  1. When reloading rifle cartridges' that have shoulders that shoulder bump will be the most important part of sizing. Erik Cortina has made a YouTube video that helped me out a lot to get this correct. Hope this helps.
  2. Do you always end where you start in a USPSA stage? 95%+ of the time that answer would be NO. Isn't all but like 2 SC stages you end where you start the stage? So the case/bag does not have to retrieved. Again not practical for match flow when it comes to USPSA stages. Not only that but these rules have been in affect for how long now regarding un-casing and bringing the PCC to the start position with zero issues? Really, what is the point of un-casing at the berm versus the start position when it comes to USPSA discussion? That would be nothing.
  3. Really?? Is there a requirement in the rules where your pistol is required to be flagged? Is there a safe area at every berm at every range? Pretty unrealistic really.
  4. If you go with the EXPS model It is not required. For competition reason I would not use one with the EXPS due to the fact you would have a rather larger height over bore for your optic. I do not find it uncomfortable as I have the buttstock high and on the inside part of my collar bone (not in my shoulder pocket as many teach) so I have little to zero noticeable head dip. If you do choose to go that route with a riser make sure you practice a bit to get the understanding of the height over bore at different distances as you will incur penalties if you do not have a good grasp of that concept. For my AR I use the Unity Tactical riser for the EXPS and the EOTech magnifier. Highly recommended if you go with the magnifier as it keeps the optic system extremely streamlined. I have a pretty good grasp of the height over bore when I use the AR for competition. I can switch back and forth between the PCC and the AR without issue to keep shots on target.
  5. To be honest, I didn't note any difference once on the clock. There are some benefits to the Holo vs dot, but the only one that might apply to you astigmatism is the Holographic should not burst. Like I said before the reticles in holographic optics are grainy but they do not bloom unlike what I have experienced with various dots. The only other real benefit is the EOTech is enclosed where the 510C is not. I ran into an issue only one time where that mattered over the last 3 years. If you compete in areas with snow or rain often the enclosed optic might be the better option otherwise it's a wash between them other than price point in my eyes. Something to note, astigmatisms are different from person to person, so I cannot say if you will have issues with the 510c dot blooming for your astigmatism. I will say that you would be buying a cheaper optic in the Holosun 510C and be able to sell it for close to cost if you chose to move on from it. If you do go the 510C route, buy the riser plate that raises the optic. You will be glad you did. Hope this helps.
  6. I have three of these extensions and I have never tuned any part of the Glock mags before installing them. I have used them sparingly over the last 2.5-3 years without issue. But, yesterday the mag would not feed at all. Luckily I noted it before my stage run started so I could switch to another mag which ran fine. It might be the spring, but I will tune the mags before installing the extension moving forward.
  7. This is always the case with every Holographic optics. They are always grainy/not sharp. If you are using the optic correctly as in target focused you never notice this. I run both EOTech EXPS and Sig Romeo 3 XL optics on numerous guns. I run the 3 XL mostly on pistols, but would not hesitate to run them on my PCC. I for whatever reason shoot steel way better with the EOTech with its dot circle combo reticle versus just a single dot. I cannot tell you why that is the case, it is what it is. Sig seems to have fixed their button issues which seemed to be the biggest reliability bug with the optic, so if you were to buy new I think there would not be much of a reliability issue with the XL. I think it really comes down to if you want a dot or a dot and circle reticle. If you are on the fence maybe you do look into the Holosun 510C which was my first optic on my PCC which was great. With the Holosun you can determine which reticle works best as you can switch from just a dot, to just a circle, or a combo of the circle and the dot. Play around with that and you will find which one you prefer. For me at the end of the day, I wanted consistency of optics on my rifles, so any rifle that does not have an LPVO gets the EOTech which includes the PCC. This way all of my rifles are the same. I so far have preferred the Sig Romeo 3 XL on my pistols for a variety of reason. The main reason is the dot is always crisp even with my astigmatism. I will test and play with other optics, but I always come back to the XL as my optic of choice on pistols. Good luck in your search.
