  1. Competition gun is Bul Armory SAS II UR open gun. Carry gun is Sig P250 sub
  2. I developed Plantar Fasciitis about 10 years ago from standing too long on hard surgery room floors with poor shoes. My doc recommended DANSKO shoes and they are a miracle. I haven't had a flair up since.
  3. I just started shooting Open this season with the Bul. It feels perfect in my hand. It shoots soft and flat. When it runs it makes me feel like a better a better shooter (at least more confident). When it runs. I’ve had chronic recurring problems with reliability. I’m currently sleuthing an extraction problem with no end in site.
  4. I don't want to hijack the thread. I'll make original post with details later tonight. Thanks for offering to help.
  5. I'm starting to regret Open Division in general. I'm a relatively new participant in USPSA this being my 3rd season. I started shooting Limited minor with an old Sig P226 and quickly fell in love with the sport. I graduated to an STI DVC Limited within the first 4 months. The more I traveled to matches the more people I saw shooting Open guns and it looked like awesome fun. I had to have one. 2021 is my first season shooting Open. Now I spend an inordinate amount of time tinkering with equipment trying to get it to run consistently. I'm certainly no gunsmith and my rural, isolated location limits my access to experienced people who might be able to help diagnose and correct my malfunction issues. YouTube is my only resource LOL. I'm not ready to give up but, frustration is building.
  6. You have my deepest and most sincere sympathy. Buddy looked like a mighty little guy. Thank you for giving him a loving and caring home. He won the doggy lottery the day you saved him from the ditch.
  7. Thanks for the smile this morning. I wish my dad took me shooting when I was a sprout.
  8. I'm very sorry for your loss of your friend Tank. I'm a veterinarian in Northern Michigan and I understand how strong and deep the bond between dogs and their humans can be. From your description it sounds like Tank had a long and fulfilled life with a family who loved and cared for him. That's all a dog ever wants or needs. I believe dogs are our better angels here on Earth. Everyday I wake up and try to be the man my dog thinks I am. It's never easy to let them go. But, I believe it is the last kind thing we can do at the end of their journey. Please know you have my deepest sympathy.
  9. You can look up IPSC Shoot Off on you tube. They do it in Europe at the European Handgun Championships.
  10. Indeed, we did have a match on Saturday 5/1 in HL. We have a USPSA match in Mancelona on 5/15. Hope to see you there.
  11. Come up north and shoot USPSA with us at Houghton Lake Sportsmen's Club in Houghton lake and Chain O'lakes Sportsmen's Club in Mancelona. Welcome.
  12. I was going to use this example but you beat me to it. As a younger man I had almost un-limited time but no money to do the things I wanted. Now, as a seasoned adult I have less financial limitations but zero time to enjoy the things I want. My whole life I played Mexican made Stratocasters because I couldn't afford the Les Paul I wanted. Well, I went ahead and bought a Gibson Les Paul 1957 Gold Top Custom Shop Historic Reissue and have never regretted it. I don't make my living playing anymore so it's hard to justify the expense. But, the feel in your hands and performance is unmatched. You only live once. Buy quality guns, cars, and guitars.
  13. I learned to have all my information ready if I see "add to cart." I keep the website open on my work computer and hit "refresh" dozens of times. I lost a case of 124 JHP in the time it took me to click and reach for my wallet to extract my credit card. It worked for me.
  14. Does the time start at the beginning of the beep or the end of the beep?
  15. I’ve scored 2 cases of MG 124JHP in the past 3 months. It took a lot of “refreshing” their webpage and my shopping cart page. It’s like video poker. Hundreds of “out of stock” clickers to hit that jackpot “add to cart.” Have your credit card ready. I’m not kidding. I “lost” one case because I had to reach for my wallet and pull out my card. Someone beat me to it.
  16. Livingston Gun Club - Excellent club to shoot USPSA. I travel from Northern Michigan at least 3 times a year to shoot their USPSA matches and Ryan Rocks. One of my favorite places to travel and shoot. They always put on a good match.
  17. This is fantastic advice. I did it 4 years ago...thought it would be difficult. It was easy and made life much more enjoyable. No regrets.
  18. 1.165 with MG 124 grain JHP’s over 7.8 grains HS-6.
  19. Thanks. That explanation makes sense to me.
  20. I've never had this episode resolved to my satisfaction. What do you think? It was a level one match out of town my first time shooting this club. I was shooting Limited major and doing quite well (for me) after 4 stages. The 5th stage presented as "gun unloaded on table" start. There were 2 paper targets side by side above the table and two paper targets below the table. At the start buzzer I quickly moved forward from the start position to retrieve my gun from table. Loaded and hosed at the two above table paper targets "double alpha, double alpha." As I was dropping to my knees/squat to engage the targets below the table my finger was on the trigger and "bam" I discharged a round I was clearly not in control of. My pause waiting for the Stop command seemed like forever but it never came. I finished the stage and then had a conversation with the RO. I believed I should have been DQ'd. His reasoning for not DQ'ing me was because the errant shot was actually on paper above the table as a Delta. I was glad to not be DQ'd and sent home but I can't help but thinking he gave me a break.
  21. I was in the doctors office waiting room recently and I sat across from a young mother and her toddler. The kid was getting fussy so mom handed him a magazine to divert his attention. I watched the little dude hold the magazine like an iPad as he tried over and over to “swipe” the picture on the cover.
  22. Is there any benefit to a closed emitter red dot vs the "standard" open emitter on Open guns?
