Great information. I'm going to try and find some Accurate #7 to try as well. Looking at the burn rate chart, it's slower burning than Winchester 572.

Looking at a burn rate chart, 572 appears to be a slower than hs-6. I don't know anything about hs-7, but if both powders are comparable that would interesting to know. Thank you.

It is my understanding that Winchester 572 is the equivalent (replacement) to the old IMR 4756. Does anyone have any major load data using 572 in a 38 supercomp race gun; compensated no barrel popple holes. Currently loading 124 gr. jacketed RN VVN105, and sometimes VV3N38. I welcome all thoughts on this powder, thinking about purchasing a pound to try out. Thanks.

Hello everyone, Thanks for all of the advice pertaining to reloading 38 SuperComp. I reloaded some 124 gr. Xtreme FMJ (RN) using vv3n38 at 9.6 grs. My average speed today in 83 degree weather at 4300 ft elevation (Nevada) was 1464.4 fps, yielding 181.55 pf: COL 1.260, using WSR primers. Pretty darn accurate; was happy with the load out of my STI DVC O. Does anyone have information on reloading 115 gr RN using the same powder. I'm looking for bullet seating depth, utilizing the same powder (vv3n38), or Winchester AutoComp. Any information would be helpful. I know with the 115 gr bullet, I'll have to be at 1450 or better for major. PF. Thank you.

I appreciate your advice. I have two popple holes in my barrel. Everything I've seen is more or less for 124 grain, which is fine. I heard a lot of good things about 115 gr. bullets. And I'm really itching to try it out for myself.

So I know that 9 major is where everyone has pretty much gone over the past few years; or so it seems. I am now competing with a STI DVC O in 38 super comp. I am looking to reload major using 3n38 powder, Xtreme 115 grain jacketed RN bullets, and Winchester SRP. Would have preferred to use Montana Gold 115 hollow points, unfortunately they are out of stock like everything else in our great nation. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

By the way, I'm using Wolf Springs for the recoil and main spring. The Wolf main spring seems a tad bit long. Is anyone trimming down the main spring, and if so, how many coils. Thank you.

I completely agree Mr.Barone with respect to grip. If you're referring to Jerry Miculek, he's at a whole other level when it comes to shooting; that man is something I dream of becoming. I believe that grip is everyone's nemesis. I don't struggle that much with my grip, but if I can hone my gun to what I believe is perfect (which there's no such a thing LOL), I believe it will help my game. Speed and accuracy in this sport is the name of this game; with that being said, so are the basic gun handling fundamentals; grip, trigger and sight picture. Thank you for your input sir. Johnny.
