking about turned upside down:

Kurt has access to a really ancient welding machine, horse file, and and an old grinding wheel! Wait a minute....... are you a blacksmith KM? It doesn't but I did see his name at the top of the thread somewhere. Oh my Stl'yheaded friend....you don't know!
-
Yes sir...and plugging a hole is really not that hard. The old term "practice makes....." Anyhow here an example of the drill, tap, and plug:
-
Blasphemy...don't send it back! two wrongs do not make a right. the comp is inexpensive however drilling out a pin can be expensive if you mess up the barrel. my suggestion is to drill/tap the holes on the bottom and insert some plugs. Next drill some holes topside. Not the best cure however if you take your time and do it right it will work.

Hope this helps.

ooops.....went to dinner with friends and after a few adult beverages. well here we are sorry guys...will get that remedied this evening.

The Nova is easier however with that said what it comes down to is company favoritism and the question should be: are you a fan of Remington, Benelli, or one of the other pump manufacturers. I've been a fan of the 870 since my childhood and wished that I would have kept my first one. When this SG came off of a prize table and into my hands a few years ago at the Fallen Brethren match I knew that it was a keeper and was determined to make it work. With a tube extension from NC and the purchase of a longer barrel (18.5" seemed a little short) I feel like I have a pretty good chance of being competitive. If you are interested in having a Nova modified and ready for race there are a few guys out there that are dialed into what mods need to be done. Trapr is one of them. He doesn't have an FFL so don't ask however he has been known to have the patience to put a file to work in the right places that would be considered topnotch.

Will have to measure it tonight and get back to you.

Yes, I went into it a little ways and not all at once. I took small amounts off until it felt comfortable and the shell snapped into place. The project lasted over several nites after work to get to this point. Dis-assembly, remove material, clean, assembly, quad load, and analyze.....repeat.
