1. Thanks Mike, will follow up on your advice.
2. 20 boxes of bullets from Berry's arrived today. The Benton Harbor MI postmaster refused to deliver. Instead, post master called and said the boxes must be picked up at the post office. The post office is across the river (not through the woods) and in a bad part of town. Upon arriving, postmaster said bullets can not be shipped via US Mail. Sure they can, you just aren't educated as to what bullets are. They are not ammunition. Well the boxes have split, you can't ship these this way. Post master, please we didn't ship them, we paid for shipping to our door. If your people would handle packages with respect, the boxes wouldn't split. Complaint filed on USPS, I'll be surprised if there is any meaningful response.
3. Have you got a good and solid reloading bench? I have seen problems with case feeders dropping cases upside down because of a shaky table, maybe primers suffer the same problem. You could call Dillon and see what they suggest. Sent by someone using something.
4. But a C class Glock shooter will always be smoked by another C class shooter with a $5000 open gun. This supports the fact that gun modifications can help the shooter perform better. Sent by someone using something.
5. All of the above plus tuning your load to work well with the lighter recoil spring. Reduced power striker springs sometimes require the use of federal primers. The extra power trigger spring is needed to keep the reset strong. Pickup a copy of the Glock in Competition by Robin Taylor, all of this and so much more is covered. Depending on the how you will use your Glock you might find a couple other options to be worthwhile. It's very difficult to get 2# trigger without changing the fulcrum location on the Trigger bar. And experienced shooter like yourself shouldn't have any trouble with handling these mods. Sent by someone using something.
6. I did this and now my Glocks don't get used much. The STI Tactical has worked very well for me in 3 gun matches.
7. PM sent with contact info for people who might be able to help.
8. Went to an AS shoot in Waterviletr, Mi last fall. Enjoyed it very much. Learned a lot about history and shooting a long gun. Shoot my DCM style AR for the entire event. Scored Riflemen. Their training of instructors is cleary first rate. Highly recommend. Recently attended Patrol Carbine Instructor class. The Instructor changed my prone position, I shot. Then I took my AS prone position and shot, he told me to disregard the prone instructions he had given me.
9. Rebound spring tool from Brownells. They also have a S&W screwdriver set and the bits store in the handle. Spare front sight (pre-fitted) and pins if it uses them (punch for instal and removal). Spare fiber optic if used. Spare main springs, mainspring tension screw (pre-fitted) and other springs as needed. Lube oil. Squib rod.
10. Somewhere there is a listing on what temp you need for each color of loctite. Blue won't be much in comparision to red loctite. A lighter might be enough, I would start with my micro torch because I know where it is. Pick a technique and if the screw won't budge when heated, try a little more heat. You won't get too many chances at creating an alternate grip on the screw. If it all techniques fail, you can drill out the screw and put in a new screw if you don't damage sight. Otherwise a new sight will be needed.
11. If the sight is where you need it thats good. It gives you time to figure out how you may want to fix it. I have had good success cutting thin strips of sheet shim and putting that into the hole, then tapping the allen wrench in so it's snug. Heat the sight and then turn the screw out.
12. I use a motion computing tablet at work ($3500) and would much rather have the netbook I bought for $400 at CostCo. Having a keyboard is great for typing. But, I'm guess by tablet you might mean an iPad or Android tablet. Can't help you there other than I really like my Droid X2.
13. I just arrived home from the match. I had a great time and shot fairly well compared to usual. I'd like to thank the SKSC, RMs/CROs/ROs, Match Sponsors and the MI Section for putting on the match. The stages, food and facility are all first rate. I'd also like to thank the shooters. As the CRO on Hoser?,stage 8, you stayed with me on the range commands when we cleared your blasters. Words alone, cannot convey my appreciation for safely closing down a course of fire. Stage resets were fast and efficient; I never had to call for pasters or steel resets. Last but not least, Rob, drafted at the last minute to be a helper, really hustled and did a great job on the scoring and shooting order. He is a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again. Dave Warren USPSA Michigan Section Deputy Coordinator
