  1. It has been great so far. However, it needed a little bit of filing and very minor fitting to get it to comfortably fit in the dovetail without feeling like I was going to shave a bunch off. It has been through about 500 rounds so far and I am driving to my second match with it as we speak. Seems fine so far.
  2. 40 minor is the way. currently running that in LO with the toni systems mount. very happy with it. And enjoying the hell out of 40 minor loads with 165grain blues and 4.2 grains of n320.
  3. Yes the blues profile has always done good. I also used the MBC once as well. My bore didn't mind blues being at .400 vs the MBC at .401 either. I have loaded an extremely small.amount of bullets with lube groove in my time, and these 155 grain Brazos will be among the first. Always annoyed me that by this point with how prevalent coating is, that they still use molds with grooves.
  4. Ever reach a solution? Funny to see those insisting on removing grams followers and springs. Using grams was the only thing that fixed my issues with a new-to-me TSO that had god knows what mag guts. Also, that one round with the setback was pretty wild. Even on any sort of malfunction you would not expect to see such a lack of neck tension allowing that sort of shrinking of OAL.
  5. So I tested some loads with 165 grain blues today, and it wasnt as simple as "keep your powder charge the same and just go with the lighter bullet." I knew that wouldnt be the case based on earlier results, at least at this OAL. Perhaps that would be exaggerated at lets say, 1.18 or something around there. Pretty happy with the n320 at 4.2 grains. For anyone in future searches, here is what I found, of course use load data with caution. I will follow up when my 155 grain brazzos arrive. Will likely put them over the 4.2 grain charges below and see how that feels. Im venturing a guess and saying I will have to respring the gun to get a good return to zero but we shall see. Gun shot great with the dot today.
  6. Wow I would not expect them to be moving that slow. I clocked 165s with 5.1 of n320 at about 1050 fps with OAL 1.130. way more of a velocity falloff than I would expect for the added length of +.050. thanks for the data point good to know.
  7. My only worry about a heavy bullet for the job would be chunky slide movement with a dot. I think I can try some clays from a buddy though
  8. Who do you like for a 155 grain profile? Any without a lube groove out there?
  9. Looking at using my trusty TSO in 40, for limited optics. I think it would be kinda fun to download my major loads, but switch over to blue bullets 165 RNFP from my current staple the 180 RNFP. In the past, Ive just switched from the 180 and changed nothing but the bullet and moved to 165s. This took my 4.5-4.6grains of hp38/sport pistol/n320, and made it slightly sub major. I have access to the 3 of those powders currently and am quite familiar with them. I must admit though, Ive experienced a lot of position sensitivity in 38 spl with HP38, so Im not sure how kindly it would take to downloading in 40. Granted, the loads I speculate below would be about 48-52% of effective case volume in that particular powder. The other two choices are a bit less dense Any of you have familiarity with loading to maybe 140-145 PF with those powders and some light 40 cal bullets? I shot 4.5 grains of sport pistol under a 165 blues a few months ago and that still chrono'd around 155 pf (my OAL has always been 1.135). Any further down than this is a little more exploratory though. But I do hear of some guys way downloading some powders, which can get a little dicey. I was thinking of a ladder of maybe 4.4/4.2/4.0 to test. Would likely have to downgrade the spring but thats fine. thanks.
  10. isnt the TS2 just a shadow frame anyway? Possible you just got a fugged up holster? Ive experienced this with comptac when buying a P07 holster and they refused to say their holster was messed up...
  11. Yes, you can definitely feel it's contacting pretty harshly when there is no buffer. Some say it shortens the stroke, others warn it *could* wear to the point of breaking apart in the gun (which would probably not be catastrophic, just annoying) But I have the DPM setup with the mid length buffer tube so that the slide really hits the breaks on the final 1/8" of stroke. Although it still technically can contact , it's greatly dampened.
  12. This is what I ended up using for the TSO. although the name is certainly not totally specific is it haha https://www.dpmsystems.com/cz-75-sp-01-shadow-shadow-line-tactical-phantom-12-combinations
  13. For what its worth, DPM are super responsive, and however they ship is fast as hell too. I always ended up ordering straight from them in Athens, Greece. And also, I isolated t he perfect length of spring for my 180gr .40 load (I have the TSO dpm setup), and they let me purchase more replacements of just that particular spring coil count/length. nice dudes.
  14. This is the answer. Best option in my opinion. https://czcustom.com/cz-tactical-sports-cz-ts-extended-ambi-safety-lhs.html
  15. Also side note, it seems blues have slightly altered their bullet profile in the latest orders Ive received. not too much to make any meaningful difference though, at least in my reamed chamber
  16. *If you pull the bullet, and dont take coating with it, its probably fine. Likewise, if you arent scraping coating while seating, its probably fine. **If your finished round case gauges, its also probably fine. ***Ideal crimp is somewhere around 2x wall thickness of your brass, plus bullet diameter, which for blues is usually .4005-.401 on the high end. Crimp for me is usually .4215 measured right at the case mouth.
  17. Wasn't the proposal for frame mounted optics? I'm a dedicated limited shooter and have been taking it to it's conclusion in the 2022-2023 season as I have recently made A. My.plan was to make A, shoot a few majors, and then eventually journey to open. But repurposing the TSO with a slide racker, frame mounted optic, and bunny fart 40 cal loads seems like a blast. That, or shooting the Smith R8 with dot could be a hell of a time. It's like USPSA throwback or something. Enjoying this potential shakeup. Could be great to liven up the stagnation.
  18. https://www.armorycraft.com/product-page/copy-of-magazine-release-button-orange https://www.armorycraft.com/product-page/factory-shadow-2-magazine-catch-with-factory-black-button Armory craft actually had both of these. I didnt even see your post in response, just coincidentally noticed it while looking for something else. Was that the part you wanted?
  19. Hmm Im not entirely sure where you get a replacement orange aluminum release button. I know lok sells them in G10, but not sure Ive seen aluminum out in the wild. Just like the OEM orange grip panels... unicorns
  20. Lol not trying to stir the pot. maybe a power factor/honesty thing?
  21. Id be scared to see what my bushing looks like after 30k rounds at this point. Shes a champ and keeps on performing, but Im sure there has to be significant wear on the bushing by now. Wonder if I should replace?
  22. What press are you running? If the brass is able to be scuffed, it's not concentrically seating. This is usually a pointer that the diameter of your bullet and the depth to which you are seating, are not agreeing. THAT, or..... You are starting bullets crooked and the seating stem is not correcting. I had this issue a while back, and a nice forum member here actually machined my round nose profile lee seating stem totally flat. It helped clean things up. I did have a Dillon seating die before but the plug would mark up my bullet due to the lube hole on the stem. On the 550 powder measure, the alpha dropper was a pretty violent thing. I took it immediately off and got told by the nice folks at SSI / shooters connection to pound sand. They never posted my review to their site, nor did shooters connection. Despite other 550 owners pointing out the issue.
  23. Hey folks wanted to close the loop on this one. Some combo of the replacement CGW reduced power firing pin spring (97041), and replacement firing pin stop plate, fixed the issue. I tend to lean towards it was the return spring, but theyre both cheap enough parts and the gun had enough miles on it that I just replaced both. That was a first for me.... thanks to everyone that gave their input and assistance on this one.
