    20rd mags for 92

If you haven't already bought mags, here is the best place to buy 18-20rd MecGar Beretta mags. Use the word stimulus and get another 10% off. So $18 for 18rd and $22.50 for 20rd mags. Good luck http://www.botachtactical.com/mebe92f20ma.html
  2. I suspect that the 2000 unit objective has or will be met and noted accordingly. I finally picked up a Pro series. The trigger is OK, the fiber optic front sight I like and rear sight is OK. I may put on a 10-8 rear, with the U shaped notch. I would definitely get the L or Pro over a 4" but hurry so you can get your free mags. That offer expires in a week or so! Good luck!
  3. I found a LT20 1100 synthetic youth at a gun show and a regular LT20 synthetic on gunbroker, both in like new condition, both for just under $400. There is nice supply of used LT 20 barrels out there. I have one cut to 18" with a bead and then I sent one of the guns, along with a plain barrel to Wilson. It now sports SGT Trac Lock sights 18" barrel and 2 shot extension. For the youth model I have a 3 shot Choate extendsion on the 21" barrell youth gun and it handles nice. That would be my recommendation. A used 1100 LT20 synthetic youth with a Choate 3 shot extension. better balance and less weight than a 12.
  4. Bad news: Still no sign of the 9L or Pro Good news: 2 M&P mags and rebate check just came in, one day apart. Only took 60 days this time!
  5. Big fan of the VR28 lens. The deeper tinted gray and black lenses don't have the sharp contrast of the brown lenses. Also, any of the mirrored lenses scratch easier and give annoying reflections off of the inside of the lens when the sun is at your back. Vermillion lenses are great for cloudy days. Tried some of the shooter lenses on but didn't care for the contrast.
  6. Chris, Did you ever get a SIG?

    S&W pro

I handled both the Pro and the L models at the shot show. I know they were pre production versions but I didn't notice that much difference in the trigger pull. Also, I didn't care for the F.O. sights. If there is too much difference in price I'll opt for the L and have Burrwell put an action job and his black sight with an AmeriGlo serrated black front.
  8. Smith just sneak released the new offer, $30 OR 2 free magazines, not both. Hey 2 free mags will be better than nothing! The offer starts 5-15.
  9. I'll be looking forward to the 9L soon! A friend called Smith and someone told him that a $30 rebate and 2 free magazine offer is coming! That would be good timing.
  10. You can do quite a lot to a 1911 and still have it legal. I picked up a Springfield Armory Loaded Stainless 1911 9mm that is the most reliable "factory" 1911 I have ever owned. It is also fun to shoot, and way cheaper whether it's reloads or WWB. The biggest improvement I have done to it is also the cheapest. I put a strip of skateboard tape across the front strap and slightly under the grip panels to insure that it stays put. As much as I hate to admit it the grip tape has far better feel and control than the 3 20 lpi checkered 1911's that I have. Hey, there is my $ .50 worth. Future addition, a Wilson Ambi safety, the factory safeties are too narrow for me.
  11. Sent my rebate form on my second S&W M&P9. I will probably own an M&P9L before the check and mags get here! By the way, has anyone tried the Uncle Mikes Kydex holster for the M&P?
  12. I have an older P226 9mm that shoots great just the way it is. I wrote to Bruce a couple of years ago and decided to hold off on his short reset competition action, big mistake! Due to the awsome work they do, Gray Guns action work has doubled in price since I first wrote. I have a short trigger and 19# spring and put tape around the grips. I don't usually like white painted sights but the bar dot SIG sights seem to work well. I have Comptac belt holster and mag pouches and they work well. Good luck.
  13. I say Aluminum framed Elite. I have an older W. Germany P226 that shoots very well and hits POA with most anything I put in it. I bought and just sold a P226ST thinking it would be a lot softer shooting due to the weight. Well, it was heavier but didn't seem to have any less muzzle flip and I felt like the lighter aluminum framed 226 handled better! I think with the new SRT trigger and a few rounds on the action and you'll like either, but, the lighter gun is my preference. One other piece of advice. Before you spend big bucks on a holster, try an Uncle Mikes belt or paddle holster. I just picked one up for the ST as my Comptac wouldn't fit the railed pistol. The Uncle Mikes fit the rail and the belt model is only $15. Good luck!
  14. Hey, I am all in favor of Smith and Wesson giving me a $50 rebate and $50-$60 worth of magazines (Which are very nice magazines if you haven't noticed!) to sell more pistols. If it gets people shooting them and spreading the word. Glock gave away money by cheap selling their plactic fantastics to law enforcement agencies but it certainly seemed to work. So, just get me an M&P9L before the rebate offer expires and I will spread the word. Can I get an amen?
  15. An American Handgunner magazine many moons ago, wrote that Glock owned over 66% of all new law enforcement sales. That was years ago and left only a third of the pie for EVERY other pistol produced! I would think it is an even bigger gap today and same goes for Production Class dominance.
  16. I would like to split the difference and still get it before the rebate/2 magazine deal expires. I still went ahead and bought another M&P9 regular size. This is a good way to have plenty of mags.
  17. I handled them at SHOT as well. Seemed to have a really nice balance and didn't seem top heavy. I think they will create a an even bigger slice of Production class pie for S&W.
  18. I have a full size M&P9, I'll think I'll get one more. My magazines took over a month and the check over 2 months to get.
  19. Like many, I was hoping to get one bouht before the rebate/magazine offer expired. I'll just have to wait. Jeff
  20. Thanks, I hope someone posts when they see them become abailable.
  21. Anyone know where you can get the M&P longslide? Wouldn't mind getting one before the rebate/mag offer expires. Jeff
  22. I think the earlier post about benching the gun is correct. The answers to this problem can also be found in the latest Front Sight magazine. In an article where Big Daddy E's method for gaining trigger control starts you out shooting the pistol from... the bench, using... sandbags! I know I tend to experience the left of center grouping, or as I call it, my "controlled flinch". But as we all know, no flinch is a good flinch.
  23. Thanks for the info! I am going to get a recoil guide so I can switch springs. Hmmm, 4% huh?
  24. I am looking at the stainless and tungsten guide rods. Does the tungsten really reduce recoil?