14. As many of you know the Coloma Rod and Gun Club hosted Multigunand USPSA matches last year. They had just affiliated with USPSA and had apretty good first year. Several club members took the RO Level 1 course beforethe season started and they really tried to be prepared for hosting matches. Turns out the four bays they carved into the existingpile of dirt have become the subject of a lawsuit by the Coloma Township forbuilding a structure without a permit. That is exactly why the matches stopped. The case should be on the docket soon and Coloma Rod andGun Club will have legal bills and they have had quite a bit already. So how can we help the Club out? Come out and shoot ourmatches Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. There isn’t a match fee, justdonate what you can. The facilities will be open – made to order breakfast isavailable and so is lunch. Come out and turn some gunpowder into noise. Saturday’smatch is a Rattle Battle (a fast paced high-power style event with many divisions) and Sunday will be one BIG Multigun course offire with many divisions. Think of how the Flahive Memorial Tactical Match wasrun this past spring, something similar to that. Please help us get the word out to other clubs or listsof shooters and forward this message. For far more details go to www.colomarodandgunclub.com and follow the links to the match of interest oremail questions to dave@hitfactorshooting.com Attached are two PDFs with all the details about the Labor Day weekend festivities. 15. I have the spacer installed and never had a problem. My problem is my belly and I should have ordered the 4 round caddy instead of the six. I'll trade you my two - six rounders if you want.
16. The tip on the super nova is what I needed. I already have 9 round capacity with a ghost load.
17. I've been thinking it would be nice to get another round or two in my M4. Because of the way the magazine terminates at the magazine cap I had an idea. If I bought a Nordic components 2 round extension and an additional M4 magaize cap. Gave the parts to a machinist, could the machinist remove the m2 cap from the tube? Then mill out the M4 cap and afix the M2's extension to the M4 cap? The M4 cap is a little smaller diameter than the cap on my Benelli SBE. I think the SBE and M2 share tha same size cap. I understand it would cost about $140 in parts plus machinist time. So what else should I consider? It would be great to have an option for one or two more rounds in some of the matches I shoot (10 or 11 in the gun at the buzzer).
18. I mentioned earlier in this thread that my Pro Ears Predator Gold muff cut off due to condensation build up. So I called them about it. They said send in the muffs, they shouldn't do that. Last Monday shipped them out and today - Friday - they were back. New circuit boards and new batteries. Can't ask for better service than that. They sound better so I really think there was some kind of problem.
19. Imagine taking your 3 gun iron into the Olive Garden with you!
20. Very happy with the operation of Pro Ears Predator Gold. They work well with long guns because of the cup shape. Only one drawback. They fit so snugly condensation collects in the electronics and they stop working. This usually takes a several hours to occur. I have asked others with the same muffs and they have the same problem.
21. Voted Forever. We do lightweight work on guns and would keep it a long time before disposition. There would have to be lot's a failed attempts at returning it. While this has not happened to us I think we would pay the person/estate whatever we sold it for. Treating it more or less like a consignment sale if it got to that point. Pretty much the same idea as in the #3 post. As long as the firearm is transferred to a person who is not prohibited the BATFE doesn't have a dog in this race. That's my feeling on this aspect. edit - grammar
22. I bought the Eagle DOH and used a heat gun to soften the dust cover area and stuffed the Edge in. Now I can use it for both my Edge and Tactical 5.0.
23. The key to bending it, as mentioned above is the ejection wire is too short after bending so the loop that goes over the bolt head needs to be uncurled a little bit. Bend the wire so it rides as close to the shellplate as possible.
24.
I have one of the extended models mounted with a Leupold1.5x5 MRT on a SCAR 16. I blue Loctited it and over torqued the studs and put it away. When I took it out of the case to sight in a couple days later about half of the studs had broken off. Shipped it back and the studs were replaced no charge - even though it was my error.

I ordered a torque screwdriver and when the mount was returned I torqued to15-17 inch pounds. Mounted it again and went to the range. The charging handle and the quick release on the mount proved to be a pinch point. Removing the mount showed that I could rotate the quick release base 180 degrees. After rotating it and remounting it has proven to be very stable in spite of me.

You can remove the base to torque the studs without interference.

The SCAR doesn't need the extended model (with this scope), but I thought if I ever want to move it to an AR it will be handy.

Edit for format and spelling.

25. No real reason why you couldn't cut down the casefeeder support pipe and case feed tube to fit your room or make it an easy to access height.
