  1. The Benelli 3 gun custom shop are $2400, if you could find them. Benny Hill's M2's are $2395, Wheaton arms m2's are $2200, Salient arms m2's are $2900. These are the only ones that I could find.

    You didnt look hard enough...

  2. Oh Jeez!

FYI, I just voted for triangle. Why? Because Benny is my buddy, and if I get even just one shotgun more than he does, just because of this fanboy thread, I couldnt live with myself. lol!

He's also got more mouths to feed in his shop; so if its a tie between me and Benny; please send it to him. I dont want to see him ever have to buy a Prius.

As much as I appreciate the kind words and support, you guys should know that these answers are opinions; some informed, some not-so-informed. Im proud to say that both Kurt and Benny have taught me a few things. We all for the most part do the same things, each with our own twist on what's optimal.

btw, what the heck is "accurate"? Accurate what?? See, the polls rigged.!!

  3. Does box fed have to mean autoload? If not I'd base the design on the already used 590 and modify the action of the lifter somewhat.

That's probably going to be your most reliable option.

Going with a pump seems a bit counter productive.

Pat, call me up next week when you get a chance, want to touch base on the shotgun.

    thanks,Mike

sgtsv has a sv slide that allows you to keep the same slide, only swap barrels and breechfaces. When you have one frame and two separate top ends, there will be no zero changes.

one thing is for sure; if you decide to do two top ends, order them and have them done at the same time; you will make the gunsmith happier and it will probably save you some dough.

If you wait, and then get a top end done in the future, at least have the same gunsmith do the top end; that is, if youre reasonably happy with his work.

  5. Ill make this short and sweet; Beginners should focus on doing everything safely; even at the expense of the moving and shooting part.

Being safe quickly, during a normal course of fire, is a skill in and of itself. This will help your scores and overall skill progression.

Dont take the DQ's too hard. Not too lightly, but dont feel bad. You were still safe; the RO DQ-ing you stopped you before you became unsafe.

Learn the lesson that you received and move on; chin up.

  6. A broken link like described does not mean that welding is required, especially if it was a #2 link. There is a chance that the VIS is too far behind the slide stop and that could be an issue. However if you used a #2 link there are very few guns that will time correctly with that link. The size of the link is determined by the web thickness between pin hole on the barrel and the flats on the lower lug. If that thickness was thin enough to warrant the use of a #2 link, then I would contend that the lower lugs were over cut.

not entirely true, but theres truth in it.

the size of the link is determined by the position and distance of the slide lugs and the slide stop pin hole. Providing everything else is copacetic.

Your fourth sentence is how you install the link once everythings in the right place, but if the barrel isnt fit right, all that does is put the garnish on a nice s*** sandwich.

edit: clark barrels have an oversized VIS, least they used to.

  7. I talked to Chad yesterday, to tell him that my smm3g scores were missing. I noticed that SMM3G misspelled my last name, so I figured that was the problem. He told me that misspelled names were hell on his tabulation, so I figured Id post up and remind the pros, semis, and amateurs to kind of try and police their names during match registration and while looking at score updates throughout the match. Make things a little easier and more precise.
