  1. The biggest thing I liked about this die was the De-capping part of it. I was running dillon dies in my 1050 and a mixed lot of 9mm brass. A couple of brands of brass would constantly have pull backs on the primer.  The de-capping system on these dies are working a lot better. I loaded @500 rds the other night and never had a pull back.
lubing is an extra step, but it definitely makes the press run smoother. The bottle shape that I had before isn’t there anymore, but that was mainly a cosmetic issue.

I use a circular tupperware bowl and I shake vigourously after spraying.

Are you spraying the brass directly?  I am using a Tupperware bowl, it’s just a pain to get them all laying sideways, unless I just do a minimum amount. Not sure if any gets inside the case, if it will contaminate the primer.

  3. For those that lube their brass with peg 75 lanolin mixed with iso alcohol, do you make sure every piece is laying side ways?  I usually tumble rifle brass after lining and sizing, but with pistol, I plan on just sizing and loading in 1 step. How critical is it to keep it out of the case mouth?  Will it contaminate the primer if any gets inside?

It was user error on my part. I didn’t have the die down far enough. Once I screwed down against the shell plate, it all fell into place. I have .005 neck tension now.

As a side note, when Wayne saw this post, he called me up on a Sat. To help me get it remedied. Can’t ask for better response than that.

They all fit. Assuming you are removing your magwell for prod/CO.

So the mag well is the only reason why the regular mags won’t fit?  That’s good to know, thanks.

  6. Just got a X5 legion to start shooting production class. Possibly carry optics. I am assuming that the 21rd mags will not work in production due to the length requirement. I need to get some more 17rd., but I read somewhere that the standard 320 17rd. Mags won’t work with the legion frame. Everywhere I looked for legion mags, is out of stock. Can the baseplate be modified on a standard mag to fit the legion?  Or am I going to have to buy a standard 17rd. and then buy an aftermarket base pad?

just started using titegroup with rmr 124 gr fmj bullets.  the  3.8grain load worked well but did not eject properly in a 1911 recently( could be that  guns recoil spring)> I am thinking that  3.9 gr-4.0 gr is the way to go.

hodgdon  lists  3.6  - a max of 4.1 gr for a 124 gr  bullet like the rmr

Is that for their plated or jacketed?

  8. 4.2gr of titegroup yielded 1100fps with the 124gr jacketed flat point.
I started working a load up for the 125gr jhp from Rmr. Oal length had to go down to 1.050 to pass the plunk test in my Gen 5, Glock 19. Only problem was, by the time I got it seated deep enough, it was causing a bulge at the base of the bullet. It will still pass the plunk test.

  9. Just got a Glock 19 and was fixing to start loading some 124 fp from RMR. Have some titegroup on hand so I figured I would start with that. I was planning on starting at 4.2gr.  As I was checking the overall length I realized that the oal was going to be shorter than what’s on hodgdon’s website. Looks like I will have to go to 1.10 to get them to plunk good. Will this be short enough that I will need to reduce my starting charge?

  10. Are they as rugged as the Harris? I have a Harris and versapod bipod I like the way the versa pod feels when shooting, but I got a rifle now with a piccatinny rail so I need to get a new bipod for it or another adapter. The atlas looks very nice, andounts to a piccatinny rail.

  11. Do they still make these? I bought one several years ago, and used it a couple of times then packed it away. Found it the other day and figured I would sell it, but I don't rembet what I paid for it. Tried googling, but couldn't find a price on one. Sold the STI that I had it for so there is no need for it now.
