Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. No they specifically said they have no ETA. No indication my order is being prioritized based on it being from last summer.
  2. Been waiting since August. I'm told I am in the "50% defect rate group" from last month. Hard to follow how they have all these coatings issues with multiple vendors and that issue seems unique in the industry. If PT didn't already have a solid business making components for other builders I'd be deeply concerned to find myself in line to be an unsecured creditor.
  3. Thanks @Boomstick303 that's really helpful. I'm leaning in the Athena direction but will also get Atlas's thoughts too.
  4. I'm debating between an Athena and Erebus. This would be for 3Gun, Steel matches, and range time blasting. Most of my interest is in getting carry style optics on a 2011 but the compensator is what I'm stuck on. I haven't seen people asking/commenting on the noise factor of Erebus vs Athena. My open guns are **LOUD** and I really can't shoot them indoors. Less gas in 9mm minor but still I'd have to think Erebus is going to but considerably louder than Athena. Any experience with Erebus, Staccato XC, DVC Steel, or similar 9mm minor comp'd guns vs a standard barrel with 9mm minor would be appreciated. (I should add that the seemingly small difference in muzzle flip isn't going to be a game changer for me...however, I also really REALLY like how my open guns seemingly don't even move when the load is "juuuuuust right"...)
  5. Anyone received a Honcho ordered since mid August? I ordered mine then, paid the full amount in Sept when it was [going to finishing]. At that time, it was expected to be 10-15 days before shipping. Haven't heard much from PT on where things are. Just trying of figure out where I am in the queue. Thanks!
  6. @rishii I think you have me on the right track. I looked at a few of their guns and, yes, the slides are very very similar. Saw another post mentioning that Smoking Hole was using SVI frames and the time (1990s) lines up with this gun as well. Thank you!
  7. I bought an interesting older open gun recently. It was sold as a SV (which I suppose, technically, it is) however SV says it was sold as a gunsmith kit in 1997. The optics are from 1998. Wondered if anyone had seen something like this before? The trigger, specifically, seems to be unique and maybe identifies who built it? Overall it seems to be in really nice condition and I'd like to figure out what it actually is / who made it etc.
