  1. Most expensive stage is S&H. For the first year at my club we didn't run that one. We ran two bays and moved targets to pre pinned spots. Works well for what we have to work with
  2. We bought a set from GT targets a couple years ago. There's are made of 550 and so far have held up well. On top of that if one does fail he will replace it. As for the need of 550 v 500 I'm not really sure, the important thing is to have 3/8" thick. This might be a buy once cry once situation. Some clubs go cheap and go with 1/4" this really doesn't work well as the targets themselves fall off the 2x4 and experience cupping much sooner. For the bases it's around 50 or 60 a base. For the club we ended up buying two sets but for personal use I made two. Is it worth it, well I had some a material for the legs but the rectangular stock isnt really cheap. https://www.gttargets.com/steelchallenge.htm
  3. Stupid question, is the glass size and mount size the same as the full body version?
  4. I also believe that many are not aware that specific brass require a certain clip.
  5. Jim I stand corrected, you are right. However I shot with a friend of mine this summer who made it "x" percent however he didn't shot outerlimits. In this case he shot seven out of eight A number of times. A couple of times he skipped the stage to not take the percentage hit. I do remember now the 120s however this didn't go into his classification. He did eventually take the hit though when given the business. I understand his situation though, not many clubs run outerlimits nevermind on a frequent basis.
  6. It's a DNF, in a match the shooter would show up last. It would not effect rank at all beacuse if there is no time it's a just blank data.
  7. If you don't want to change the hammer out you can always do some cutting. This is what I've done on a couple of mine, tweak stock main spring, reduced rebound, plus extended pin and 1000-3000 grit paper.
  8. They work pretty well, excellent profile for loading. Iv run them in both 929 and 627s. I load mine pretty long so my oal is definitely not in any spec. Overall I'm satisfied with them.
  9. "the range is yours", "shooter ready, shooter appears ready", no "are you ready" just stand by. Sure are some creative people out there. How hard is it to say an incomplete sentence.
  10. 627 V Comp with 230s going around 1000' .
  11. Awesome work will definitely look ok though this later
  12. Honestly a lot of this is personal choice on where you place the rear sight. Either way for SC the most popular sights are Wiland. They have a number of rear sight choices that are inexpensive and easily swapped out. Again it's going to be what works best for you.
  13. One of the areas that I can see being unbalanced is the amount of youth vs senior. I shoot in a match almost every weekend April through November and see seniors and super seniors being the largest demographic represented. With this in mind it will certainly change percentages that competitors would earn. I am not saying that older competitors can not compete with the younger but when it comes to certain divisions they have the edge. An interesting stat would be to factor age into this as well. I don't think it's fair to compare what a 16 year old can do in RFRO vs a 70 year old. One could break down these divisions/ class forever.
  14. A mr. Bullet feeder die would work or A Lyman M die would provide the same function as well.
  15. I would guess it's two fold. One as you mentioned that, someone borrowing a gun shoots once to get classified then done. Second is that production, limited, single and iron revolver are the most trying divisions. People get discouraged and move on. Just my thoughts
  16. Can't think like that my friend. Just to give you hope I went through radiation and chemo this year and made GM in all rifle divisions. You can definitely make it, age is just a number
  17. They typically throw out percentages over 110% +/- into this calculation. It really comes down to how popular a certain division is.
  18. What would be the use for these barrels, power factor loads, mag loads ?
  19. Lastest update, going for a scope / biopsy next week. This will determine if and how much surgery I'll need. Still really praying I don't get a bag, really hoping.
  20. Can theses be equipped with iron sights?
  21. Iv seen one of these in person very slick looking, just don't know if it's worth the ~$500 price tag for 1.75 oz. One of the guys earlier said removing the lug all together cuts 4oz and must be much less labor intensive.
