  1. ill give you 9 major. that's a different story. I've never had 9 mm break rear sights, or break other things like 40 does. that, or my Tangfolgio has total craptastic stock HW, which is also a factor and why I went back to CZ. tango stuff started falling off the gun in 2-3K rounds. CZ, rock solid indefinitely. perhaps I got a lemon....

in my experience the trigger will be harder to tune compared to shadow because you fight more parts with the firing pin block. it takes force and travel to make that work and shadows simple don't have that in the way. a huge issue for me personally with non shadows, is roll pins. the firing pin block, firing pin etc is held in by a roll pin which to me is the devil and a major cause for failure, puts a massive headache in home modding. shadows taking the firing pin out is a 10 second job. in non shadows its about 30-60 minutes depending how many roll pins you smash to bits while cussing and crawling on the floor trying to find the ones you drop. I hate hate hate roll pins!

ah that's a huge negative for me. im so bought into the CZ platform I have spare parts etc. im sorry CZC didn't just make the same dimensions as stock CZ for parts swapping
  4. what recoil spring are you using? did you mess with the extractor / extractor spring at all? CZ like SHORT or Sammy spec / factory rounds. lengthening them will only make issues worse. CZ cannot shoot lengths 2011s can, they are notorious for SHORT rounds only.

im my opinion, the "accu" part is kinda a waste of money unless you want it "just because". these guns are very mechanically accurate, far more than your human ability to shoot...not you personally I mean just all people. At least for practical action pistol. first thing id do is run the gun stock in a few matches and see what you like. easiest / fastest mod is Cajun extended firing pin and 11 and 13 pound hammer springs. that's going to significantly reduce your stock DA pull. Run that for a bit and decide what you think needs fixing. basically, the answer is 1 of 2 things, CZC parts or cajun gun works parts. whole kits are 350-400 for the full install, or you can just get bits a pieces which each do different things. in my opinion, non shadows are inherently worse than shadows, especially shadow 2s which are the best out of the box. this is because shadows do not have firing pin blocks, and shadow 2s actually have pretty good stock hammers, etc and can get a pretty amazing trigger pull with jut a spring change. non shadow SP01s, not as easy. I think the full cajun kit is going to work wonders for these guns, versus a lot of shadow 2 owners feel less value in the full cajun kit. your money is probably better spend in cajun parts than a new slide / accu bushing.
  6. regardless of 40 availability and economics, if you look at the trend in the gun games CO is taking over. I went limited major cause I didn't want to believe it and stay irons a bit longer...but I knew at the end of the day the end game was a red dot on my slide. I didn't wanna go there, but now im there and I must say dot life is good. come to the dark side! honestly, I think most people would agree in normal non covid times 9mm is cheaper, and generally easier in most cases. for some reason 40 was always more finicky on loading/ feeding, harder on parts / guns (I kept breaking rear sights after high round counts), etc. every time something happened I kinda though " man... this never happened with 9mm....".
  7. I ran a 226 legion in production just fine. great gun, and I bought the legion for the trigger, and grips, etc but the trigger was a huge piece. its simple stunning for a service pistol. Its basically as good as any tuned competition pistol, but out of the box, and "service pistol" reliability. 226 legion is definitely not going to hold you back as a production gun. but for various other reasons, aftermarket support, etc most competition shooters are going to take a tanfo or CZ ,etc.

    Moving to CZ?