  8. Yes I would think so, especially is one hung up upon ejection. I would run longer mags and figure out how to install limiters/spaces in the mags. Not sure if New Jersey allows such mags. I have had someone 3-D print up new floor plate inserts with extra material that only allow 15 rounds in the magazine for carry guns I have.
  9. Who knew there were enough revolver shooters in one area to hold such a match????
  10. When using the TTI extensions, make sure that you keep your OAL under 1.1250. If the OAL is longer you risk the chance of hanging up in the extension. I keep my OAL at 1.12 to make sure that I have zero feeding issue.
  11. Too much parallax. Even the Gen II seems to have too much parallax. Do your research before buying. Many would agree there are better options at better price points.
  12. If not joking I am not sure where you shoot, but every USPSA match I have attended, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 matches it is expected to allow the person that just shot to get their equipment ready for the next stage. If one choses to clean their mags they may do so, along with loading them or any other item that needs to be addressed. It is hardly a problem, just as the on deck shooter is allowed to not tape to walk the stage for the final time(s). They are NOT a part of any problem.
  13. Not of fan of the DAA version of ELS. Not very durable.
  14. Cool story, but just because life is normal in your section does not mean that is the case in every section. FYI most of our section has no idea who Stoeger is nor do they care but do recognize what is going on in USPSA. Clubs are talking about putting on other matches other than USPSA, and some are open to exploring other rule sets and organizations. Something to keep in mind here is the Club and their boards (if they have a board) dictates what they are gong to do regarding rule sets, and the matches they choose to put on. Not the shooters. Most Clubs (those who run the clubs) completely understand the dysfunction and constant drama that is gong on in USPSA and are put off by it. Some clubs are discussing running outlaw matches and giving out prizes instead of giving the money to USPSA to support their shooters versus paying into the abyss. It will be an interesting year to see what all the different clubs do.
  15. I get where you are coming from on the Mike Factor, but the K zone does give stage designers an interesting aspect they did not have before in designing stages regarding round count. I have created and shot numerous interesting stages with round count in mind regarding k zone targets. It can be an interesting part of the puzzle. I too am not crazy about not having a minimum PF.
  16. It would seem that 97% - 98% of people who shoot USPSA currently are consumers, and that is exactly what they want. Fortunate or unfortunate as that may seem.
  17. Or make you a boy or a girl depending on which PF you choose to shoot.
  18. What I find interesting is how anyone thinks that dots or irons will be used in most instances of a self defense shooting. As @Racinready300exmentioned most self defense shooting occur so close you will not have time to use a dot or irons, and most likely revert to natural index aiming of the gun. Would anyone agree a more important question would be what gun do you index the best? Rare occasions is where the dot or irons would actually be used. An instance like the Dickens dude that dropped the mass shooter in Indiana. In situations like that is where actually aiming matters are rare in self defense shootings. In any case it does not matter which system is used as long as the user is proficient. Obviously both systems have pros and cons, but both are able to perform the task effectively.
  19. Using the calibration function should not dent any parts of the press. If it is something else is going on. The reason for the Calibration process is the press is analyzing what a normal stroke looks like so it calibrates the motor to stop the down stroke at the appropriate spot. Make sure your torque sense is set properly. If it is set to high, I could see a a scenario where the press could become damaged.
  20. Just tweaked the end of it towards station 8 die a bit, make sure you don't tweak it to where it is under the crimp die (or whatever die you have in station 8). It will get smashed. Make the tweak adjustment with the tool head down to prevent this. I have also noted the after market shell plates are so tight the can create issues unlike the more forgiving Dillon Shell plates.
  21. I had to tweak the shell ejection lever at station 8 which kicks the loaded ammo off the shell plate. Also what speed are you running? Are you using an aftermarket shell plate?
  22. Which model EoTech is it? If it is the older 500 series where the batteries are inline/parallel with the rifle bore, the battery tabs would become deformed due to recoil, creating a situation where the batteries would loose connection. This is one of the main reason the newer EXPS series has the battery horizontal in relation to the rifle bore.
