    17 Preference

G17 slide with g19L (Lone Wolf) barrel, G17 OEM recoil spring, dust cover filler on a G19 frame (actually a PF 80). Nice setup except for the funky trigger guard (dremel candidate). Like that slightly longer sight radius.
  2. Easy fix with a nail file or emery board! Just round them off!
  3. There are images on the web that show the difference between the stock spring and the NY version. But as stated above send it to Glock and let them put it back to stock.
  4. I cracked the frame on my Gen 2 Glock 21, but then it was only because the barrel failed (NO-NAME AFTERMARKET) and I had a trip to the ER to check the damage to my hand. Note I do shoot reloads! And it could have been a double charge. Glad I had the polymer frame and not a steel 'hand' grenade!
  5. Pink or green florescent sharpie! Check the fabric/hobby shops!
  6. Appreciate the replies. What about durability (protection of the FO rod)?
  7. I am considering a fiber optic in green since this is used as a paper puncher and occasional hunting (vermin) in low light. Anyone have any experience with FO front sights? Preference? Thanks.
  8. I found the use of 'suppressor height' sights a useful aid when using a red dot. Only needed the front sight in 'locating' the dot, especially outdoors in bright sunshine (not at a range). The 'push' to locate the dot was slower and did require some 'scanning' of the 'window'.
  9. Over a decade ago my Kimber .22 conversion (Ceiner) would run 100% with the mini-mags. Other ammo, not so much. The GSG would eat anything. The Ruger(s) Mk I to III were a bit fussy but the worst ammo was some Winchester (red plastic box). Some 'old' Federal (may have been CCI) is good to go in about any of them. Polish the feed ramp etc, check the recoil spring etc. The only one that ran 100% was my revolver(s). But even then you get the odd FTF and it is the ammo not the gun. Just a part of the fun of shooting!
  10. I have the short, small diameter guide rod if you are interested. Also would be interested in the 13# spring if you want to sell it or trade for a full size spring.
  11. My G17, Lone Wolf measures .569 at the muzzle, the G34, Gen 4 measures .568 (OEM). These are side to side measurements. The only .40 S&W I have is a G23 and it measures .588 (OEM). What does the barrel opening (muzzle end) on the slide measure?
  12. The slide will fit both G17 and G22 frames, the barrel Diameter could be the issue, Since it is marked G17, I would suspect it has to be a 9mm.