I started competing with a 226 legion and went to a shadow 2. id gladly compete in production division with it again (I cut my shadows for optics). and went optics with my CZ cause I started with them In production, so largely it was the investment in training, mags, spare parts, etc it was cheaper to keep the platform. in short, CZs (shadows) are good out of the box and better for gamer nerds who want to tweak. the ergonomics are in my opinion, the best in the gun world for a mass produced pistol, they are incredibly quality, relatively easy to fix / repair / tweak at home - its literally everything you want for a sexy gun that can take the punishment, that you can maintain under heavy punishment. If not - buy a Glock, and it will just run. minus the "being sexy" part. Id a sig 226 legion is a Ford Mustang a CZ shadow 2 is a new 2020 C8 corvette for the gun games. shadow 2 just outclasses the 226 for action pistol. not to say the 226 hands well, is probably as or more accurate, is more reliable, and can race. its just clunkier, good but not as good Argos, and less aftermarket for competition centric products (grips, mag releases, base pads, etc etc etc). Tho my Legion is an incredible trigger, a lot of 226 triggers are kinda meh in a competition setting and there's not a lot of home brew parts to fix that. that's why I bought the legion. To your point- Sig X5 legion is an incredible value. to go CO easy, dollar for value, you really can't beat an X5 and its popularity shows. CZs are just so popular because there's a strong fanboy crowd like me.
  9. IWB, probably apendix carry, maybe hip 3 o clock. need small, low print. very thin/small frame need a pretty streamlined solution. Thanks! so far my list is Vedder, Tulster, crossbreed, Stealth Gear, and local to me is Renaissance Arms
  10. you can't go wrong shipping it to the big names, Primary, Cajun, Fire4Effect for milling. But honestly, with weight not being an issue, if you can nab a OR ready version WITH the plates, throw a 11 or 13 pound recoil spring in it, you are pretty much good to go for not much money at all. another great option, source a used shadow 2 (1K ish) and get a Primary machine ready ship slide. Keep stock slide. this may be the cheapest option and get you a production and OR ready gun! The game has changed a ton without the weight cap, and with more shops offering services and requiring less extensive work to remove weight. the work is less labor, a lot of shops offer cheaper jobs if you don't need weight relief. Its almost like the extensive mill jobs (plus new Kote) is for the bling. Like getting an infinity when you could have bought an atlas... you wanted to uppitiest the game that much more. And I say this cause I have 2 ridiculously overdone S2s cut from Fire4Effect...just cause. shoot great love em. my specs are totally unessesary lol!

does the A01 take regular CZ75 (shadow 2) safeties? always wondered that, I prefer the flat safety on all my CZs
  12. I've been eyeing this pistol since I heard about it. I got into limited major end of 2018/2019 and would have bought this in a heartbeat over my craptastic tanfo and then later a CZ TSO, which I love, but this looks better. Unfortunately for Dan Wesson, timing couldn't possibly be worse. USPSA is getting super overweighted in Carry Optics division. Limited is a dying breed - 40 is just so... meh. 9mm and dot life is easier and more fun to the average person, especially when somebody can slap an SRO on a Glock MOS and race. DWX would have ruled the scene if it was around 5 years ago.... to bad. im sure they will still sell OKAY however, its a novel concept.

    TS/TSO vs. 2011

Yes. I dunno, maybe I need to load em to 21 and let em sit for a while, or do that a lot in practice to break em it. for whatever reason, seems like the resistance is to great and I never went there. I know a few shooters of both CZ and Tango who are in the same boat, afraid to load 21. I had a tango limited with Henning pads and grams kit - video of Henning showing 21 in the mag. never could do it...
  14. because I mostly bulk buy reman, pretty limited to 165s or my preference of 180. however, I had a guy load me some 200s.... man. those are nice. its like why production shooters like 147s, but to the extreme. if you like that softer, slower push feel - I think they "feel" significantly softer which is probably my personal perception. That, and a large part of it was a softer loading which was right at 168-170 PF out of my TSO (roughly 5.5 inch barrel), that's a bit part of it. that load probably wouldn't make legal PF in a much smaller gun.
  15. like others have said, its largely personal preference. stock 3 is most in size like a shadow 2. stock 2 is slightly shorter, and there are some slight grip/ ergo differences. weight. I agree, Xtreme is a bit marketey. Yes its better out of the box, but most people who buy tanfos tune up em up or have a 3rd party like Patriot or Henning tune up em with aftermarket parts - ultimately being BETTER than a stock Xtreme model. IMO- id do with a stock 2 and pump it full of Henning or patriot parts. titan hammer, bolo, springs, fancy grips, silly personal things like single sided safety whatever you want. I also really admire the stock 2 for the come bull barrel, I think that's really cool, and locks up tight as hell. and partly cause im a CZ guy and one of my biggest gripes is the front sight pin and bushing. none of that is required with Stock2's design, and I like the simplicity and engineering. and cause Chrome. seriously, I think chrome is why 80% off people shoot tanfos LOL
