Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Hi, I have been trying to find the answer but no luck so far, I am upgrading from Dillon Square Deal B to XL750, can I use current my strong mount to XL750? It seems like I only need to bolt the XL750 straight onto the two side plates of the current one... anyone knows? Trying to figure out while awaiting for the XL750 to be delivered so I can leave the mount bolted on the bench if XL750 will fit onto it. Thanks in advanced. Cheers
  2. Thanks guys appreciate your insights Cheers!
  3. Thanks mate appreciate your help, I do use coated bullets. I will just do visual checks to give way for the bullet feeder... Cheers.
  4. Hey guys, I would like to ask if it is possible or someone here has already setup a XL750 with Powder Check sensor (not the low powder sensor), Electric Case Feeder and Electric Mr Bullet Feeder ? My initial research seems like it is not doable, just thought to check with you here who are more experienced in reloading. Thanks in advance. Cheers! Stay Safe. DVC
  5. 2nd hand STIs not covered by lifetime warranty?? Have to be the original purchaser to claim warranty?? https://stiguns.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/STI-Firearms-LLC-LIMITED-LIFETIME-WARRANTY-120419.pdf
  6. 1 x STI DVC Open in 38 Super with 4 x STI Mags Gen 1 1 x STI DVC Open in 38 Super Comp with 5 x “Crimped” STI Mags Gen 1 Questions: 1. If they both run smoothly on their current setup, and I have the reloading materials for both, is it worth converting the 38S to 38SC? Or just leave it? 2. If I will convert the 38S to 38SC, is it possible to tune ALL the mags to both pistols? Or do I really need to dedicate mags for each pistol even if they become both 38S? 3. Is this conversion doable without a gunsmith? With Dawson tuning tools, dremel, youtube videos, forums, and common sense, is it worth trying to DIY the conversion and mag tuning? Is it true that I only need to change or tune the extractor and tune the mags to convert from 38S to 38SC? Thanks in advance. Cheers!
  7. looking to buy additional magazine, what does "crimped" magazine mean? someone told me it is crimped to be like single stack magazine... what is your experience with it? My concern is more on feeding, as long as it feeds just like my other normal magazines then "crimped" is not an issue for me. I do not have access to MBX Mags here in Australia, the one I am looking to buy is a 2nd hand STI Mags in 126mm crimped to 10 rounds only, unsure if 1st or 2nd gen will find out tomorrow. Please advice. Thanks.
  8. I am stuck at the moment in choosing between 38S or 38SC for my STI DVC Open 38 Super. First silly question, my pistol says it is 38S, does it mean everything about my pistol is tuned for 38S load? Initial research tells me that all I need to do is get another dedicated extractor for 38SC and I am good to go, is this correct? or do I also need to tune my magazines and what else? Is there anything else needed to be changed in my 38S barrel? I assume there is no 38SC barrel? please forgive my ignorance.... The reason I am wanting to use 38SC brass is what people say about its advantage when it comes to stacking in the magazine and feeding reliability, is there really a massive difference when it comes to reliability? I got used to shooting a very reliable pistol in Production Division for 7 years, 98% of my handloaded ammo went bang, very very few FTE or FTF mostly because of something else, I know that in Open Division I will benefit on my meticulous approach to handloading, but I am unable to figure out which way to go, 38S or 38SC, if my goal is feeding and ejecting realibility. I am also considering at running my main pistol on 38SC then a backup (also a DVC Open) on 38S, will this benefit me or better to stick to one? Please share your thoughts and experiences... Thanks in advance. Cheers!
  9. with regards to using strong solvents in cleaning the bore and the compensator, is there any particular brand or chemical i need to be aware of not using that may damage the Tin coating? Such as Sweets Solvent which is really a very strong one... ( https://www.gunworld.com.au/sweets-solvent-7.62-200-ml~3595 ) I have a micro dremel tool that is just sitting in the garage, what is the best way to use this to cleaning the bore and compensator? Should I even use it? ( https://www.bunnings.com.au/dremel-stylo-multi-tool-engraver-with-15-accessories_p0078020 )
  10. Follow up question, is STI's lifetime warranty valid for all STI DVC lines regardless if brand new or second hand? planning to get a second hand DVC Open as a backup. Is this warranty valid for all owners anywhere in the world? I live in Melbourne Australia. What are your experiences with warranty claim for those who live outside U.S.? Did they cover the shipping cost? I read some horror stories about the slide and comp breaking at some point, so I am prepared for this inevitable cost of owning a DVC Open.
