In my knowledge and what I was told when it comes to open is to use rifle primers. Also I just checked my open guns and none of them have the protruding firing pins. From a newbie
I just shoot for fun. Get to shoot and squad up with famous shooters. I'm not a good shooter. I only have class D's and C. Not even classified in all the divisions. I kinda like showing off my equipment . But it's all for fun. Next goal would be to go into World Shoot in IPSC.
With no disrespect, I would just sell it as is and buy a new one. Too many things probably needs to be changed both inside and out. Sad part will be the slide to frame fit.
I hope that they learn from it as I did with my first at my 2nd Nationals. I also remember a GM getting dqed at a match, so no hard feelings at all. I knew it was my mistake and everyone's safety.
Single stack is a 1911 with bushing barrel. Minimum .40 diameter, but can be shot with a 9mm minor.
Yes, holster is non race style. Limited and limited 10 are can be with a race holster
I've always used a plastic bristle brush. Use a regular solvent and a patch. I never clean without a bore guide and always only going 1 way through the barrel. I take off the brush and the jag before pulling the rod back out.
