  1. I have to ask what you're referring to with the 5 mils. All my time in engine rebuilding and working at CNC machining the mils confuses me?
  2. Are you meaning a measurement of .0005 and after tightening .0025. A depth of .003 to .007 is ideal.
  3. I agree to disagree, my thought is if you are unsuccessful at trigger control ( smooth & keeping sights on target) all the speed of the draw, target acquisition is for not if you can't produce a smooth trigger pull. Just my take on it.
  4. (Not so much on the trigger press). This is what dry firing is all about developing a smooth consistent trigger pull. If you cannot pull the trigger while not disturbing the sight picture then all the target acquisition, drawing, and reloading will be for not. For dry fire practice place a quarter, nickel, or dime the choice of coin is yours on top of the gun right behind the front sight. Pull the trigger without making the coin fall of the gun. When you can achieve that with consistency then add this which would be practice, acquire targets/indexing, drawing. Dry fire is all about trigger pull practice
  5. Finally got my bullet order and in the past 2 weeks have 5,550 9mm rounds loaded. Great press and at a moderate pace I load 400 rounds and hour.
  6. As far as installing 2 grease fittings in the small holes that already exist I ask why? If anything wears out Dillon will replace it free, right? My thought is, if this were a problem with parts wearing out and Dillon having to replace parts due to wear they would have installed the fittings at the factory. 2 grease fitting have to be less expensive than the parts in the linkage being replaced. Seems like folks have been trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist. The only mods I have done is the bearing plate for the primer bar and I had the tool maker at work put a flat spot on the bolt holding the shell plate on so the set screw has a flat surface to contact so the bolt won't spin loose.
  7. No feathers ruffled and good call on the place for the IRC. Rumors had been out for awhile that Frostproof was the place and the rumors came true. Hope to see you there. Well not your feathers ruffled, maybe Dave S. I would never have posted if my info was sketchy. I also have info on the Southern Regional but will reserve from posting about date and location. So much for myself spreading rumors
  8. Yeh we have 2 USPSA matches a month as well as a 2 gun, IDPA, and 2 steel matches with our ICORE match. It doesn't hurt to put it out there. Nothing ventured nothing gained
  9. That would be cool to let single stacks shoot at local matches ... (stage solutions should be similar right??!?) ... Let them do what they regularly do ... 8 +1 in the chamber (no 10 round minor guys) ... don't screw with their normal routine (IMHO). It would be fun for everyone to be able to compare results. Nope, have them start with 8 rounds max regardless of caliber
  10. I am going to open registration to single stack shooters, 8 rounds max in the gun hoping it will up match attendance. As others have stated numbers have stagnated this past year.
  11. Doing 10 hour shifts as a CNC machine operator on the footsies, I'd rather sit while reloading
  12. Thanks again for the insight. For now I'm going with bench mount. If need be I can always order the strong mount kit.
  13. I see the feathers have been ruffled. I should have just passed this thread by and not replied
  14. If I were to disclose I would not get any more info, but as stated nothing etched in stone, yet
  15. Thanks guys for all the info. Much to think about, choices and more choices.
  16. I'm in the process of purchasing the 550. I can mount either way being the bench is strong enough. If I use the strong mount it means a different chair just for reloading and my current chair for doing any gun cleaning. My question for those who have the 550 any advantage to either way of mounting the press, pro's and con's to either way?
