Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. My prayers have been there the whole time, I too have been there and spent month and a half in coma and 2 years self induced rehab, I still ride and always will, people that ride and shoot are tough and the best people in the world
  2. This is a great young man and I have also had the privelage of shooting with him. He is eager to learn and is going to be a force to be reckoned with. To cool, Dad
  3. You guys are a hoot, I guess I am going to have to get that damn thing out of the safe agian and hit the road on the bike, come on down Tom
  4. I will drag Walter with me and this will give me a chance to see some family too. I am in
  5. Car, I am living in Okla now but am from the OOPS area (Winterset) originally. I am planning on shooting the Iowa match also, talked to Chad last week about how many revolver shooters were entered and was told 2 or 3. Just got a C card with the revo and would like to shoot revo divivsion but would like to see a few more shooters in the match before I commit, otherwise will shoot another gun, keep me posted if you hear about other shooters coming on board. This will be a good match, good people, slightly twisted!! I have enjoyed shooting with them over the years, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry for the drift,, 625 or 610 major of course

  7. I will be there shooting Open this year, not sure what class, probablly B class. Whats happenin Limited 40, just wanted to know if the squad momma and all around better half of yours will accompany you this year? Damn, I switched to open just so I wouldnt have to deal with you this year! Haha,, see ya there. By the way , will be staying at the same place this year
  8. I've been shooting IPSC since January and am a C class in L10 Limited and soon in Open I will be classified a C. I have not shot in Production since the first time I shot a match (totally addicted to the sport at that point). This weekend I shot a special classifier with the production gun ( Berretta 96 FS ) and the open gun (STI 38 Super). What a treat, shooting the open gun really made me slow down for the production, knowing I had to have good hits because of the minor factor, at least in the back of my mind it did. I shot my first 100% classifier with the Berretta, I am curious to know how it will turn out on a national level. Doesn't make any difference to me where it is ranked nationally, I was just proud of the fact that I actually focused on shooting on the edge of accuracy vs speed. Also shot a 73% and couple in the high 50% range with a few minor gun problems. Do they have a 12 step program for this sport?
  9. Eric, I use the 22 blank type and it is a small handheld, plunger type. The reason is this, I live in a large metro area and when I work the dog in the off season, we go to one of the city lakes. The law around here is pretty leary of a shotgun weilding dude smack dab in the middle of town!!!!! In reallity, she doesn't need a lot of work anyway because she is with me 24-7 and of course she is a Chesapeake. Been thinkin of giving her a key to the safe so she can fetch the shotgun for me,,, haha
  10. I thought I was the only one that shot this stuff!! I love it, is fairly clean, readilly available and is effiecient in all my handgun loads.. I load the .45 at 5.5 gr of powder and a 230 gr precision bullet, power factor is 169 here are some more loads I shoot: .45 cal 200 gr swc 6.0 gr univ cci primer .45 cal 5.5 gr univ 230 rainier rn bullet cci primer .40 cal 155 jacketed flat nose bullet 6.0 gr univ powder small cci magnum pistol primers .40 cal 155 lead round nose 5.5 gr univ small magnum pistol primers oal's are according to Hogdon book The .40 loads are a little less than Hogdon recommends and still seem to be a little hot for my liking The .45 loads are all good IPSC loads and are all real accurate in my STI Edge This powder does real good in the .44 mag, the .38, .357 also I am sold on it!!
  11. Area 4 was my first major match and man was it ever a humbling experience!!! I got off to a bad start on the stars stage at 8am the first morning and naturally I was the first to shoot it, slow , but I managed to get it done... My hat goes off to the guys and gals that help put this match on, specifically the CRO's and RO's on every stage. great people.. It was nice to finally put some faces to some of the names on this forum. I'll be back!!!!
  12. Man , this is the greatest bunch of people in the world, I laughed my ass of reading this post.....
  13. No, I hate cleaning guns, but I hate malfunctions even worse. I have never used slide guide or anything else for that matter other than good old fashioned lightweight oil. My guns run like a sewing machine when they are clean. I guess on average I will put 500 *600 rounds through one before I take it down and clean it. Would you go to a match with a dirty gun, I think not! I feel like I play like I practice, so I just do it. MIght have to try this slide guide stuff some day!!!!
  14. I recently purchase 3000 .45 cal 230rn bullets from Precission Bullets and love them. I randomly wieghed and miked about 500 of them when I got them in my hands before loading, NOT ONE WAS OUT OF TOLORANCE. Needless to say I was Impressed. This is the most quality oriented company I have ever purchase bullets from, not to say there are not others, and not counting makers of jacketed bullet although some of those are lacking also. The smoke factr is practically nil and they are very accurate (no wax, I'm sure that makes a big differance) The big advantage is they are actually cheaper than any lead cast bullets I can find in my area ( Okla.) So far this is the only size and wieght I have used from them but that will soon change..
