Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I heard that 80% of the Harleys are still on the road. The other 20% made it home!
  2. +1 to the Liquid Wrench Dry Lube. Mick, a local GM told me he uses something with PTFE in it. He said it's the magic ingredient you need to look for in a dry lube. The Liquid Wrench DL is the only thing I could find in a pinch one Friday before a match and I've had great success in my open gun mags. I spray a shot in the tube and on the follower, then I run a clean rag through the tube after it dries. You can buy it at Wal-Mart. I have to say, after reading about the Sailkote, it looks awesome. I'll be buying a can of that to try. Thanks for the Tip. Darin
  3. DAPS will have a USPSA match this Sunday at Elm Fork in Dallas. The web site is www.dallaspistol.com Hope to see you there. Darin
  4. I thought the match was great. Unfortunately, the hard cover targets, no shoots, and 8" steel plates ate my lunch. Thanks to everybody for their hard work. The prize table looked awesome. It's just a shame they didn't divide the prizes up where everybody that shot got something. They were handing 2 or 3 things out at a time to a lot of shooters, then got down to the last few shooter numbers and had nothing for them.
  5. I thought the area coordinator told us that was open. We will check to make sure we don't have a conflict. I am not the web geek and hadn't been on our site today. I guess I better check it out. Thanks, DC
  6. Thanks to both of you for saying so. I'd say about a third or more of the shooters last night shot their first USPSA match. A good number of those people didn't have a whole lot of IDPA matches under their belt, either. One guy even wore a concealment garment , but took it off after I made fun of him. We had 43 shooters and got in 3 good stages. We have a lot of our regular shooters that frequent the Double Tap matches. If you are a regular, you would probably recognize them. They are the ones that look like they are having more fun than everybody else and the group includes a girl that shoots an SV open gun that doesn't shoot like a girl. Hopefully I can make it up to OKC sometime soon. As far as the weekend matches go, we are seriously looking at holding a match on the fourth Sunday and will probably announce that soon. Where is the video? Did Steve post some of his? Thanks, Darin
  7. We are having our first offical USPSA tomorrow night. Sign up starts at 5:30 pm. Hammer down at 6pm. We will be shooting 2 run and gun, a standard type stage and a classifier. See you at the range, Darin http://www.dallaspistol.com/DAPS/default.aspx
  8. Dallas Action Pistol Shooters (formerly IDPA Dallas) has started hosting a Wednesday night USPSA match. It will be held every third Wednesday of the month at Elm Fork Shooting Range. Our first official USPSA match will be June 21. We plan on shooting 4 stages (time permitting) including a classifier. We have been hosting Wednesday night IDPA matches for years and are excited about branching out to USPSA. Our web site should be up and running next week. I'll post the link when we get it. Thanks, Darin
  9. I have shot tens of thousands of their bullets through my Limited gun, and my Glock 21 (with an aftermarket barell) and have no problem. Shoot 'em up. DC
  10. Thanks. I just got off the phone with Tripp, He suggested sending the barrel back so he could inspect it. I'll let y'all know what he says after I get it back.
  11. You missed a fun one last night. The 24th should be fun. I know we will be shooting a shotgun at some steel on one stage.
  12. Will do. Where would the cracks be?
  13. I have little or no crimp on these bullets. Thanks, Darin
