  1. After talking to a tech in cusotmer service at Federal last week, the supply of primers that are being produced (large & small) at this time are going to the completed ammo line (none for lose sale). He is a hand loader & can't get any for himself. He also said that the demand for loaded ammo is at all time high as well, no one has any idea why. Production is 24-7 he says & obviously can't keep up. No date in near future for change according to him.sorry not good news. Hopefully "new "win will work out.
  2. I want to change games & use my 686-5 .357.38spl 7 shot for a new game (6rds max) .38spl. I've gotten mixed stories and am hopeing for some knowledgable & correct advice. The question is, Will a 6 ahot NEW style cyilnder ASSEMBLY (ratchet, ejctor, etc) be a direct exchange, Slide 7 off the yoke & new 6 back on? I understand about checking clearences, end shake, timing, ect. Thanks for your time & help with this question.
  3. I have not tried the new win primers, have heard the same about improved sensitivty, but the outside of the new 1k boxes have a white triangle in the upper left corner, for what its worth. We are trying to get a box of triangle to try. Will post results when availavble. Hopefully someone will beat me to it.
  4. Is it a simple swap to change cylinder assemblys between a 625-2 & a 625-8, both in 45acp? Any advise is welcomed. Thanks
  5. Anyone tried using M 28 for SSR class in IDPA ? Are there any other drawbacks other than speed loaders (if can't get the ones from germany)? Any advise is appreciated.
  6. Not to pop any bubbles, just something to think about. To shoot 45autorim , you can have very little if any chamfer to cyl, case dia. .476 outside , dia of autorim is .516 this is a total of .040 over lap (.020 on each side of the chamber). With agressive cyl. chamfer , cartrige will fall into cylinder bore causing excessive headspace I believe is the term. Possibly a spare cyl that's stock or VERY SLIGHT edge relief of chamber? just a thought. Responses very welcome. I really like the idea of using my 625 for both classes (ESR & SSR).
  7. Would you mind sharing what powder mfg/type & amount? I'm new to 9mm open & could use all the help I can get. Thanks Dave
  8. How much $ for m 28's each & about how long to get them? Dave
  9. +4 or howmany? 200swc precisionbullets.com over 4.4 g of tightgroup makes 840-850fps out of 5'' 1911. Have sent many into backstops. Dave is good guy to do business with. Check bulk shipping .
  10. Try 200gr swc from precisionbullets.com over 4.4g of tightgroup. Makes about 840-850fps out of 5'' 1911. Clean burning too.
