  1. Thanks for the replies. I like the hand press but I am looking for a faster method and one that is a little easier on my hand. My hand tends to get tired after a few hundred rounds of loading with the hand press. I am using a single stage press and I also use a turret press so that is why I am looking for something easier than priming on the press. I do think the hand press is perfectly safe especially since I always use CCI primers which are one of the harder primers. How hard is it to load the tubes for the bench mounted model, is there a way to dump a whole bunch in the tube at once, Thanks again, Jazzman
  2. Hello, I presently prime with a lee hand primer which is fine, but I would like to make this operation easier and safer. I have been looking at the RCBS bench mounted primer tools. They have one that uses the aps strips and they have one that has a tube that the primers feed thru. I use CCI primers so I could buy them already in the strips. Has anyone used either one of these tools, how do you load the primers in the bench mounted tube type. I like the idea that this would be safer to use than my lee hand priming tool. I don't want to load primers thru my press. Thanks for any help on this, Jazzman
  3. Thanks for the replies. I did purchase the auto rim shell holder and auto primer holder for the auto rim at a gun show last week, so I know they are different. I think you might be right about the only other difference being the crimp die. I will check and see if I can buy just the 45ar crimp die or if not then I will just purchase the whole auto rim set. I like their factory crimp die for the 45acp and wished they made a factory crimp die for the auto rim but I guess they don't so I will have to do my crimping with the normal crimp die. Again, thanks for the replies, Jazzman
  4. What is the difference between the 45acp and 45 auto rim Lee dies. I have the 45acp 4 die carbide set of dies and want to know if I can use them with 45 auto rim brass that I am purchasing. I am planning on shooting both acp and auto rim thru my 625 revolver and wonder if I need to purchase the Lee auto rim die set. Thanks for any help on this, Jazzman
  5. Hello, My first post so be kind I just purchased a S&W 625 45acp revolver. My reloading books say that you should use a bullet that has a cannelure and use a roll crimp for revolvers. Is this neccessary, or can I use any 45acp bullet that does not have a cannelure. I am using Lee reloading dies and I have purchased the 45acp carbide set with the factory crimp die. The other question I have is about the factory crimp die, does this die taper crimp since it is for the 45acp or does it put a roll crimp if a cannelure is present. I am confused on which crimp it will do. Thanks for all the help on this, glad I found this forum, Jazzman
