Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. None of my Shadow 2s Blue/Orange do this. Something might be up with the gun.
  2. My CZ Shadow 2 Orange is super super tight. Zero barrel play or movement. Much tighter than the CGW bushing on my modified Shadow 2 Blue. You actually need the wrench and a moderate amount of force to turn it. Sounds like you got a Friday gun with your Orange.
  3. I'd be shocked to see the DWX released this year. I am guessing early next year. Still want one though.
  4. For the money, on paper, the Staccato P looks hard to beat. The only other close competitor in the price range is the yet to be released Dan Wesson DWX. For a double stack 2011 in the $2K price range, there are not a whole lot of other options, and even less if you want something with decent quality. As for NightHawk, I own/love their single stack .45 1911 design. Not so sure about their 2011 doublestack 9mm pistols like the TRS. This design is a new adventure for them, and for $4500, I want to be sure it is rock solid and problem free. I'm also not too keen on the looks of the NightHawk 2011 looks either. Very plain and industrial looking. Almost like a prototype pistol that is unfinished.
  5. You have to be joking? Especially with the 2011? Most reliable gun you know? Time to meet more guns. The ftf magazine issues alone render the 2011 suspect at best. Not something you want to deal with in the middle of a firefight. I'll take a Glock everyday and twice on Sunday. There will always be the 2-3 "shootists" on the PD or in SO teams that prefer to rock their 1911/2011 cocked/locked... but for the everyday LEO... Glock is much safer choice.
  6. +1000000 Completely agree. Like them or hate them, Glocks are nothing save reliable. They flat out work. Clean, dirty, neglected. Simple point and shoot reliability. The price is the cherry on the sundae. Simplicity and reliability are what LEOs want. Period.
  7. This +1000. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen STIs have issues at matches... DVC, Edge, et al. When it’s life or death... give me a Glock.
  8. I vote Atlas. Based on the fact that they have the largest sample size in use. The other two are much smaller companies imho and I haven't seen either in the wild so to speak.
  9. Beat me to it. Or to put it another way... something that may result in a $5K paperweight.
  10. Tell me about it. I’ve been trying to avoid just getting a $5K custom built gun... but if I keep buying these $2K semi-customs... I’ll go over that $5K mark fast. Decisions, decisions.
  11. The slide to frame and barrel fit are tighter in the S2O. Smoother racking. Just tighter tolerances all around. Maybe a little softer to shoot. I like the TSO... but need DA/SA for competition.
  12. Thanks for the feedback. The A01-LD to me almost seemed very industrial and somewhat unfinished looking/feeling compared to the Shadow 2 in-hand. Hard to put in to words. Completely agree with you on the $$$ gear =/= great performance. Practice, practice, practice.

    VP9-B OR?

All the current VP9-B models I've seen currently in stores do not have the optics cut.
  14. Hi all... Long time reader, first time poster... I recently purchased a CZ Shadow 2 Orange and absolutely love it. Zero issues. It is replacing my Shadow 2 Blue with some CGW mods. Now... I also have been looking at and have had a chance to handle (not fire) the A01-LD at my LGS. I am seriously considering adding an A01-LD to the stable, but have read here and elsewhere, some issues with the CZC Bull Barrels locking up and/or slide fitment causing some issues. So is the A01-LD "different" enough to justify owning both it and the Shadow 2 Orange together? Also, what is everyone's respective opinion on the Bull Barrel design and execution from the CZ Custom Shop in Mesa, AZ? Some prefer a bushing as they feel it gives a tighter barrel fit and can be easily replaced down the road... while others feel the Bull Barrell gives a tighter fit, but then you may have both a barrel and slide to replace. Reliability is very important to me. This would be used for IPSC and USPSA Production class. I've also been eyeing the new Dan Wesson DWX as an option as well... but they aren't out yet I think. I know this is a completely different animal... but it looks great. Thanks in advance for feedback!
