  1. maybe he needs to start holding classes for our military's snake eater types. that'll get him known. +1 on the winning anything national thing, too
  2. Chilie, PM sent i think there is something fishey going on in the works for that WSC, especially since it is in such an anti-gun state as illinois. mmn....move the single stack classic out of illinis and move the steel challenge out of california. we all have to buy stuff when we're at big comps like those, hotel room, meals, gas, why should our tax money go their way to become more anti-gun? sorry...hope this ain't getting too politcal.
  3. hear about this place being built in southern illinois. http://dnr.state.il.us/Worldshooting/home.htm thought the place was an old strip mining operation. the coal company sold it to IL state and they've turned it into a big shooting range. the grand ammerican trappshoooting match is supposed to be there this summer. it got moved outof vandalia, OH cause the airport encroachment. 3,000 shooters busting clay birds. should be a good economic boost to the area. any other states are doing this sort of thing?
  4. more info please?! where? when? etc?
  5. hey Qstick, and others, Happy Easter!!! first let me say that reading anything on the internet, especially in a forum, is like reading graffitti. you have to take everything with a grain of salt. what everybody tells you is just a matter of opinion, so you get what you pay for. just wade through it all and pick out the best course of action for you. no flame wars or baiting or trolling or whatever it is called is intended in my post. a sworn state police man who did computer investigations, spefically child porn told me about norton, lavasoft's ad-aware, spypot search and destroy. i've been running those ever since, for like 3 years now, and i have never had a problem. one of these days when i get around to backing up some important data to CD's and DVD's, i'll go ahead and download windows service pack two and the latest version of IE. so for now i haven't felt the need to get any other anti-syware programs or get a web browser like firefox. YMMV, though. sure you're not going through some anti-gun service like AOL?
  6. from another forum I read they will PF aroun 172 out of a beterra 96 that's major, right?
  7. granted the dude is an a$$....but....do any of you here on this forum actually do any sort of blue collar work? does anybody else feel that their livelihood is threatened by some non-tax paying (read tax evading) individuals who low ball your hourly wage? not to mention your working conditions. eventually your taxk dollars are going to end up supporting those "immigrants" whether it be to the hospital when one of them shoots a nail gun through his hand while building a deck or some sort of welfare check when they have kids here. to me it is just about the same as having one them come into my house and steal food off my family's dinner table. mumps epidemic? anyone?
  8. yeah, my reload looked like pics Derek45 posted. just because everybody else does a reload like that doesn't make it okay. there weren't any previous range rules mentioned before the start of the match. i alwayz make it a point to keep my finger out of the trigger while doing a reload. this SO's score and my score were real close, so i'm thinking he just said it to rattle my nerves hoping that he would hurt my final score. think my shooting buddies are going have to videotape our stages just to keep partial SO's at bay. that kind of egotistical trip you up mentality doesn't belogn in any sport, specially the supposedly impartial referees of the sport. now, i'm trying to remmember why i left the sport 15 years ago.....
  9. glock 17, with a 1.5 # trigger, ha ha ha heee heeee! 1911's are so last century, chills, you need to jump on the glock wagon. John Daniels
  10. sounds like a good way too tick offf the gamers and the trophy hounds. wondering what the IDPA membership would drop down tooo then. John Daniels
  11. greetings from the great state of Texas! shot this practical/tactical pistol match over the weekend. been out of shooting comps for like 15 years or so. everyone was really nice, except for this one range Nazi. after the stage, he said i should watch my muzzle direction when i was reloading at slide lock. i think it was something for him to say to get under my skin, or he is just showing his ignorance about guns being perfectly safe when they're empty and at slide lock. my gun went to slide lock, bring gun in close to me, flip my grip just wee bit so my thumb can hit the mag release, so gun is pointed upward say somewhere between perfectly down range and 45 degrees up wards, grab fresh mag, stuff fresh mag, start to point the gun perfectly down range towards target again, hit the slide lock, gun goes back into battery, track to target, BANG! BANG! doesn't everybody do their reloads like that? where's your muzzle go when you reload? or should i say something to the match director about this clueless zealous range Nazi? John Daniels
