Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Neal, How have your results been with the Lee and Lyman slugs out of a smooth bore? I can buy them pre- cast from ebay or start casting my own if they work out. Can you share your load data on them? Thanks! Gary
  2. I'm looking for a good excuse to get into shot shell reloading. I've been reloading rifle and pistol rounds for years but don't really shoot enough shotgun to justify the time and effort. But I was thinking that at our local 3 gun matches our paper slug targets are 25yds or less and really is a waste to shoot with a high priced commercial loads. I would also practice more with my shotgun if I could load up some lower power and cost slugs . So with all that said, does anyone load their own target slugs? Glock9
  3. Check out the BSA Catseye 1.5 X 4 scope with illuminated reticle. I have one on an AR-15 that I use for local 3 gun matches and it has clear optics and I like the lighted reticle http://www.scopesnmore.com/riflescopes4les...e-fm154532i.htm Glock9
  4. AA#2 is my goto powder for 9's & 45s. For 230 FMJ I use 5.2gr #2 GaryA
  5. My problem is I wear progressive lenses (trifocal) so even closing one eye I still have to move my head up and down until I can see the sights in focus. What really helped me was to have my optomitrist make me a pair of shooting glasses with a progressive lens for my weak eye and a fixed lens for my dominant eye focused at arms length. I have always shot with one eye closed but with these glasses I can have both open and the sights are in perfect focus. Give it a try if you too are over 50 and progressive lens impaired.
  6. I think I'll give your suggestion a try. THANKS!
  7. I recently loaded some 200gr lead cast bullets for the first time and noticed that many had excess lube lube around the neck of the case. (I'm talking about the band of lube that is on a cast bullet before loading it) Being the brilliant one, I put them in my tumbler for an hour thinking that it would clean the gunk off. Well I created one big mess, the lube now was all over the cases as well as the bullets and I spent hours cleaning each case by hand. What's the right way to clean off the excess lube? Thanks in advance.
  8. I load 4.7gr of Titegroup under a Precision Bullets 200gr SWC. Chronos at 860fps for a 172 pf out of a 5" barrel. I like the precision moly coated bullets, very little leading, feeds well and are a good value
  9. Have you looked at the Precision Bullets ?Percision Bullets I've been using them through my Kimber Eclipse and the 200 SWC feed flawlessly. They are a coated lead bullet that do not use lube and fire without the smoke and barrel leading.
