I'm pretty new to shooting competitively. My son(17)was interested so it's something we're doing together.
I have shot two USPSA, a steel match and a GSSF match, all locally.
I've tried a few guns out that we own, and I'm still sorting out what works for me.
the two USPSA matches on a 320X5 Legion CO, the steel on that and a Walther PPQ 22, the GSSF match on a G44 and a borrowed G34
I plan to switch to Limited and shoot a Walther Q5 Match SF Pro this weekend for the USPSA.
My biggest struggle so far (other than remortgaging house to buy ammo) has been practice. Sure, I can shoot at paper or steel, but all very linear, up against a berm at the range. It's the same range that they hold competitions, but the competition area is not really open normally.
Any thoughts on the best way to make range time more productive would be appreciated.
