  2. I looked those up online, but I mostly found websites or Facebook pages that haven’t been updated in years. Are all of those clubs still active? St Augustine is a pretty good haul, but I found this NFDCC which does 2-gun matches monthly at Bradford Sportsman’s Farm in Graham, FL. Is that different from the FDCC you mentioned? thanks again for the info
  3. Thanks everyone...I’m near Alachua. So far I’ve only been competing at the ShootGTR facility in Gainesville. Can you recommend other pistol or 2-gun matches in the area? I’m not familiar with those clubs you mentioned except I’ve heard of NFDCC (North FL Defensive Carbine) who does some matches.
  4. I don't mean which die comes in the set, but rather does the bullet seating die do some kind of crimp on its own so you don't need to use a separate die?
  5. Do the newer Lee bullet seating dies also do a taper crimp? So when loading the coated bullets, that could give it enough of a crimp without using the Factory Crimp Die? I thought I read somewhere that the bullet seating die does some kind of crimp on its own.
  6. Hey folks, I'm a reloading newbie and just completed my first 9mm loads and shot them at the range. I loaded 125gr CN coated Black Bullets Intl., over 3.8gr of Titegroup. Using the Hodgdon reloading data for 125gr LCN, the starting load was 3.6gr (1002 fps) and max load 4.0gr (1096 fps). I had to start with 3.8gr due to using the Lee auto-disk powder measure, there was no hole for 3.6gr. I understand that these will shoot differently than the plain lead bullet which this load data is for, but my chronograph results were 1114-1129 fps, so I'm getting higher velocity with 3.8gr than the data says I should get for a max charge of 4.0gr (although for a non-coated bullet). Shot from a Walther PPQ w/ 4.6 inch barrel. So 2 questions I have: -Does the coating make that much of a difference, that I'm getting ~75 fps higher velocity than the load data says for the same weight plain lead bullet? -Do I need to reduce my charge down to 3.7gr or 3.6gr, or is the higher velocity at 1114-1129 fps okay to shoot with these coated bullets? Thank you in advance!
  7. Yep I agree with the folks above, looks like it could be an OOB discharge very similar results to this example: https://www.facebook.com/CopperasCovePistolClub/posts/2882490415124018 Might not be your reloads that caused it.
  8. Hello everyone...new member introduction. I have been doing local USPSA-style 2 Gun matches in North Florida for about a year now, and I'm just getting into reloading. I've got the new Lee APP press and I'm loading 9mm with coated lead bullets (BBI and Blue Bullets), and planning to load .223 and .300 BLK soon. I've come across this forum while doing google searches for load data and trim lengths so I decided to sign up. Seems like my kind of forum, and lots of knowledgeable people, so I'm glad to be here. Feel free to say hello, give me advice about reloading or shooting 2-Gun, or ask me questions about my reloading so far on the App press system. Stay safe everyone!
