  1. Guys

Thanks for all the good info. I may have to get another cr speed holster. The one I tried was one that had been modified by "THE GREAT" Bobby Carver! I tired adjusting on it and on the tension ,but I could not get it to my liking. My draw straight up out of the holster ,would try and bring the holster up ,no matter how I adjusted the tension, maybe I was doing something wrong> I will have to get one and give it another try!

    Thanks

    Jeff

  2. I have tried the CR speed holster and have found it to be to jerky on the draw.

I looked on Safarilands web site and saw the 010 ! its a tactical holster

My bad guys,I didnt read everything about the 010.

    It isnt made for glocks.

    Thanks for the imput anyways

  3. Guys,

    Need some help!

I am looking at Safarilands Model 010 tactical holster for glocks.I am wanting a holster ,with good retention,to be able to use my G34 with c-more scope ,and carver mount.

Has anyone had any experience with this holster and if so ,Does it have good retention on the glock?

Any replies wil be very appreiciated.

    Thanks

    Jeff

  4. Tito, not to put down Brownells, but you can pick up all the polishing compound you need at your local lowes home store!

And all you need is a dremel with the felt bobs, or a dremel equivalant tool.

I use the white and the green compound sold by lowes and my dremel with a felt bob works very nicely.

  5. I would think ,the 34 would be better suited for an open gun.And you still have the caliber in 9mm.

    Just my 2 cents worth

Plus you have more slide to work with!

  6. I havent had any issue with my Zeros at 147, but am switching (mostly for price) to Precision Delta jacketed 147's. Has anyone done this (switched from Zero 147 jacketed to Precision Delta jacketed 147's and had any issues, i.e. zero changed or load changed?

GUy here is a load to try in your G34

    3.8 grs Vihtavouri N330

    Rem 147gr Match bullet

    OAL 1.160

I have had much succuess with this load in my G34 and my G17.

On an NRA D-1 target I can keep them all in the X-ring at 25yrds.

I have also used the rainier plated 147's with this same load, and with the same success!

Dont worry about the spring length, of your ismi veruses a new spring! I shoot ISMI springs in my G34 and have seen the same thing, (getting shorter versuses a new one)I have not had ant problem at all with this situation!

Oh BTW, the ISMI 13lb spring, checks out at close to 12lbs, the 15lb @ 14and a half, the 17@about 16!

Thie was checked out on the new spring weight check system sold by brownells and was featured in american handgunner mag (new produts section)!

So as long as you dont have any malfunctions , by all means keep on using the ISMI springs !

  8. Thanks guys, Have been busy , just got a chance to get back to my post!

Thanks for all the good advice, Ive got access to a private range, and Have had a little experience with drawing from a holster.(ie steel challenge, new to that game too).

I pick up one of the uncle mikes kydex holsters for my G34 and have been working on my draw, and dry fire.Got some IDPA targets tape them up on my basement wall and practice ,drawing and dry firing!

Hopefully this will help me out ,get me use to a different style of shooting discipline.

Thanks again guys for all the advice!

  9. What advice, could those of you that have shot IDPA, give to a beginner of the sport? I have shot GSSF for 4 and a half years now and I am thinking of trying a new shooting disipline. And IDPA seems like a good one to get started with!

  10. I have an open Glock 17 with a KKM barrel and comp, and an Optima Dot,and a stock slide spring. after some function and sighting in, I shot it in a local steel match tonight. When packing up I noticed nicks in the lens of the Optima. Just to add to this I did have a couple of stove pipes. I thought it might have been from limp wrist. What do you guys think it might be? My load is 6.5 gr HS6 w/124 MONTANA GOLD.

Thanks guys I would apreciate any help. I read this forum all the time. You guys are full of info.

                                                                John

John , A friend of mine had the same problem, with his optima!

The fix was to change over to the doctor optic red dot sight, same sight picture ,but it has a glass lens!On his it was ideed the brass hitting the optima lens, its plastic so the brass will leave marks. It wont on the doctor sight !

P.S. Your load sounds like a very good load, not having shot 124's I could be sure !

  11. Rufus, I have a G34, have ports cut in the barrel, just like the G17L (3ports).

I shoot rem 147gr match bullets at 135PF, using a aimpoint comp C red dot.

Recoil is low , no cycle problems and is a flat shooter! BTW I also run a tungsten guide rod!

  12. Texas, are you useing The ISMI flat wire springs or coil springs, Im shooting a G34 with tungsten guide rod and 15 lb spring and have not had one maulfunction!

Now If you are shooting "whimp loads" you may have to go to a 13lb flat wire spring!

The ISMI flat wire spring can be bought from TOPGLOCK or from BROWNELLS.

  13. A-merc and s&b are the 2 makes of brass I avoid with a passion. Have had at least 4 jams with this stuff , 2 in a match! Thats the kind of jam I dont need ! So I sort all these brands out if I pick up brass at an indoor or outdoor range! All others I have used do fine ,with no problems!

  14. Hey guys , I put a post on here about a month ago. About how platede bullets would act at about 1050 fps out of a pin gun. Well I found out .

I shopt about 200rds out of my new pin gun (45 acp) and all I can say is WOW. At 25yrds , they group about 1.5 inches. I was very pleased.

I was using a 200gr hex hollow point on top of 7.0 grs Vihtavouri N340.

  15. Thanks guys. I think you have answered my question.

I was thinking of tring Rainier 200gr hp at 1050 out of my open pin gun(45acp).

As long as they dont strip in the comp I think I will be ok.
