Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Red Leg Patriot has a tear down and clean and another lube and reassembly.
  2. I have a Pro Mag drum that works most of the time in the VR, but have to remove the extended mag well for it to lock in. I will just reserve the drums for other fun guns at the range
  3. Speaking of mags, there is a "new" 20rd drum mag in the US market, made by Defensesports, imported by SDS. Got mine from center fire systems and is supposed to work in all MKA 1919 style mag guns. It worked flawlessly in a couple of other Turk AR12 style guns I own out of the box. I had already put 125 rounds through before I tried it with the VR80. It hung up just trying to get it inserted and had to give it the "AR palm" mag smack several times. That was a mistake, it had also bound up going in a FEAR 116 and also cycled poorly. I could only shoot what was chambered, in the VR80 it would stovepipe, double feed, fail to eject and fail to go into battery, whatever feeding problem you can Imagine it did! I had to give it several wacks with rubber mallet to get it out of the gun. I put the extended mag well back on and that is the last time a drum touches the 80.
  4. From what I was told it was a loose choke that had slugs shot through it!
  5. Boomstick303 I had asked some questions from the Derya factory in Turkey they advised that the heavy piston was for 40gr+&3'', and IC was the tightest choke to use on slugs. They consider light loads has a 24, 28, 32, 34 grammage.
  6. BTW if anybody is looking for one Battle Hawk Armory has two in stock.
  7. I have been unable to cycle any rounds through this gun Othos xr12 pro with the 2 magazines that came with it, or with another UTAS 5rd I purchased online. I will load one round in the chamber shut the bolt, attach a mag with 2 rounds & fire the round. As of yesterday it fails to load another round that will fire when I pull the trigger! I have tried over 20 different loads both high and low brass, light and heavy loads, 2 3/4 & 3" shells not will cycle. (added picture of some of the many shells I have tried) Most of the time does not chamber the second round and if it does the bolt does not close all the way for it to fire. One time yesterday as I let the bolt go forward, it fired the 3"round with the gun on safe, the positive being I was at an outdoor range and muzzle was pointed at the ground. I have several AR12 Turk shotguns with this costing the most and preforming the worst.
  8. Nope the front of the added well keeps the mag from going in deep enough for the catch to hold it in place, so it an either or. I don't want to hack up the drum or mag well so use use of the drum is left to another Turk gun, my Hatsan you can see the space at the front of the well.
  9. I have shot both of their slugs, I like the Green box Palla @ 1310 and back when i got them were 50cent ea. Turkish slugs for a Turkish gun.
  10. I, like the others had no problem with the drums (out of the box) working in the VR80, but did have to tune (notch) the front of the mag to work in a Typhoon F12
  11. Mine was listed higher by the dealer in Ohio and at first did not want to go any lower than the price of 1625 with taxes & shipping. I truthfully told them i could not pay above 1510, He agreed to 1508 & stated he would only make $8, but wanted it gone. The math between the 2 quotes would put his cost at $1300. Earlier this year after Tirgis told me they were working a deal with "Black Aces" to be the US importer, they BA stated they were having second thoughts doing it as their cost to door would be around $1300 ea. I guess that to be the factor in why there is still not a US importer for them. Delivered to a owner in the UK is at $1,572.27 US
  12. The shotgun shown at the top of the thread is being imported to the US under the Utas XTR 12 and if you want one shop wisely as on line costs vary as much as five clams and several color choices! In my above post I I also meant to state "They are on the high end of the AR12 style price range", not AD12. Tirgis XR12PRO ORTHOS xr12pro
  13. A Turkish Tigris XR12 pro Rep told me there were 250 of them sent over here under the Orthos XR12 brand over a year ago. I took that info and just got mine in from a gun shop in upper Ohio. I hope to get it to a range this week. I noticed that other "standard" Turk AR 12 style mags to not fit this gun and have a message in to see if the Utus XTR mags will work. They are having problems getting a US importer, at one time Black Aces was thinking about doing it, doesn't seem to have gone through with it because of costs. Check gun broker and you see what I mean. My orthos xr12 pro
  14. There is still no US imported for the Tigris Arms XR12 PRO, but found out from their Rep in Turkey that 250 were imported under the Orthus brand as xr12 pro , I found one yesterday in an Ohio gun store and it is en route. I will add to this thread after I get, clean. lube and get it to the range. The are on the high end of the AD12 price range, but already have things added that would have set me back some more cash anyways. I also own the VR80, F12 and a couple others to compare it to.
