Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. At this moment I will say I'm not so much concerned with fast results or even necessarily accuracy (then again, when is this not the goal?) as I am mostly just after that satisfaction of your first successful handload going bang, and just being able to shoot more in general
  2. Yes I'm seeing 3.2 more and more, but in this particular thread I was going off a previous comment that said to get a chrono and start around 3.0, 3.1, & 3.2. Like I say, the more I'm reading up on my exact specifications the more I'm seeing not to go below 3.2 or above 3.6. I'm even being told to maybe try a different powder to start with as titegroup isn't necessarily for the beginner to use on his first reloads... of course I'm seeing similar about 147gr projectiles and I'm determined to use what I have. Prolly will pick up another powder and try 10 or so, then the same with TG, and test for cycle issues until I can get my chronograph.
  3. I'm finding I do need to go ahead and purchase a chronograph, but I just started seeing things about different barrel lengths affecting how much TG you want to play with. I'll start around 3.1 and work up to 3.6 to test function until I can grab a chron. These are fmj so I'll need to look more into seating depth. Just trying to be extremely vigilant in safety before I go doing this
  4. Just got some 147gr copper plated bullets and some titegroup. No data for it in my lee 2nd edition handbook, wondering where to start for such a short barrel. Will be my first reloads... HALP!
