  1. Yes, I was referring to IPSC MR, yes, it helps.
  2. Just to be 100 % sure, I had a conversation with an OC during a match today, it was his impression that coupled magazines are not allowed in Mini-Rifle, period, it was my impression that based on the wording of APPENDIX D, that only applies to Standard Division, not Open, any ideas ?
  3. I wear Mechanix originals for regular non IPCS pistol shooting because they give me a better grip, now I'm looking at the 5.11 Taclite 4.0 mostly for winter shooting.
  4. Thanks ! Was looking at some 5.11 gloves for shooting during the winter months and just wanted to be 100 % sure that I could still use them for IPSC matches.
  5. Basically that, are gloves still OK to use according to the rulebook (PCC, Shotgun, Mini-Rifle, Rifle, etc) ?
  6. Damnit ! How is it possible that in 2023 no one makes a flared magwell for a DPMS lower ?!
  7. Would you mind sharing the name of the distributor ? Thanks !
  8. Great ! I ended up installing the KynSHOT hydraulic buffer (Model RB5004 “Shorty”) and a Tubb Precision AR-10 Flatwire Buffer Spring, works great, it really does soften up the recoil, I have a Magpul enhanced mag release on the way and after that I only need Genesis to sell me a freaking flared magwell kit ! That thing has been out of stock for more than a year ! Seriously, what's the deal with the magwell kit ? I've seen it on new production units, Taran has them on that special edition model he made in collaboration with Genesis, why is it so hard to have them back in stock ? For a shotgun that's targeted to the competitive shooter, not having a flared magwell adapter available it's kinda silly, does anyone if Genesis makes that part or if they outsource it like with the mag extensions from Taylor Freelance ?
  9. That looks sick, it's amazing what Patrick has been able to do with the Gen-12, you running the stock buffer/spring combo or some kind of hydraulic setup ?
  10. Understand the sight part, but the other part just makes no sense to me at least, the diagram in E1 has someone holding a carbine with a magazine inserted, how is that supposed to cover all three ready conditions when option 3 specifically requires the magazine to be outside the gun ? It also causes some issues when it comes to where the charging handle is positioned on different gun models, I know this might not be an issue in the US, but here, a lot of people have Ruger PC9s as their main competition gun, and let me tell you, with this new rule, that side charging handle really makes a difference, before, it didn't matter what kind of charging handle your gun had, since you were already holding it when you started the course of fire. IDK, seems like going back on something that was already pretty fair and no one was complaining about.
  11. So, running 2 sights at the same time in PCC Optics is no longer allowed ? Also, I've been told by my local RM that for "Loaded (Option 2)" start we are no longer allowed to have one hand on the pistol grip and the other one on the charging handle, it has to be one on pistol grip one holding the handguard, his rationale for this comes from the picture on "APPENDIX E1: Diagram of Competitor Ready Condition". I don't know, that last one in particular doesn't make much sense to me, wouldn't the picture be more like an indication of the position the firearm should be in relation to the shooters body, more than a strict definition on where to put your hands ?
  12. He might not be from the US, so the NFA doesn't really apply to him, I live in Argentina and here most of the PCC shooters have MPXs with 8 inch barrels in "pistol" form but with a stock, yeah, it's still a pistol, don't ask me how that makes sense. I would recommend something with bigger side ports: https://fortismfg.com/muzzle-brake-9mm-red-mod2-28 I also wouldn't worry about the muzzle blast interfering with your red dot, I mean, we're still talking regular handloads barely above power factor, right ?
  13. The people that have problems with their MPX do know you have to clean them, right ?
  14. Awesome video sir ! FYI I'm the guy pestering you about the flared magwell kit
  15. Thanks, will surely be interesting to know what insight those people might have about this ! No, don't me wrong, I think it's perfectly OK within the rules, I'm just trying to settle a disagreement I had with another shooter. Again, thanks and good luck with the match
  16. Well, that was what the other shooter pointed to me, wouldn't this be a problem if you wanted to start with a coupled magazine on a loaded start ?
  17. Seems like a good idea, worst case scenario they don't start you and thet point as to where in the rules does it say it's not allowed. Thanks again !
  18. Thanks, yeah, that's exactly where I currently stand.
  19. First of all, thanks for all the info, yes, I know that couplers are not allowed on PCC, and that they're allowed on Mini Rifle, my question is, on Mini Rifle, on a loaded start, is there any rule that would prevent me from starting with a coupled magazine inserted into the gun ?
  20. Well, I was having a friendly conversation with another shooter after a match, and this situation came up, Mini-Rifle, IPSC rules, when starting "loaded", is it OK to start with a magazine that's coupled to another one ? I didn't find anything on the rule book that said it wasn't allowed, the other shooter mentioned something about a minimum distance that a magazine not attached to the gun must have from it at the start signal, never heard about anything like that, but then again, never shot Mini-Rifle, only PCC and Shotgun Open Division, so, no couplers allowed there. Thanks and sorry if this a very dumb question
  21. +1 for Hoppes #9, also, considering the price of an MPX, if you had the money to buy one, I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest your time is worth more than the spare parts that would be required to just do a "quick" clean up of the gas system and once that no longer works just replace whatever is giving you problems. Don't know, just my 2 cents.
  22. Thanks Mr Kelley ! I have been following your Instagram, it seems to me that outside from the people who work at Genesis, you might be the one person who best knows the inner workings of this thing. Any suggestion for a good comp that might strike a nice balance between recoil reduction and reliability ? I was looking at the Howitzer70 from Hi-Tech: http://www.hitechcc.com/product/HTC-121_VS.html
  23. Quick correction, grams not grains, clearly this is my first shotgun.
  24. OK, sorry, this took freaking 2 months: Still plan to change a few things, but it's been running great, I'm still surprised on how easy it is to clean this thing.
